I went to the art walk as a requirement for my philosophy class and I really enjoyed it. There is a nice variety of street art as well as 3 art exhibits in the area so that was very nice. The food was wonderful. There was a variety of food trucks so my friend and I just got a little taste of everything. The atmosphere was great. I will definitely be back.
The Broad is one of my favorite places in Los Angeles. It’s art inspires so many people and it’s a place where people of all ages can go and everyone will get a different perspective. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The infinity room has a waiting list that is worth the wait. get wait listed then walk around the museum or get lunch and plan to come back for the infinity room. Simply nothing negative to say about this museum. Did I mention it’s free?
Had a fun time bringing the kids here. Took some pretty cool pictures, had some street bacon wraps and walked around for a bit. Great place to visit for a family night or on a date. The line could get kinda long so I would suggest buying the tickets online before. Two separate lines when showing up. The one with pre-tickets is short n really fast. and the long line for people trying to buy tickets n get in.
It was honestly one the of the best museums I went. The balloon art were very cool, i love the dog one . But I’m still kinda sad how it’s closed right now, I really felt like going there
I really liked their motto free art for everyone. General admission is free. Waited for about 5 min. The collection was great. Mostly modern artists works. We took about 2 hrs to look around. You can take longer. The building was also a piece of art.Special exhibition requires admission fee. Some you have to sign up before.Loved it. Great place to appreciate art in LA.
I first become aware of this museum through a East West Bank calendar. I came along with a few friends because they want to see The Disney Concert Hall. I have to say that I love, love, love this museum! The museum architecture itself was interesting and distinct among the high raises. It was designed specifically as a museum with the controllable window, high lighting.Art collections is impressive! Check out the storage room through the windows by the staircase. Contemporary arts is intriguing and provocative! The imagination and creativity of the artists are impressive!Do all the research and reservation to maximize your experience. Plan out your day. We only planned to see the free exhibit so we stayed about a couple hours. Wait time was about 20-30mins on a Friday late afternoon without reservation. For sure will return to see the mirror room and other exhibits.
I’m a huge fan of art museums, especially contemporary and modern art. I love the fact that the Broad is free (just make sure to book ticket reservations in advance). I came here with a couple friends for an afternoon and was really surprised with how cool the space and pieces were. I won’t spend too much time explaining all of the art, but please do yourself a favor and reserve some tickets and get down here to see for yourself. Also-great space for selfies and photos!
The collection is phenomenal. I went in search of Mark Bradford and was thrilled to also find Basquiat, Warhol and Jasper Johns and discover Kara Walker. Beautiful building. Great flow. I love the timing, it makes for easier, less crowded viewing. Will definitely go again to see the new rotation of exhibits.
Very suggestive place, characterized by futuristic and very particular architectures, almost unique.the structure hosts important contemporary exhibitions and the staff is very kind and qualified.ideal to spend at least 2 hours to appreciate evolved paintings, technologies and sculptures. parking spaces everywhere for those who want to travel by public transport.in the area you can also find excellent dining options and good Italian cuisine, with Italian espresso, and its not a small thing.recommended!
A must from any contemporary art lover. In the collection there are Andy Warhol and other artists. A beautiful building an around. Plenty a photo op places to enjoy as well as enjoying the beauty and the natural light of the building.
I love the academy of sciences but it can be a lot with the crowds if people and children. The nightlife cuts that in half and takes out kids and gives you what feels like an exclusive experience. Drinks are about 13 but theyre strong and tasty! Happy to have finally experienced it the way it should be!
The way the infrastructure of the honeycomb design on the outside of the building let’s the light in is so cool to see from inside. It’s the best way I’ve seen diverted light in a museum. I’m always in Awe when I visit even the general area. For something like their Soul of a Nation special exhibitions, they are offering days of the week to view it for free. And that’s pretty sweet.
A great example of modern contemporary art. Great architecture. Small but impactful. Some display choices could be merited however overall solid. Free admission for great pieces of art. Thats pretty good in my book. Just make sure to book tickets in advance.

