Looking for UW Badger gear? Youll find it here! BOOK selection, though, is surely not what it once was. Neither is their art supply inventory, which once was quite good. Most disappointing aspect of my shopping trip, though was my experience at checkout--no greeting, no smile, no eye contact. As soon as I handed over my money and got my receipt, the cashier had her back to me and was gabbing with another employee behind the counter. Certainly did not feel valued as a customer.

Great place if you are a Badger fan, which I am

This African lady looks at me and taps the display showing the price several times, I guess pointing me to pay, which is what I’m confused about. She hasn’t enabled the card reader yet and looks at me and laughs without acknowledging her mistake.

The cashier named Danni was very helpful. She should get a raise and become Supervisor.

Very friendly staff, great selection of clothes for men, women, and children. Theres great accessories and other gift options as well. The store was clean and well cared for. Anyone looking for great Badger gear, Id highly recommend.

Everything badger love this store. Not the cheapest but good quality. Id been searching online for alumni plate brackets and although I couldve saved a couple bucks online I gave them the business because of incredible service. She took me right where they were. Couldnt forget my badger hat too. Pjs

While the staff was friendly and polite, I think a name change is in order. The store is 90% clothes, with only a few shelves of books and school/art supplies. What little they had for books was mostly made up of B grade fiction and young adult. Great place if you want badger apparel, but dont go for anything else. I was sorely disappointed.

I just love bookstores anyway, but besides books this one also has other products for sale typical of university bookstores. They carry UW branded clothing and other items, art supplies, and greeting cards. The store has two levels.

Book Store may not be the best name for this location but it has nice stuff.

Scholars beware: Bookstore is an historical holdover, apparently. The nearby Target sells more (And better!) books. This place is 90% college football merchandise.

Came into buy some art supply’s on Wensday, I asked for some help with someone. The person that didn’t help with my wants, needs are and I have told this person what I wanted offered me other things that I didn’t need or want.This person was more interested in being on their phones than helping people, just wanted to look up social media or the web on her cell phone.I would like to retry this location, but I see this person I will walk out the door. This female person was wearing a green shirt with tan pants.Also, I hope that you make a new policy that cellphones a not permited it on the sales floor, they “Must be locked in their car or locker.” This would go into affect immediately.

New store is way to small and now its next door to that useless Apple Store with Narcissistic selfie generation of people.When you come to the store there are shoppers in there 20s acting like children in the front grass area.I find this embarrassing to see, and feel its inappropriate to have such nonsense at a mall!The whole concept of the new mall look has ruined what use to be a quiet classic mall for the seniors who liked to take walks but now cant at Hilldale Mall.Anyways the book store should change its name to U.W. Outlet store, because all the school supplies and good reading books are downtown now, which is a major inconvenience for myself and many others I have talked to.I have been shopping online now and find other retailers more convenient and no hassle online, no cramped store and no fighting over a place to park with a time limit.Im sorry two hours only allowed to park at the mall is not enough time for a person who wants to enjoy the day shopping at a mall.Frankly Hilldale Mall has become very snobbish and over priced since the new property management owners out east coast took over!I sure miss the old Hilldale Mall from back in the 1990s.

I found their policy regarding the renting of caps and gowns highly disrespectful and exploitative. They very shrewdly made the due date for reservations two days prior to the due date for dissertation committees to announce whether their candidate may defend. This means that hundreds of PhD students are required to opt for a late reservation, for which the bookstore takes another $15 (making the cost $75 in total).The pick up process is then entirely disorganized. You are forced to wait in a line for about 45 minutes to pay in full and receive only your cap. Then you are sent to another line to receive your gown. Then we were asked to come back the following day to receive our hoods. After waiting in my third line I was told that the hoods would not be available until the day of graduation.In addition to receiving terrible service and being overcharged, Im treated as one of hundreds of irresponsible delinquents who should have made my reservation by the due date (which they know very well fell two days prior to the date at which we would know if we would need a reservation). As I see it, this is the behavior of a monopoly that has no respect for the students they are supposed to serve. I recommend that students find an alternative source to rent a cap and gown from and that the university, itself, eventually provide their own outlet for such reservations.

Pricey but very nice items!

Basically everything youd want from UBS, minus the crush of students that the downtown location has. No textbooks here, but its got plenty of merchandise and a relatively good selection non-school books. Your best choice if you want to buy UW-branded stuff quickly and without the downtown hassle.

Reply to owner: then call it something like “UW Swag: Apparel for the Simple-Minded” and drop the word “BOOKSTORE” as people tend to think you’re running a “BOOKSTORE” when your name has “BOOKSTORE” in it.This is not a bookstore. They say its a bookstore, but when you walk in youre basically punched in the face with red/white UW swag. Staff is bored college kids more interested in being on their phones than helping people. Seriously, can you just keep it over by the university and make this a real bookstore, please? Why does everything have to be about college sports all the time? How about actual academia or just simple reading pleasure? Theres a better selection of books on those spinny rack things at Metcalfes.
