Cant wait till you open back up! The teens really really miss it
It was fun! I havent skated since I was in elementary school. The outside of the rink is for faster skaters, so stay to the inside or rest in the designated areas of you need a break. Its very entertaining to watch the really good skaters weave in and out, and spin around, skate backwards, and just skate so fluidly.
I went here with my sister on our birthday and it was super good
Im like 99.9% sure Straight Outta Compton was filmed here. I love this place so much. Its so groovy. Plus the fact they have an adults only on Mondays so that a great bonus for teens like me going on a date (^:
First time visit. Wasnt expecting to have as much fun as I did. The music was great. Facilities clean. Staff well organized. Security was tight but makes you feel safe. Cant wait to go again!
Google and their website says their open but its a lie. I pulled up and it looked abandoned. Also the number doesnt work. Waste of time and gas.
Cool historic rink with a neat story. A lot of kids used to escape gang violence here. It was reopened with the help of Nipsey Hussle a few years ago. Now it has more of a club vibe, but it’s cool. All the people skating were nice. One note, there is a ramp you must skate up and down to get in the rink. This is a bit tricky.
They have the best skates
Me, Alicia Keys, and the YouTubers plan on going to World On Wheels for Party Night and lit vibes.
Oct 2014We went there on of 14 2020 it looked like it’s abandoned and the cell number is disconnectedDon’t go there
We hosted our holiday party at Moonlight this year. Adrienne was incredibly helpful getting everything organized leading up to the event, and the staff was lovely during the event as well. We had a fantastic time!
I love this place, i bring my kids all the time !
I was in a music video that was filmed here. Came by a few times before filming to practice. The place is old and has a vintage feel to it. Lovely and extremely helpful staff.
Attended the R&B skate session last night and it was so much fun. The music was on point and it was a very nice crowd, not too packed. The new renovations serve this place well. I’ll definitely be back.
Out of most Roller Rinks, this is my favorite. The floor is great, crowd is great, its a safe space, and I enjoy how each night caters to a different crowd. One thing I do not enjoy is the repetitive music and the constant increase in price for admission, rental, and the food.
Sooo niceee
Going here for my birthday and I heard this is the spot to be so I hope people or right about this place
Best local roller rink in LA! Always a good vibe and everyone is so nice!
Went yesterday and it was fun
Good skating ring
WOW is by far the rink with the best asthenosphere for skating. The skill level is high for a majority of the skaters and its always a bast to watch. The best way to describe WOW is as a night club. Its fun loud and always poppin. If you are a low skill level skater and are looking to have fun on skates you may be a bit disappointed. As it is very crowded and overwhelming at times. The staff are also rude majority of the times Ive attended.
Brought my daughter her to celebrate her 16th birthday. Place was fun. If you want a good spot to sit and chill you have to get there when it opens. Just note it gets packed and there is a lot of rude/unmannered people.
Always delicious ! I usually get a few of the grilled vegetable small plates and athe sandwiches and salads are really tasty along with a cappuccino Setting is sun filled and well kept.
This place is Beyoncé approved!!! Thats all.
I was excited to bring my brothers here the place looks so dope and ended up being a super cool rink well designed but the reason I’m rating low is because the cashier girl and the girl with the bun working the skate rental ! Their attitudes were disgusting, why work in a fun happy environment if you’re going to give everyone that walks in a blank stare be annoyed that you have to do your job. They seemed so miserable in their lives and I hope they read this. From the time we entered no one politely directed us to the next spot since it was our first time and there were no signs posted of where to go next, we just walked in lost . It sucks that those two girls working the shifts around 5pm-6pm today 8/4 killed the vibe but other than that the male workers skating around were super nice and friendly! Rink is super cool for teens and young adults, such a fun vibe with great music and games to pump it up.
I used to come here as a kid, im 26 now, I came for a relatives birthday and found it to be missing the one thing i was looking forward to. Growing up in the age of dwindling arcades, this was one of my few lsafe places, but now theres less then half of the machines and some didnt even get turned on until halfway through the night. Surprisingly, the food is better then i remember, still super slow, but the pizza fries were fresh and more then descent (not extravagant, but they tasted like something i could make at home, which is a compliment in my mind)I do think the serious lack of arcade machines or an accessible atm (i dont know if there is one but i didnt find it) to get dollars from shows that this is no longer a place for me.