Always a good time. I would check the website to see what the exhibits are before you go. When they are installing a new one, half of it is closed. If you try to reserve tickets, it will be most likely sold out, but they always have a stand by line. During peak travel/ tourist season, if you plan on going with stand by, I would go one hour before it opens to Wait in line (May be 1.5 hours on sat and sun or if new exhibit) if not, expect to wait 2 plus hours. Most of the time it is free sometimes they charge for either half or all of the exhibits but the most I have ever paid is 15 dollars.I personally like to start at the opposite path and walk through the rooms backwards so it is not as crowded. Also, grand central market is close by and is a cool spot to eat, snack, drink or hang out. I love the BroadInfinity room hacks:1. Go first thing in the morning and when you enter the museum make a b-line to the infinity sign up kiosk on your left2. When you sign up you get text alerts, save your ticket your time will be for some long time in advanced (it will be actually 1/3 of the expected time most of the time since most people give up)3. If it is a long time, the museum takes about 1.5 hour and the moca is a five min walk and is also free so I sometimes go to that while I wait or go grab a bite4. If you go and the kiosk says it is closed. Wait in front of it. It will open as people drop out. This usually works up until 3 hrs before closing
If you are fan of contemporary art, then you must go there. Otherwise you may not understand importance of the art work what these guys have. I am not a fan of contemporary art but its a good one time visit in LA downtown. Also make sure to book a ticket which is free but they will allow limited people to enter at a certain time slot. So check ticket booking prior to visit otherwise you may have to wait for half an hour to one hour.
Amazing museum! We reserved tickets in advance and got in on time, but they still ran out of tickets for the infinity mirrored room before we got to the front of the line. :( We still saw the smaller exhibit, though, and thought it was very cool. I enjoyed seeing the Warhol and Lichtenstein works and the museum was easy to navigate. My three kids enjoyed it as well and the staff was kind and helpful.
The broad was amazing to say the least, there are not enough words I can put into this review to show the level of excitement I had when I say a Basquiat and some of Jeff Koons installations. I did not get to see infinity mirrors but I already have tickets to go back.I think from an overall spectrum it’s one of the more unique museums I have been to, I would say the earlier you can go the better to avoid crowds. The are is very much eclectic and beautiful I would say, really eye opening as you walk through the museum.
This is a really nice museum. It was fantastic! A must visit for art lovers like me, if youre ever in the Downtown LA area. Really worth it.
This museum is one of my favorite. Its always so clean and everyone is professional and kind. Its refreshing to see employees that reflect the atmosphere of the museum and make you feel welcomed into the galleries. Its a beautiful place to take photos and for general appreciation. Checking out the newest art installation is a MUST. Waiting the hour or so is definitely worth it.
A fantastic contemporary art museum located in downtown LA. The entry fee is free. The art collection is outstanding. The wait was ridiculous in the summer - 90 mins. Try to beat the crowds. We thought it was an ideal way to spend a couple of hours away from the burning heat, but the 90min wait did not help — long lines due to it being free.Tips: Go early and beat the crowds.
I really love and enjoyed my time here. Nice exhibit. Its a must see if you ever make it in Downtown L.A. I will definitely visit again.
Loved this modern museum. It never disappoints. Fairly small with 1-2 floors. There are plenty of exhibitions and expect to spend 1-2 hours here. The infinity mirrors room will take about a 2-4 hour wait but well worth it. Its best to reserve all tickets online. Overall, great museum and a must visit when in LA
Really fun and interesting art exhibition. Reservations are a must and free online. Modern art but not pretentious.
Really neat museum that’s FREE! I loved the setup and they had some really cool art on display. Would definitely visit again.
