Great small theater feel, intimate and quaint. Cast was extremely talented. Great pride in their performance and guest relationship. Definitely going back!! FYI...stage is completely center of wing seating so keep that in mind when purchasing tickets!!

Went here to see a friend performing in the Spamalot production. The play was well done, accomplished by a friendly cast and staff, with a fun, laid-back atmosphere. Ticket price was reasonable and the location was easy to find.

Absolutely fantastic! Loved it! Seriously the talent for Into the Woods was top notch. I cant wait to see another show. We went for the first time tonight. We will be back.

This is more like a 3.5 rating because the theater is old, run down, and not the most comfortable; however, I was quite impressed with the quality of the show that I saw there (Into the Woods). The cast was on point and extremely talented. For a town so small, it was amazing the caliber of the performance. The actual venue is not fabulous and there is hardly legroom, so a long show is uncomfortable after awhile. But, you have to hand it to the creativity and talent of the cast and crew to put on such a good performance.

This is a fantastic community theater with excellent support from actors, patrons and theater-goers alike. They put on great plays utilizing local talent. The productions tend to be well done and often have a funny twist. We love it.

My first time here was seeing Hunch Back. Ive been to a variety of theatre venues along the Wasatch front. This one is unique and has some charge. The stage is intimate. I would compare it to Hale Orem in that way. Given budget and limitations I would stay that production staff are very creative in how they pull stage elements off. Hope to come back here again.

I was so pleasantly surprised! It was the best community theater experience I have ever had. Really well done performance, talented and fun actors, well directed and carried out, and comfortable seats to enjoy it in. Definitely would recommend and visit again!

A fun classic, preserved theatre. With a unique seating arrangement. The back stage is actually center. But entry points are all around for actors. It makes for an entertaining experience as characters in a given play emerge unexpectedly from different locations.

Full disclaimer I have a personal connection to this place. I helped renovate the building. As far as the quality of the facilities and the quality of the Productions is it Broadway probably did they do a decent job with a small budget absolutely! I really enjoyed the performance and Im seriously considering becoming a season ticket holder. The only reason I did not become a season ticket holder the night I went is because there is no financial motivation to doso. You pay full retail for all the shows to become a season ticket holder there is no discount. If there had been I would have purchased 2

Its a quite out of the way, but the acting was incredible. Intimate theater makes you feel part of the show.

This was my first experience at this Playhouse. It was so amazing! I am going to buy a season membership. I want to support them and help them to grow. The acting was phenomenal, the costumes were fantastic, and all done on a very low budget. I will be back

The The theater has charm and history. Starting out out as a burlesque house, then silent movie theater. It is a cozy place to see a play. The theater seating allows for unabstucted views. The seating is on both sides of the stage which gives a unique perspective. The actors were fantastic, loved the play. You need to see at least one play at the Empress Theater

I love that we have a local theater. But they only have two stalls in the womans bathroom. And the musical we saw was okay.

Saw Hunchback, acting and singing were fantastic. Cute theater, they do a good job with a unique stage set up!

42nd Street was excellent performance. The sound system seem to be better than in the past. A very enjoyable experience.

Loved the play, Little Women, particularly the young man who played the neighbor Mr. Laurence, Logan Jones. What an amazing voice! The theater is quite small, but they have new comfortable seats.

Came here about a year ago to see a perfomance of Urinetown. Due to a few actors being unable to show due to inclement weather, they ended up cancelling the show altogether and kicking the entire audience out without refund, despite the actors pleading with the director to let them do SOMETHING for us. Please note, a few families in the audience had flown in from out of state, and wouldnt be visiting long enough to see another showing. Aside from the poorly maintained, dusty seats and weird smell, the customer courtesy was really lacking.

Had the best time. The play Disaster was so funny, havent laugh so had in a long time.Would even be happy to see it again.

There arent many theaters like this anymore and its so charming and quaint! I love how close you are to the actors. My daughter and I saw Sister Act there in the fall and loved it so much we knew we had to go back for Annie. Weve been very impressed by the cast and overall performance both times. Totally worth the drive from West Jordan. Its such a fun place!

Great place for affordable, family friendly community theater. It can be cool in there so you may want a light blanket.

Empress Theatre is a community theatre that puts on decent productions. With unique stadium style seating, viewable tech booth, and tight lobby, this theatre is peculiar from the onset. The productions are full of energy and innovation. The interior is aged and the exterior is deteriorating, but the theatre itself is over 100 years old. Ticket prices are reasonable at $12. Overall average quality.

The Empress Theater is one of the most unique play houses in the whole valley. They are challenged with an old building and little funding. However they continue to bring the community together for fun, entertaining and absolutely gorgeous live theater. The only problem is that the seating is limited and very little room between guests.

Always a delightful experience. Wonderful entertainment!

A community box style like theater, set inside of an old brick movie theater. With new upgrades to the set added nearly every year. Has fun enjoyable preformances. Would recommend. The teater is small, and can fill up quickly so be sure to order tickets early.

Nice little theatre, with a great company. Theyve been making some nice improvements over the past few years, and you can really tell. The shows I have been to are all well done, with great casts. I recommend checking this place out!

Small but cozy.

It has good shows and they audition actors with any amount of experience (more experience = bigger likelihood of a main role) and its a great place to discover if its your thing. You get a sense of commitment when you watch these shows because they are all volunteers, and rehearsals are often enough to remember things. You can order tickets in advance here or at the door for given shows at the given time. There are concessions (actors get half off, shh) but no live orchestra. Theres movie seats inside and theres an elevated part of the stage.

What an experience! I went with my wife to a recent showing of Lucky Stiff. The performance and venue far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this to all my friends and family.

BEFORE: uncomfortable seats, poor sound, dangerous set! NOW (2 yrs later): very comfy seats, great sound and Im not worried about the actors falling off high places. I thoroughly enjoyed the acting, singing and dancing. I recommend the Empress Theater as great family fare.

What a great place to see a show! The price is just right for a family, and the performance that we saw, (Catch me if you can) was outstanding! If you want to see theater, but think that you cant afford it, this is the place.

We just saw peter and the star catcher. I enjoyed it alot. It was a great production, acting superb and choreography fun. The mermaid costumes were some of best I have seen.

Its an old theater with an odd audience-on-the-left-and-right-but-not-in-front-of-the-stage seating setup. The old building feels a little cramped, but the seats are comfortable once you sit down. The scene changes and sound and acting are professional. Despite the unusual stage arrangement, the actors stand out as engaging and talented and present the shows well. The only thing really holding the group back is the irregular stage.

The building is a bit old and run down, but the play we saw there was great!

Its a beautiful building. Its really rather unfortunate that it has to be located in Magna. I would definitely say this is the shining Crown Jewel of the entire town.

Just saw Agatha Christies And Then There Were None at the Empress. Absolutely amazing performance! The Empress Theater was perfect for this type of show.

It is an aged theatre, renovations have been made and the seating and sound seems to have recently been upgraded. Overall it is a quaint little theatre that releases quality productions.
