Louisville needed a place like this for a long, long time. An intimate, classy club with great live music and tasty drinks. Depending on who is playing, this very small venue can get packed very quickly, where it’s standing room only and squeezing through people to get to the restroom or bar. It also makes it hard for short people to see, but the trick is going up the staircase and viewing the show from above (however this is not always an option if staff are managing the door). It is the ideal setting when the tables are set out and you can listen to great music in a dimly lit attractive space. Don’t be afraid to share tables either. The bar can have a bit of a wait sometimes. You’ll want to Insta a selfie under the neon sign “We’re All Animals,” and the flamingo wallpapered bathroom. Ticket prices are determined by whether it’s a touring or local band, but all ticket pricing is reasonable.

What a cool place!! it’s attached to a sandwich shop, which is fun (and delicious). it’s moody, it’s loud, it’s not fussy. intimate and lively at the same time. idk how they manage, but i’m grateful they do! you can see the show from two places. i’ve never been anywhere like it. i will definitely return.

Music was great! The drinks were well made, but only one bartender so the line got to be a really long wait. Get there about an hour early to get a seat. There wasnt much room to dance when we were there, but the regulars said there are times with few tables and room to dance! Well worth a fun evening!

This place is hidden under a sandwich shop. The cover charge is $10, well worth it. Here you’ll find a bar which serves some classic cocktail as well as tiki cocktails, which are good. If going on a weekend, they’ll have a band playing. The atmosphere is friendly. The vibe is energetic. And the staff is good. If you’re in Louisville, is well worth checking out.

Drinks and atmosphere were too notch for a speak-easy. Bartender seemed absent-minded and was slow.

Small, charming venue. Music and drinks were good. They were slammed when I arrived, despite being incredibly busy the bartenders did a fantastic job busting drinks out. Cant wait to go again.

The atmosphere was that of a old school speakeasy. The music was great and the bar was flowing. I had the best time Ive had in a long time. If you like good music, smooth jazz and a nice environment, this place is highly recommended.

An amazing nightlife option. Love the music and atmosphere. The cocktails are spot on. Reminds you of an old speakeasy. In the basement of a sandwich shop, and definitely gives that tell me the password vibe.

Jimmy Cant Dance is an intimate, dark space reminiscent of a place Ive only seen in movies. Not fitting a particular era but feels like home. The staff was super attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about alternative drinks. The music was fantastic. I highly recommend it. I look forward to going back again.

May have just been a bad night, but service was not good. Music was fine, but rude bartenders made it not worth the $10 cover.

Great Vibes low key Jazz Club

Small, very small. Very loud. But if youre into that sort of thing then youll love it. Fun time celebrating my bday. Drinks were great and not expensive.

Came here for the first time with a friend and we had the best time dancing and grooving along with the band, On The Sun, performing that night. I love the historic building that this club is in along with the comfortable booth seating along the wall and exposed indoor brick wall. Coolest bar

Very cool and cozy place. The music is always fantastic, it is a refreshing change of pace from the standard bar scene.

The ambiance in this place is otherworldly and it feels like youre transported some place far away when you descend the steps into the basement to the bar. Also, the bartenders are great and the drinks are delicious! I definitely recommend the sazerac above all.

This is my favorite spot in Louisville. The drinks are on point and you will always want to be on the dance floor. Its hidden so dont be scared, because you will miss out on the coolest spot in Louisville.

Followed a New Orleans style second line parade to this great Jazz club in the basement of a sandwich shop. The band was great and everyone was dancing and having a great time. The sandwich shop upstairs was also serving late night snacks and they were quite scrumptious.

Small. Loud. Just what youd expect. Nice mojito. Two and I was gone with the wind

I like this place a lot. It is located underneath a sandwich shop, giving it a 1920s speak-easy vibe. The drinks are well crafted and reasonably priced. We went on a Friday. The place was busy but not uncomfortable. The live Jazz music and lighting give this bar a ambiance I havent seen since Meat shut down in Butchertown. I highly recommend a visit.

Late night foot long hotdogs, topped with what I believe was heaven sent, made with the hands of angels Brunswick stew. We enjoyed the live jazz, hot food, booze and gorgeous company. Nice classy joint.

Louisvilles only Jazz club. It was a really cool laid back atmosphere with some great music. The bartenders went over the top about making the best drinks and making sure the ingredients were just right. I had a Rambunctious Rickey(I think that was what it was called) and it was great. I am not a music expert but the band was world class, in my humble opinion. There is such a lack of music like that in this town it is hard to judge because I havent been exposed enough. If you are fan of Jazz you have to check this place out. Jimmys Cant Dance fills that niche that Louisville has been missing for a long time.

What a nice and intimate venue for listening to some great jazz music. Not a bad seat in the house and the LIIT are not too bad either. Always have live music on the weekends.

Finally a nice and cozy place to listen to fabulous Jazz.I think I have found my spot.Drinks where awsome, didnt get a chance to try the food.The music was so good we didnt even think about eating.The food will be on my to-do list for the next time.

Jimmy Can’t Dance is a wonderfully small Jazz Bar. It gives a 1930’s vibe with the exposed brick walls and candle light. The music was terrific and service excellent. We will definitely be back.

Very cool place in the basement of a snaadwich shop. We went on a Friday and they had a great jazz band with many instruments. They even had kombucha to enjoy along with the full bar. Had a cool vibe and atmosphere. Was a bit crowded but that seemed like just a part of it. I will be back.

Was there this past saturday and had something slipped into my drink. Only had three bourbon and gingers and then everything was blank. I dont think this is the bars fault, but i want people to know the company that is there. I just want everyone to stay safe. From the hour that i can remember, the bar was cosy, dimmly lit, and drinks were good. Except for that last one...