The Broad Museum is the newest contemporary art museum in downtown LA and houses the philanthropist Eli Broads art collection. It has a honeycomb-like exteriorand houses 2,000 works of art in the Broad collection, among the most prominent holdings of postwar and contemporary art.According to a recent report, millennials are flocking to the Broad Museum. The average visitor age is fourteen years younger than the national average for art museum attendance in the U.S. The appeal starts with colorful edgy art, such as Jeff Koons glaring, gold-hued sculpture of Michael Jackson and his chimp, Bubbles, and Takashi Murakamis psychedelic-looking, dancing mushrooms. The museum is also located downtown, increasingly an entertainment and nightlife hub. And, to top it all, the admission free.
I was sad finding out i couldnt visit the infinity room. No one told us it was a limit on how many people go in a day. Had i known that wouldve been my first stop. This place is a art lovers imagination playground. My favorite is the huge furniture that no one is allowed to touch. It wouldve been dope to take a pic sitting in one chair.
First of all, its a free art museum but you better make a reservation in advance if you dont wanna wait in the long line. The staff members were nice and helpful, and its definitely worth a visit if you are around the place.
The museum is amazing the soul of nation was spectacular like you walked back into time and space. To the infinity mirror exhibit. Just wish you could gotten more then 45 sec for a two hour wait for the infinity mirrors. Was expecting like a minute or two hard to take so many pics. 3 stories beautiful artwork. Some staff members are nice the other were rude. You can tell they were so agitated and over their jobs. Didnt stop my friend and I for having an amazing time parking was ridiculous even with it waived it was null and voided only waived for 2 hours like seriously. The art work just amazing
My favorite museum in LA. The Takashi section alone is enough for a great experience, but the fact that it is free to check out...10/10
Know before you come. Register online for a free ticket... or you will have to stand in line with and be let in if they have room. People who registered online are given priority entrance. Come super early if you want to get in the line for the light room exhibition. This is an amazing place... that you must visit when in LA.
Free access to art museum, can you ask for more? A collection of statues, paintings and more, that can delight your art lover alter ego. Famous Giant Blue Dog in exhibition. Only minus is the time to get inside the museum, approximately 20 to 30 minutes if you select the free option.
Pretty cool, modern art installations. You can get tickets online to avoid line ups.The infinity mirrors require a second ticket/queuing up so do that as soon as you arrive. You can explore the nearby area in the mean time if you finish early since they notify you when to return for check in.Also the entry is free which is fantastic for budget tourists.
If you like museums you will love this place. Really nice exhibits. A must see! If youre ever in L.A. you gotta pass by and check it out.
This is a great museum for the younger crowds. It is convenient close to many restaurants, parking is valet and it is free. You have to make reservations ahead of time.
A free museum is a wonderful thing. The Broad is rather small as museums go, but it has some lovely collections. There is also the option to pay for specific temporary exhibits.I recommend booking your visit online, since the queue can be rather long for walk-ins, especially on weekends.
So much great art and free admission if you wait in line. We went mid-week so was very easy to get into. I also love that they allow you to photograph the art. I would highly recommend a visit when in DTLA!
LOVED IT! We started off in the line where you didn’t have to buy tickets, but the wait was extremely long so we ended up buying tickets since staff was going around and asking. Honestly, it’s better off just getting tickets because you get so exhausted standing in line and it was chilly when we went. Sign up for the infinity mirrors before going upstairs since the wait time can be over an hour. The art pieces are unique and it was a good experience.
Fantastic museum with a massive free area for visitors to see if they are short of cash. Also great exhibitions in which you can pay to see. All round a great museum with really good customer service - the staff were very friendly.
One of the best museums in Los Angeles. Please be there by 6 PM as they close at 8 PM. If using public transport please alight at Civic Center Metro Station. It is 15 minutes walk from this Station. This is adjacent to Walt Disney Concert Hall. This is also near to Famous Grand Park. This place gives lot of photographic opportunities. This place is so clean and well organized.