Not my thing but its cool if you enjoy skating I dont. Employees are cool too very chill.
Great place to throw a party
Very welcoming atmosphere. Good music and very affordable. 18+ and ID required. Safe environment and beginner friendly.
Best skates
Fantastic kids didnt want to leave. And I had fun too. I will be back.
LA history. If you roller skate, iconic Roll on Wheels should be your next destination
Its not Open. The info is not updated
Good music, good service and amazing workers they sure know how to dance while skating.
Love this place !! Grew up skating here
Freshly remodeled, WORLD ON WHEELS
First & last visit esrlier this year. Horrible service, the staff/ kids that work there have no respect or customer service skills. Theyre paid to have a bad attitude & tell people read the signs. Dont let TV shows this place is featured on fool you, its all Hollywood for show... Save your time & money.
I love this place! It’s a great place to come skating. Very convenient location. If you are an adult and you know how to skate, the best time would be to come during the adult skate session. Before that there can be a bunch if kids. If you want to practice, come during the practice session. The staff are so nice. When we went it was CASH only. Be prepared for that. It’s was $12 including the skates. Or just bring your own skates. Lockers are $2 again, bring cash. Also, you will have to go through a metal detector. But don’t fret, it’s only for everyone’s safety. The music is super loud and it’s like a club. I love it. You will have a blast. There are resting stations in the corners and in the middle which is super convenient.Happy skating!
Wow, this place a lot of fun, make sure you get a good night sleep prior to come, because you will need all that energy, fun place to be.
It was okay..maybe i didnt go on a good night..the.misic wasnt very skaye friendly to me
Had so much fun. I finally got my own pair of skates and I enjoyed it so much more. Ill be back!
I have no idea where to start. The entire experience was ELECTRIFYING! I have never seen anything like it. A group of talented individuals gliding to the sounds of old school music on a Thursday night. I love that they dont sell alcohol. Sober skating is better anyway. I appreciate the guy who saved me before falling (See what happens when you drink). He had a cast on his hand, yet he held me up and I cant thank him enough. Jay assisted me with getting my skates and she was super friendly and helpful (Youre awesome girl!). The security guards I give an A+++++ Great group of men keeping things in order with respect for the people. I can go on talking about my experience, but all that matter is that it cost $15 to have an extraordinary experience. Thank you! Ill be back!
Very unprofessional place, needs better and more polite doorman ASAP thought The president was inside the way they were acting,I’m out of town and the website said over @ 1 I get there at 11 and they where closing down wouldn’t even say why or give any info just that we couldn’t look in or go in such a waste! Would’ve thought of coming back if the ppl that ran the place was at least polite it’s just a skating rink.
Worst experience for a bday party. Spent over 900.00 and it was not worth it. My guest enjoyed skating but the staff awful. My party was from 12-3pm we got our food after 2:30pm and they rushed us out. They cut the lights off on us while we gathered our belongs. I watched most of my chicken wings hit the floor . And the cook did not want to cook our pizzas. I spent about 45mins at the counter making sure all our food came out. No recommendations for a party but to skate thats always fun.
Yaaaas the vibes here was great. Mixed crowds with urban music. Good vibes and so much fun!! You definitely cant come to los Angeles and not come here. I hear Tuesday adults are better. I went on Sat night for adult nightSo much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brings back thoughts of my childhood. Going here when I attended Challengers Boys and Girls. Such a fun, youthful place.
Might’ve been a cool place but I’ll never know. I stopped by finally because I wanted to check it out and maybe go skate but the guy at the front wouldn’t even let me look inside without paying. I offered to leave him my ID but nothing. That’s ridiculous what is it an exclusive club? I just wanted to peek my head in for one minute he said no and then told me to leave because I said “that’s silly”. They need better doormen that are friendlier and allow people to actually look inside. I don’t want to be giving money to a place that treats people like dirt.
It was okay...their music selection was weak...and the floor had gum on it even though they confiscate everything from lighters to ALMONDS..yes almonds..of course you get them.back but ALMONDS.... anyway we had an OKAY TIME
This place has been around for years!!!, I won’t say how many, because I will tell my age but anywho! This is the skating spot to get your roll on, I some great years here growing up and then my son grew up enjoying this spot, now my grandkids are making their marks. History is definitely being made at W.O.W., You meet people, have parties and just have some good ole fashion fun. Come get you some. See ya there!
