Hidden historical spot off Lake Mendota Drive! I wish there was more posted info about the history of this location. Such a neat space.

Love this place, but why doesnt the city clean the cistern? I spent about an hour fishing algae out using a downed tree branch...

I like that it is hidden and not well known. Only thing I like to see is a fishing pier. With the active spring and clean water at this location it could produce nice fish from the shore. Otherwise, fishing is absolutely horrible at this location and really there is nothing esle to do.

Cool little park with a protected swimming area and small beach. Very choked with algae when we stopped by, but city staff were cleaning it up.

This ones just kind of okay for me. Best thing is its got decent view of Lake Mendota and you can see an old well built to bring spring water right to the lake. Otherwise its small, no seating by the lake and no dogs allowed for no apparent reason. Come to check it out but dont plan on staying. If your coming from the east on Lake Mendota drive, you can follow that sign that says Merrill Springs Path but its very overgrown and right by a house. Kind of strange.