Fantastic exhibition of Black American Artists works that capture the mood of the black revolution in the USA .. . 1963 to 1983. This prestigious museum . . . The Broad . . . is exactly the right venue for such an important period in history. Exhibition is on until late September. I m honored to have been invited to the opening party and arrived early enough to enjoy the art works with my company before the crowd happened. A must visit for all! I will again.
Beautiful, large, and clean! It was a bit busy, but thats to be expected on a Sunday. Staff was friendly and admission is free, so cant complain!note: gift store prices are high!
Great exhibits. Contemporary interior design and use of space. Especially like how the escalator was aesthetically integrated into design. Appreciate that museum is open FREE to the public on THURSDAY. Slight confusion on notification regarding scheduled time.to visit Infinity Room installation.
Visited once specifically for the Infinity Mirrors, and twice since with reservations to circumvent long lines, there is no doubt The Broad ranks among the best free collections of modern and pop art anywhere, the building itself stunning while items contained within including the likes of Koons, Warhol and Haring leave a lasting impression.
Spectacular museum. General admission is free if you Reserve tickets ahead of time online. Amazing works of art... Mostly pop art. Architecture of building is pretty.
The museum has some very cool pieces.Make sure you sign up for the Infinity Mirrored Room as soon as you enter so you can go after browsing the museum and you don’t have to wait that long. Also, if you can, reserve your tickets in advance from the website. It will save you from having to queue when you arrive.
Definitely a must to see place.Free entrance (make sure you make an appointment online and you registered to the mirror room as first thing when you get in to the museum )The parking $15 if you ask for validation at the museum if not they will charge you $20-$25 When you finish the visit this museum there is a nice building near take a look at it and you will not regret it.
A great place, innovative architecture, we didnt have a reservation, but were able to wait in line and got in pretty easily. You have to like modern art.
This is a great museum to come to if you don’t have any plans for the weekend or spare time during the week. I do recommend you reserve tickets online ahead of time! It saves you the time of waiting in a long line for at the door tickets. The art here is very unique and take your time observing every piece of art, to appreciate it. There are a few places near the museum if you want to grab a bite to eat after, which is very convenient. They do allow cameras, just as long as you turn off your flash. Bags are also allow but if they’re big bags I think they may have to search. Over all I enjoyed my time here and I place to come again! I didn’t get to go into the infinity room, because you have to reserve tickets for that separately from your admission tickets.
Good museum and its free! You can reserve online for tickets. We came here mainly for the infinity mirror, so the first thing after we get in is to sign up for that. We signed up at 1:30pm and get notified at 3pm on a Saturday, which is not too bad. But you can only get 45 seconds when entering infitiny mirror. Overall, the experience is amazing!
Super cool an amazing experience in the downtown. Tickets are free and just make sure you sign up for the infinity room as well downstairs as it is separate registration and fills up. The third floor is recommended to visit first and the scale of some of the art pieces is incredible. Parking is $15 and available in the basement if youd like. Staff was very friendly and the architecture scale is out of control. Nice washrooms on site. Make sure to check out the escalator elevator and staircase.
Lovely pieces of art for free admission, here are my favourites. Had to wait about 20 mins to get in and 1.5 hours to see the light room(better register online).
The architecture alone is worth the visit here. What an amazing building, inside and out. The place is bathed in natural light, making it such a pleasure to view the incredible art collection. The art is so very cool, and curated so well. The store on the ground floor is worth a stop, and the books sold are hard not to buy after being inspired by the art collection. Definitely park under the building as it is the most convenient. And make sure to reserve free tickets for entry as data ahead as you can.
An incredible museum. Ive been there many times and I live in San Diego. The building itself is a work of art. The exhibitions are always amazing. Saw the infinity room a few years ago and it was so impressive. The Basquiat collection.......incredible.I will always visit there at least a few times a year.
Pretty neat place to visit in downtown LA. We arrived right when they opened and only spent about 20 minutes in line. There was a bunch of beautiful art on display and the gallery was very clean.
Artsy! Lots of people but not chaotic.