Really had a great time, looking at these other posts and the few bad ones seems like everyone has an opinion on how something should be ran and everyone wants to complain in 2019. Shut up and have fun instead of looking for complaints. I had an amazing time so did my kids, food and drink were fair priced.
YOU KNOWWW
We had fun! The DJ played good music. The other patrons were nice. There was no drama. An overall good atmosphere. If youre bringing small children, I would advise you to go during the 12p-3pm session on Saturdays. Theres more children at that time. My only complaint was the gentleman that wears the baseball cap and works the door. His attitude was crappy. Other than that Im very pleased!
Very urban crowd... mixed... long lines at times... rap and RnB music... they need a better bar... no alcohol
Staff is rude and unprofessional, if any managment or owner looking at this you should really consider training the staff or getting rid of them. Turn up the AC, buy better skates...they hurt very much, and try making the skating rink slicker.
Fun old-fashioned (1980s) roller skating rink. Video games, air hockey table and the like.I went during a private Netflix event, so I dont know if its always this fun. Also the lighting and sound system was great, again dont know if it was because of the event.
Its a pretty dope place, especially one the Thursday adult night. Super dope music, And all around good vibes. Not too crowded either where theres still plenty of room to skate and to get down if wanted. Bit more expensive than other skate rinks but a lot less kids.
They never answer the phone
Grear atmosphere and good variety of music
My kids, nieces and nephews had a great time. I had a great time watching them skate and loved the music. Looking forward to taking them again this was our first time.
Convenient location.
Very nice folks working there
I didnt really like it I went with my kids and everyone there were like pros I had to leave because I didnt want my kids getting hurt by these pros going sooo fast and backwards.
This is for sure a super dope spot to go skate if youve been trying to find somewhere fun. Theres various themed nights for both the family and friends! Their employees are incredibly friendly and helpful. Great service and fun for all.
Ive never been there
You cant bring your own balloons or anything inside...
First time at World on Wheels. Overall experience was okay. Definitely most suitable for experienced skaters though, otherwise if its your first time/youre a beginner, there will not be much space to practice.**World on Wheels provides: skates, food/dining area, restrooms, game lounge area, party rooms, and a skate rink.**No Re-Entry
Always a fun place and most importantly you are safe. Came to the after hours and ladies if you dont want to be harrassed by some dude and have fun this is the place. Been the place every since I was 15 and now Im 37yrs young 7/2019 Wizzie was here go follow my IG page at @shawaynethegreat37
Long lines, bring cash to bypass the credit card line. If you have your own skates bring them to bypass the skate line. Its very loud but looks like fun if you can get past the line issues.
I broke my tailbone on the rink and I have permanent damage and I cant walk my whole life thanks a lot rollerblading
YES! We came from out of town for the adult rhythm skate and were not disappointed. The music was dope, the floor was perfect, everyone was helpful, and we saw some amazing skating. Our favorite thing was how the floor guards handle the floor! We hate going to rinks where people fall and lay on the skate floor, stop to take hella photos or chat, or skate in the wrong direction and trip people. The floor guards at WOW are the best. They use whistles and get people off the floor immediately. You can tell that the adult nights arent for beginner skaters which was perfect for us. They may be the only rink in SoCal that does it. We will def be back!!
My favorite place!
Was Funnn first timers..
We had a nice time for my daughter Nalon birthday party 3-31-19 the staff were friendly thank you from Patricia
Had fun great food and staff
Great vibe & cool people!
Worst experience ever. Stood in line and my mom went in way before me. Walked up to lean into the door threshold calling out to her. The security than began closing the door on me hitting me in the back, stating he had to close this door. Finally got inside and as Im waiting on my friend with our kids and the same security nearly steps on my feet, no apologies given. Get inside and the guy giving skates was rude, had an attitude the entire time. He kept yelling he didnt have halfs and only mens sizes, not a problem. Meaning we had to see which fit better. I ask for a 7 he gives it to me and too big so I ask for a 6 which he rudely replies you dont know your shoe size? Yes i do its a 7.5 in men but you dont have halfs. I get it, its too small meaning I have to settle for the 7. We leave and go order food. There are hardly any seats to fit my large party of people. We order and the lady has a attitude also. After about 20 minutes of waiting were told she only got half of our order now we have to order the rest all over again. Over all terrible experience never coming back again
Terrible. I came from out of town to skate for their national party event posted. They were like we had a private party so no skating. I asked if they posted that somewhere. They said nope. Sorry for the inconvenience. I asked for some kind of compensation for the next day. They gave me a number to call. That no one picks up. Smh. Thanks.
