Many trails to choose from, most are rugged so be prepared with good shoes and maybe a walking stick. The tunnel is super cool. We used our flashlights on the cell phones, advise to bring headlamps. Took 1 star away because many intersections of trails are not clearly marked which belongs to which (is this 3 or 4? Which way does 7 go?). Had other hikers ask us which way was out, thankfully we had our map to give directions.

This was our first time here. We walked some of the trails and viewed some of the waterfalls. Really a beautiful park. Lots of hiking trails. A small play area for the smaller kids. Pet friendly. I might have not went on the correct trails but all of the views of the falls were fairly far away. I really wanted to get in close to the falls and try to take advantage of the positively charged ions. When we go back we will try to get in closer.

Great state park. Beautiful views of Fall colors in October. While it is wheelchair accessible, there are trails too difficult for many seniors. Nice, large picnic pavilion next to Restrooms. Pool (in summer), playground, and camping available. Lovely modern Inn/lodge with restaurant and store. But the Falls were not flowing in October. Its a dry year.

A great park for the family, groups, or individuals. Many different trail choices for seasoned hikers or a first timer, maps available that will keep you on point and never lost. Playgrounds for the kids, picnic areas for the family, and large grass areas for the dogs!!! Couldnt be happier with the visit and will absolutely be back!! Only reason for a 4 star is that trail markers arent very clear and you had to have a map to insure you were headed the right way.

Very cool. Paved/blacktop trail to one of the nearest falls (imo) that is very close to the parking lot. The other trails we went on are very rugged, lots of roots and rocks, and very steep in some places, but the steepest parts had very well maintained wooden steps and railings. Trails offered good views of the falls. Will definitely be going again.

Hidden Indiana gem. Really nice trails that are maintained really well. We had a blast hiking and seeing the falls. Lots of parking and easy access to all falls... And moderate to rugged trails in between. You wont be able to do them all in a single day. Be sure to visit nearby Madison and make a weekend of it. This whole area is peaceful and friendly. We loved this state park. The waterfalls were a little low because it hasnt rained. We did get to see some. We got to walk through the cave and go on most of the trails. Playing at the park was nice and there is also a large grass area for dogs/kids to run and play. Restrooms were open, gift shop also. There is a lodge there and a restaurant we didnt get to try this time. There is also a nature center and several picnic tables. There may be a camping area also but we didnt see it. Stay safe everyone, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors God has provided.

We enjoyed every bit of this park! We stayed overnight off site but spent three days exploring the park. Many trails are rugged; however there is wheelchair accessibility to see Big Clifty Falls. The bathrooms were clean. It is easy to social distance since the park is so large and the trail system is so extensive. It rained overnight, so the falls were in full force the last day we were there. Expect steep climbs and a lot of stairs! It is a beautiful park and we want to return to explore with the fall colors.

This is a beautiful park, and the campgrounds are well kept and beautiful. The bathrooms and showers are clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. I spent 3 days camping and hiking the trails, and I was impressed with the natural beauty of the trails and the efforts of the staff who work to keep it that way. Honestly, I was inspired by the negative review about the raccoons..I had one come into my campsite, I named him George. He hung out for a few minutes and wandered off, lol. The park supplies firewood and ice at a reasonable price, but make sure you bring kindling, because its illegal to gather your own in a nature preserve.I will DEFINITELY recommend this park to anyone who would like to experience the natural beauty of Indiana.

Clifty Falls State Park is incredibly beautiful! The canyon provides for some amazing hiking and outstanding views. You would never guess that you could see 5 different waterfalls at an Indiana State Park, but you can at Clifty. Good variety of trails and accessible overlook areas if you want to experience some views without going for a long hike. During the summer you have the ability to go to the outdoor pool and participate in some additional nature programs, but fall/winter makes for a much more open view of the canyon and falls since all the leaves are off the trees. Be sure to go to Clifty Inn as well and check out the views, get some lunch or rent a room for a few days. Whenever you visit and whatever the reason or length of stay, you wont be disappointed.

The staff and the neighboring sites were all very friendly and helpful! We loved our spot after we chose a all sun spot unknowingly at first (my fault) and they let us change it for free and without getting snobby. The only reason I say 4/5 is because the outhouse on the primitive side was absolutely unbearable and hard to breathe in. Its ok though - the big bathroom was just down the way! Great place for hikes for different ages and fitness levels. The trail signs are very well made but do not give a great deal of information. Very difficult to orient trail signs to map. No indication of distance from where you are on the trail to the next intersection or marker. The trail map gives a general idea of where the trails run but its very easy to get turned around. Met several people on Hoffman falls trail that were unsure of where they were on the trail. However, the park is beautiful!! Very well maintained. Several picnic areas. Lots of open space. The price of admission was well worth it. We drove from south central Ohio so the non-resident admission was a couple of dollars more. I dont think they offer a veterans discount. Still worth it.

I give this about a two, beautiful scenery. I had such a great trip yesterday. My dog loved it! I ended up getting lost. My cousin and I. So I called hoping someone could help us. Some how I reached the campground around 6:45 pm when I called. This really nice girl picked up. She said she would call security to try to help us. But I guess apparently since it wasn’t an emergency security couldn’t help us. We told her previously we had about a half bottle left of water and our dogs with us. We were fine if one of us went back with a security guard and one of us stayed with the dogs we told the girl that. She tried to help us. Honestly so sweet. Absolutely loved her. She’s great! She told us to take trail 9 because we had to get to trail 7 And it would cut about 1-2 miles off where our cars were and I believe it was 4-6 miles away. We tried to call Clifty Inn because I thought they had separate security and they didn’t. The girl there who picked up said they couldn’t do anything about it. I told her it was going to get dark soon and we had to walk 4-6 miles to our car and all she said was “ok”. So i just hung up. We were on the opposite end of the park. We ended up running into this lady who tried to get the security guard to help us. She literally went up to his car and told him she lived here for 37 years and what if this happened to her and her kid and a whole bunch of stuff. About 15-20 minutes later he said he got approval to let one of us in the back of his pick up truck. So my cousin went and the lady stayed with me and our two dogs. Honestly the greatest lady in the world. So sweet. I never had an experience to this before. I thought it was crazy that he couldn’t do anything about it unless he had “approval”. We were lost. I had a gash on my leg because their was lose dirt in the ground from trail 7. And I fell down a hill. Not to far. I never mention that. I didn’t think about it. But we had hardly any waters and two dogs with us. I will not becoming back to the park. Not to mention when we got in the guy never specify how much the park was to get in. I had to run back to get cash and took out a 20. And he was rude because I guess he was running out of exact change. Beautiful trails I’m sure. My cousin and I came from Cincinnati to come here and i have never been treated like this. We are in our early 20s. Honestly the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever experienced. My question is what would be consider an emergency? Isn’t being lost considered one? Being dehydrated? Thank you to the campground lady who was just awesome and tried her best and same with the woman that help us as well!

It is important to bring shoes you do not mind getting soaked and full of mud. I came to this park as a kid and I love it even more as an adult. The rugged trails were fun. I didnt take any pictures of the rugged trails. The trails take you up steep hills, through creeks, up and down creeks, and through tunnels. Watch out for snakes, like copperhead snakes. I brought my nieces and nephews here and the next generation in my family now loves this park. My nieces and nephews (4-9 years old) did great on all the rugged trails!