The broad was so fun all the fine art and exhibits brings imagination to life. The polished steel art pieces is amazing. The Broad art Museum is my favorite place to visit in Downtown LA.
It was a little disorganized. I was very disappointed with thefact that despite doing RSVP for the general admission for the musuem, that it did not give us the opportunity to see the Kusama exhibit. The best method would have been similar to the ICA in Boston where they charged for the exhibit and made the tickets available online. Other than that, there was plenty to see especially the Basquiat pieces
Put The Broad on your must visit Museum in Los Angeles. Not only is the main exhibit floor architecturally awesome, the collection of artwork, sculptures and experiences is beautifully inspiring. The best part: It’s free! Just reserve ahead of time. It will be a most memorable visit!
Amazing Heritage and Art learned so much! Great knowledge
Love the museum. Entrance is free but the parking lot cost $15 just FYI. Good stuff in the shop. Very good option to visit and the mirror room too!
This is the first museum I visited when I first arrived in LA a couple years ago. It made a very good impression on me. The line can be quite long so I would strategize a bit and try to go at times when its less busy. The works in The Broad span a large range of contemporary styles, from more accessible/poppy/flashy works to complex and more interesting pieces. The variety in modern art means that theres something for everyone, even individuals who are less drawn to art museums. Highly recommend.
What a great space. Well organized and convenient parking. Seamless entry process and the art is just simply magnificent. Pity that some artists werent on display at the time of my visit, but that is just an incentive to come back again. If you are in LA, it is a must see stop. Best of all, its free entry. Simply love this place.
When you have visitors in town The Broad is a nice place to introduce your visitors to LA. Free entry but parking can add up to $15-$20. The infinity room as I call it is super cool. The line to get in was 2 1/2 wait, just to spend 60 seconds to take pictures. we did not sit around for two hours at The Broad. We walked down to Grand Central Market walked around, have lunch, have ice cream take the Flight little train up, a one minute ride for $1 and boom it was our turn to get a chance to see the infinity room.
One of the coolest museums I’ve been to. Contemporary Art is Simply Amazing! Is definitely come again soon!
Medium-sized museum that has some interesting pieces of art, it is free but I recommend to make a reservation online to skip the long line for the walk-ins (it is also free). Also if you want to get inside the infinity mirrors exhibition you need to register beforehand, so you should do it once you get inside the museum so you can kill the waiting time while actually watching the galleries.
This was an amazing museum!!️ The exhibits are well thought out and engaging. The staff were super informative, friendly, and downright nice. The museum is freeeeeee!!!!Parking in the garage downstairs can be validated and is only $15 for three hours. Have fun!
The building is an architectural gem in itself, and the artwork on display definitely warrants a visit. do get your tickets online ahead of time. valet parking is $20. one caveat - if you are planning to visit the infinity room, register immediately upon arrival. the wait during our visit was an hour and a half, which is longer than the amount of time you would normally spend viewing the galleries (typically about an hour).you are also permitted only 45 seconds in the infinity room, so if you are planning on photos, have your camera settings all primed before going in. the ground floor gallery also requires separate tickets. overall a great place to visit, but do expect to mill about for some time to see the infinity room (alternatively, be one of the first few guests into the premises when they open).
The broad was nice for the most part. The entry was free and the art work was alright. The wait time for the main attraction was too long so I didnt get to see it
There are a lot of museum in the area but this one has a special piece inside that made me specifically go here and spend more than 2 hours. A Yayoi Kusama infinity mirror is housed inside where you need to register to be able to see it. You go inside a room and there you have it, a masterpiece where you can see as far as the eyes can see.Truly an amazing experience to see her work.
I love this museum. It’s free of charge now and if you want to see the new special exhibits be sure to get your tickets early online. Parking is kind of a problem but they have a garage attached if you don’t mind paying. Breastfeeding moms they got you covered, you are aloud to be escorted upstairs to a private room.
This place is just splendid! I can imagine spending my days here if I were to live in LA. Beautiful building and modern art that you just want to inner we yourself into. Great place for a date as well as to come with a whole family. I just adore it!
