Went to see Lori Jane and the 45s,they were SO fantastic. such fun music and,what a voice! Great spot too,friendly environment and excellent wait staff. Also the female saxophone player was amazing and such a joy to watch.

Awesome place! I played here several times in the 90s, great to see this blues bar is still in business. Always treated well here, always had a great time.

Always show Stevie Rays a little love when were in Louisville if we can possibly swing it. Had a great time listening to Bag of Hammers, stepping out into the Voodoo Garden, and sipping the absolute best Bloody Mary I think Ive ever had that I didnt make myself.

Wanted to check this place out because my husband is a huge Stevie Ray fan. Loved it here. Very chill spot with some live music. Im not too crazy about the city of Louisville...but the only reason we will be back is because of this bar! Loved it!!

LIVE BANDS USUALLY NEVER DISAPPOINT. Only one bad experience, Live Band sang all their own original songs.. one cover (prince) which the dance floor was full. But other than that great atmosphere

Was visiting Louisville for one night and found this place just a few blocks from where I was staying. I wish we had a bar like this in Asheville! Great music (and it started early, at 6:30, which is great—went till late too) and friendly service. Plenty of room on the dance floor. Can’t wait to go back one day!

Loved listening to live Gary Cain last night. The atmosphere was awesome.I have sound sensitivity issues so the loud music was tricky to listen to right? Wrong! There was a fountain area in the back that was accessible so I could listen to the music and enjoy myself!Reasonably priced drinks as well.

Great club and seeing the Beat Daddys there is always a hot time.

Smaller place than what I thought but great fun. Always have the best in local live music. Very nice outside setting if you want to be away from the crowd on the dance floor.

Great blues bar. Totally old school. Loved the bar staff - super friendly and really lovely. The live music was amazing. By no means is this a posh swanky bar - its a blues bar so what else would you expect.

Fun bar. I believe they have live bands 6 nights a week. Bartender was awesome. Will be going back in the near future.

There is no other bar/club in Louisville quite like Stevie Rays. This has become a regular haunt for my wife and I as the vibe and atmosphere are as chill and welcoming than any establishment we have been in downtown. I cannot recommend their version of Liquid Marijuana enough! Refreshing, delicious and strong - basically a 2019 updated version of a Long Island Ice Tea. Trust me, TRY ONE (or two)!

I love the atmosphere. I love all the music they host and that they have TWO open mic blues jams per week! The musicians and staff behind the bar and the sound are excellent!!! My less-than-perfect rating is ONLY because EVERY jam Ive been to starts, 30 minutes to an hour late

Fun place and some good live music. Could use some better stage lighting and the mix wasnt the best but just nit-picking a tad. Enjoyed it!

Was here for an industry event last night. Dont know who the band was, but they were absolutely JAMMING. Dance floor was packed. Probably some of the best live music Ive heard in a while. Drinks were solid too and the bar staff were top notch.

Great Blues Bar. A local institution. Multiple Bands play late during the week and weekend.

A $6 cover isnt too bad for 2 bands but the place could use a little updating. It is a long time staple on Main Street for good music. Since they dont serve food, youre allowed to bring your own food, which is very nice. Mona, at the door, has always been just lovely!

Great atmosphere and music. I was pleased to see the cleanliness of the space, including the restrooms. There is also a roomy outdoor space in the back for smoking or to escape the crowd. Bartenders are all very friendly and very good at repeated, frequent enough checkups for customers both seated at tables and the bar

Went to Stevie Rays for the first time to jam with some of my friends during one of their open mic nights. Staff was great, everyone was extremely nice, and the music was awesome. It was nice not getting mean mugged from across the bar for a change. Go check it out! A lot of great local talent and some from out of town. I think its my new favorite place!

The only thing that could make Stevie Rays better is more space. Every time Ive been there its impossible to find a seat. Of course, that just speaks to the popularity of the place, but I know we would have stayed longer tonight to listen to the great band (Nobodys Bizzness) if we had been able to find a table.

Its a nice place for blues enthusiasts of Louisville. Its a friendly place and people respect those who are having a nice time. They have a small dance floor which becomes crowded when things gets going. You have to go through that dance floor obstacle if you are to go to the restrooms. You wont get any tables on weekends if you come a bit too late. No bar chows though except chips which they would hand out to you in packs. But there is a food truck right outside the bar. Music is good, drinks are good.

If youre looking for live music this place has it. Some of the live is questionable but the music is good. Drinks are not cheap, but average price for the area.

I complain to friends all the time about this place, however, sometimes the bands are awesome and super talented, and sometimes they hire bands that should be playing at wedding receptions ...and thats on weekends. Id like to think Stevie Rays is too cool to hire bands that play the song Brick House, but sadly, thats not true. It would be great if they would set one night a week aside for jazz, but they dont seem to have the balls to try anything like that. The thing is though, the place has a great vibe, and I would have given it another star rating, but my last two visits were disappointments.

Stevie Rays might be where the old dudes hang out but you can find a lot of musical talent here. If youre looking for something a little different, give it a try.

Insanely talented bands and just an awesome atmosphere

Sadly they stopped playing blues on the weekends; its just a mix of cover songs. But the music is good. Its nice to just go and chill and not be bothered by a meat market. Fyi you can still enjoy blues during the week.

A lot of local music with a sprinkling of celebrity. Not just blues, but rock and even some jazz. If you like blues, the Tuesday night blues jam is free. Saturday night blues has a cheap cover charge.

I love the blues so much so this place is great for a fan like me. Live music all the time with mostly local talent. The music selection is vast because each band is different because they play together from putting their names on a list. The place is clean, cool, and will have you wanting to come back. Dont get spoiled