1 of LAs FINEST MONUMENTS OF FUN!
Great service ! Highly recommend! Staff very helpful with kids when falling in ring very nice atmosphere, just the music had to much base but hey! I wasn’t there for the music ! Except (Dr. Dre, Snoop dog ) came out, other then that fun, fun place !! A+
Floor can be a lil slick, so dont be too embarrassed if you fall. DJs were great. Adult skate was till 4 AM on Saturday.
Closed for an event, Full night was planned there for a kids birthday, they did not mention that on their site. Luckily I got there early & warned the group. Must sat the staff there were helpful and cordial
Someone brought it to my attention wow charges customers the same amount, regardless if we bring our skates. Some of the other rinks charge less if you have your personal skates. It appears customers who bring their skates are paying for those who use skates provided by the establishment. I apologize if I am incorrect. Is there a fee for using wow skates? If not, Is this something wow would consider changing in the future? It would be nice if we could pay a little less for bringing our skates. Also the lockers cost too much, being that they are so small. Was this an afterthought (the tiny lockers) prior to re-opening the rink? Additionally, please think about providing skating lessons for children and adults. There are several people I know would love to take classes, including me!!!
We had so much fun
Grew up sk8n here darn near everyday of the week
Super fun to spend a weekend here.. lots of space and fun arcade games. Playing the gun game and air hockey is a must
Made me feel super young again! I had so much fun!
If you are used to a more positive Experience. Support Fountain Valley Skating rink, Skate express in Chino or Northridge skateland. They are a good business, polite, professional, gives a discount for having your own skates. no drama, does. not make last minute changes without an explanation. Great family environment. They start their sessions on time and are all around good business. Its not always true that you get what you pay for and you will see that once you decide to support these rinks. If you need more info, feel free to contact me, Ill be happy to do so.Mainly new management, customer service training for current management, consistent notices on when they are going to make changes (sudden or future) a discount for people with their own skates like every other skating rink in THE WORLD that gives someone with their own custom made skates a discount. For them to start or let in people on time. They say they start at 9 but they dont let people in until around 10 and even sometimes end the session early with no explanation, have workers and management that are genuinely appreciative for clientele and not just the money and last but leastI have been coming to World on wheels for over 3 years now and recently I was banned because I made a video about how degrading the atmosphere is there and how they are making skate culture into some night club scene and like a night club there is always drama, fights amd shady loathsome behavior Management never responds and is always unavailable when there is an issue. Very unprofessional and barbarically impudent and take note this is hardly a family oriented establishment. If you walk to the front door youll notice a sign stating they will press charges against people that are starting trouble at 711, Ralphs or any other business in the surrounding area. The security guards are nice except for one he has a tattoo on the right side of his neck He is extremely power hungry and ill mannered. Be careful around him, he looks like he is looking to get his hands dirty judging from the way he is with the customers. The other security guards are real nice, calm and collected especially Dante he is the coolest guard there. The workers are real nice I always got along with them and still keep in touch with some but the management is the issue. They only care about money.
The staff are very rude and unprofessional. Not much ventilation - feels hot and sticky inside. Lots of skaters, Im sure well over capacity. Lots of people falling and getting injured because of it. $12 for entry and skates was the best thing about this place.
I was very disappointed in this Skating Rink. I am from the east coast where Skating Rinks are everywhere and the best of the best grace the floor with there talent... 1st. As big as the building is, the skating rink is entirely too small. Theyre way too many people inside and skating on the floor that you cant even enjoy yourself. Its definitely a hazard amd unsafe having so many people on that small floor at one time. 2nd they have no water fountains anywhere. They take your water bottle and force you to pay $5 for off brand water. Why dont they install water? If someone has head stroke or something medically happens it could have been prevented if they had open access to water, thats a lawsuit. 3rdly the skates are dangerous. J was given 3 different pair of skates because the wheels were either stuck, or the bearrings were shot; and when I asked them to adjust them, they said they couldnt because somebody stole the tool as if thats an excuse not to buy another one. Overall I was not happy. Seemingly its the only skating rink around and people have only this one to use ...this leaves me with the idea to fund my own skating rink and have everything this one is missing so that people are comfortable and safe. Overall I rate a 2 star.
