From a professional wedding photographers perspective, Whitehall is the perfect venue. The garden area is absolutely gorgeous for a ceremony. The fact that the couple can get ready, get married and have the reception all at the same venue makes it easier for the couple and their guests. Not to mention, the entire grounds is filled with beautiful flowers and trees. (A photographers dream!) The indoors is stunning too, with plenty of options for photos in the case that there is a rainy-day wedding. From my experience, the staff was very kind as well. 5/5 for me!

My husband and I were leisurely traveling back home from vacation and decided to stop somewhere in this area for a break. I found this place on Google maps. We both found it very enjoyable and relaxing. After a tour of the house, we took a stroll through the gardens. Much of the original estate has been sold off, so it doesn’t take a lot of time to go through the gardens. It is in an old neighborhood. So the location was quiet.

Came here for a wedding, beautiful grounds and atmosphere. Parking can be a bit iffy for large events.

Hosted a wedding for the political elite during the height of COVID when others could not.

This is a lovely house. It was really interesting to look around it and see the different themes in the rooms. I didnt know there were so many different wallpapers.I would love to see what the grounds are like in the warmer months.

Everything about this venue is stunning. Our wedding was an absolute dream. The staff is great to work with - so helpful and accommodating! We were so so incredibly happy with our choice of venue. You cannot go wrong! Book early... dates go quick!

Whitehall is absolutely beautiful! If youre wanting a lovely outdoor wedding it would be perfect. We wanted a place that we could do an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception, unfortunately they dont have enough space to hold all of our guests indoors. Its a shame, as the grounds are absolutely beautiful and I would have loved to hold our wedding there.

Whitehall is for everyone who loves gardens, trees, architecture, flowers and plants,. It houses one of the worlds most varied collections of ferns many varities of daffodils, woodland gardens, including the amazing stumpery that continues to grow and evolve. Imagine tree stumps that smell like oranges and project like art ! Bee hives which are producing some fantastic honey. Exquisite antique furnishings,many original pieces from ancestral family.It also exudes the spirit of all the devoted people, gardeners like Liz directors Kristen and Carol the wedding planner extraordinaire.This is a wonderful place to experience events like the fall color walk,recently the bluegrass music event,authentic Victorian. Christmas tea in early December, and the core event that celebrates philanthropy by our local leaders The SUMMER CELEBRATION to mention just a few events . It was a total delight and has a tremendous array of breathtaking trees hand picked by one of the most knowledgeable tree masters in the country.I enjoy every aspect of Whitehall. There are lectures by many nationally known experts on varied subjects It was a must see for familes and individuals where volunteers, such as the Master gardeners of louisville, continue to thrill me with their innovative garden designs. Whitehall is unbelievable treasure. And I highly recommend it.

Beautiful hidden gem. Gardens are open to the public on weekdays from sunrise to sunset, and they have public restrooms as well. This would be an amazing place to hold an event.

“Wonderful Experience”This historic house is very beautiful. Most of the artifacts within are original to the families that contributed to this historic beauty. The grounds are magnificent. If I lived there, I would make it a daily routine to spend an hour or two just sitting or walking through the fern forest. The birds were singing, the little resident rabbits were..

We had our daughters wedding here and it was spectacular! The gardens, gates, the lush greenery and flowers all made for a beautiful backdrop!

We were guided by a Caldwell descendant, who gave an amazing inside view of Victorian life in Louisville. A great tour!! :)

A lovely old home with a wonderful garden (which is open for free every day from sun up to sun down). The home was really nice and the older lady giving us the tour was wonderful. Not all of the wall paper was to 100% but that didnt take away from the tour. They have a lot of weddings held at the house which is nice (if your having a wedding there). The tour wasnt very expensive and I would recommend it if you havnt gone to any older historical homes
