Very interesting from the outside. Its closed for Covid currently.
What a wonderful place tucked right away in plain sight. The history of the site and the connection to Thomas Jefferson and the Civil War make this a special place. The museum and grounds are nice and fairly well kept. The house is really neat but needs more restoration. The interpretation of the site and area was done well by friendly knowledgeable staff. The price is very reasonable for all you get. This in a great place to visit.
Looked like it was open from 10 to 4 but no one was actually there. It looks like it would be a very Interesting place to visit. Disappointing.
Went for the Christmas open house. A beautiful house. The history is rich. I wish I could have spent more time there just wandering the grounds.
Beautiful place!
Check website, it says theyre open..we show up, closed..please change website information to times/days you ACTUALLY are open!
Greg is extremely knowledgeable and was kind enough to allow myself and company to tour the museum unaccompanied during non-operating hrs. This was greatly appreciated and enjoyable to a great degree.
Interned here back in college. The people are exceptional and truly care about preserving this location and the local history it has been exposed to over 180 years. If I recall correctly, what is now sandusky drive just outside the current property that has a residential neighborhood along it used to be the driveway of the house back in the 1800s....its almost a mile long.
Great place. Great people. Kelly and Greg are awesome!
Step back in time and relive part of Lynchburg history from the Thomas Jefferson era through the Civil War
