Im from AZ but was visiting some friends that moved to Lubbock. They suggested we come to Joyland amusement park. The park was super fun! Very affordable! My favorite ride was the Rock o plane cause you can control how many times you flip!! The food is good too! Better than Castles and Coaster for sure!

Brought our granddaughter and her friends and they had a blast. The staff was very courteous and efficient. We had an opportunity to watch many of the rides and were impressed with the sanitizing procedures. All contact areas were sprayed with disinfectant after each use. Riders were properly spaced for good social distancing. Hand sanitizers were placed throughout the park for public use. Security officers (police and sheriffs deputies) were on foot patrol throughout the park. I was very impressed with their protocols.

Joyland is a great place to spend the weekend esp if needing to pass time! I have always loved coming here as a kid. They have kept up with it BUT I would love to also see some changes! The arcades could be updated and not look so run down and old. Also the music is what caught my attention, I felt myself yawning and getting tired and thinking wow this music needs to be updated to a new generation and I feel like that would get people & kids more excited and energetic. Also I feel like their could be more events or shows to get people to go.

It has been more than 20 years since I visited Joyland. Fond memories of this place as a kid. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that it is still well cared for. Grounds were clean, rides were operational, bathrooms were decent. Some of the rides that I remember as a kid are still there and working well. Entry price covered admission and all rides. Misters were a nice touch to keep us cool. We spent a solid 2.5 hours here in the evening with my 1st grader. He had a blast.

In a word this place is just...fine. Our kids had an absolute blast and I rode my fair share of rides as well. The Park was relatively clean and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. There were a good selection of rides for all age groups as well as general arcade type games. I particularly appreciated the cool misting system that ran all throughout the park. I am from Amarillo and while I do think Wonderland is a considerably better experience as far as general amusement park fun is concerned, there really is nothing really WRONG with Joyland. Save for one thing. I removed one star from this review because in my opinion as far as establishments like this are concerned, drinks and food are VASTLY overpriced. But other than that this is a fine place for a fun family outing.

If you would like to get Corona virus feel free to visit this establishment. I called before I took my autistic boy to joyland amusement park in Lubbock Texas and specifically asked about the precautions they were taking for Corona virus. Their management told me that all of their employees were mask and that they disinfect each of the rides between rides, and encourages their guests to wear masks. I found just the opposite when I arrived with my boy. at least half of their employees were not wearing mask. I asked to speak to a manager about it and she came out to talk to me without wearing a mask. I didnt ask to speak to the general manager and asked him to comply with Texas law that requires masks and he said that its hot out here Im not going to do that. I then told him that their employees disinfecting their rides are barely spending a half a second half hazardly spraying their rides so for instance the steering wheel on the bumper car had disinfected on one side but not the other. I asked the general manager to ask his staff to be more diligent in their disinfecting and he replied that were doing more than other companies do. When I informed them that so many of his staffers were not wearing mask he replied well look the seven people right around us are wearing masks which happened to be the seven people I personally asked to put their mask back on. I invited the general manager to take a stroll through their park so that I can point out all the employees not wearing mask he refused to do so. then I see the general manager walking through the park with no mask on. I spoke to the sheriff that the parked hired as on staff police and the sheriff told me that yes its law in Texas that his staff is supposed to be wearing mask but they dont enforce it. Then I take my boy to one of the rides that goes round and round really fast and that employee is encouraging all of the customers to scream and scream louder and scream louder repeatedly. My boy and I were the only ones wearing mask. So you have a ride full of people screaming at the top of their lungs spewing out vapor mist which could be containing coronavirus and their staffs encouraging customers to stream louder and louder. I asked the general manager to change that policy and he said he wouldnt do it. When we have a thousand people a day catching Corona virus in Texas and approximately 140 deaths nationwide and the general manager of joyland amusement Park in Lubbock Texas is allowing over half of his staff not to wear mask allowing his staff to improperly disinfect rides while advertising to their customers if they are disinfecting their rods and advertising to their customers that their staff members are wearing masks when theyre not despite the fact this is Texas law. it is obvious the general manager does not care whether or not his staff gets Corona virus or his customers get Corona virus. So as a public service announcement if you do not want to get coronavirus I suggest not going to join amusement park in Lubbock Texas because the general manager refuses to change anything.

We took our children and we all had a blast. However, Im giving only four stars because the green octopus shaped ride just wasnt safe theres no real restraints keeping kids in. For the most part the staff is great but there are a few that could at least pretend they enjoy their job. But overall great family fun you get your moneys worth. But I dont recommend letting your kids ride that one particular ride unless they can hold on tight.

I grew up coming here, as did my parents. whenever we come to town to visit we make sure to stop here for an evening. no, its not six flags, but we all knew that. short lines, friendly staff. plenty to do for younger kids as well as adults. I rode the first roller coaster of my life here, so nostalgia

Great price of admission for a medium sized amusement park. They offer a military discount and a non rider/ limited rider option. It was perfect for my grandchildren who are 10 & 11. The rides are just their speed. A good variety, laid out well, short lines covered seating, water spritzing (for heat control) and friendly staff!! A good value and a family friendly park! Definitely recommended!

I get my exercise walking from one end to the other end so its pretty fair for the $6.50 that I pay because, I do not ride. Who am I kidding $6.50 okay they should have the price for the persons that do not ride at least $3.25...