The Broad Art Museum is an amazing spot to visit if you’re in the Downtown Los Angeles area. Even the outside of the building is architecturally captivating and incredibly hard to miss. You can visit this museum for free by simply giving them your e-mail address. There are many different exhibits here and you can easily spend about an hour or two walking and looking around this contemporary art museum.
The art work was ranged and people of all ages could enjoy it. been there twice now and the art work never bores me .
Uhhhh good,,!!!!!, his life I am so that I have no idea what you are a good thing to get it would not allowed looking forward with that I have been on his wife was in my own animated comedy central to a good thing to get it would have been able withstand it would not allowed looking forward in my own animated comedy and it has not allowed looking forward with that I have no idea to get to a good for me that I have been able withstand an attempt magazine in this year of this year
It’s very cool that you can visit such a great museum with numerous works of famous art workers. And that’s all for free!
Its pretty cool place to visit. Need more art though. Other then that nice place to go do.
One the best museums Ive ever visited, and Ive done my fair share. There is a lot of variety in artists and you are thrown into new interpretations and styles with every room you enter. Really remarkable that this is free!
A really nice place.. to spend an afternoon
This is a fun museum. We didn’t have tickets and had to wait like 30 minutes outside, and never ended up getting into the special exhibits as they had separate sign ups. That said, we saw them and I think they looked gimmicky compared to the rest of the museum. It’s basically a photo op and they time you for like a minute. The rest of the museum has some nice modern pieces. We enjoyed our visit.
This place is amazing. Totally deserve to visit this awesome architecture.
You will find some very interesting art at The Broad. Entrance to the museum is free but parking cost $15 and if youre interested in observing the galaxy room you need to RSVP a spot once inside. Overall had a great time and plan on coming back again.
I cant find right place in here, I think only some stores and places we can do, btw I really love all art onThe Broad, but this is great, amazing, and incredible place for any photoshoot. Between the imperial street.
Free art. Great collection and an awesome building to house it all under a single roof on the middle of downtown LA. We went for the permanent collection and werent disappointed. The Warhol pieces are always great to look at, and the staff are some of the best. There wasnt a single question that wasnt answered every time. Especially when they were art/assist related.
Great museum. Got lots of great ig photo
Free museum in downtown LA. Sign up for tickets and a time before you arrive. Totally worth the visit. Interesting pieces throughout about an hours worth of walking around.
I enjoyed my visit to the museum. The staff members were really nice and the students got a chance to view art in a different way. The staff, guides, introduced the student to a painting and asked questions about what came to mind when they viewed it. This gave the students the mindset that the artists express themselves through art and that each piece of art had a meaning behind it.
I am not really into modern art but the docent was wonderful and made art seem relevant! However, the Infinity exhibit was the most fascinating (see you he bright red and green photos for a glimpse.)
Great Museum with incredible art. If you going during the week days reserve your tickets at least one day in advance, otherwise you will have to wait a long period of time in line. By the way the entrance is free like a lot of museums in Los Angeles.
Such an amazing space, absolutely worth an afternoon if you are in the area. We were also able to catch the Soul of a Nation exhibit, which I highly recommend. Walking distance from Grand Central Market and the Bradbury building, other must visit spots in the area.
Great free museum. Has the famous infinity mirrors and some great contemporary art pieceIt isnt large but collection is quite ampleDefinitely a must visit if you like art
Great museum...YAYOI KUSAMAS INFINITY MIRRORS is a must see
A beautiful museum with a variety of artists and works. The tickets are free but I also ordered them in advance online. The employees are really friendly and the pieces are interesting. If you want to see the Yayoi kusama exhibit you have to register and most likely wait in line. It’s a 45 seconds in the room and max is 4 people in the room. Enjoy it while it lasts !
My partner and I got to go here on my first trip to California just a week ago, love the fact that they do reservations online so you can guarantee like a speed pass for a museum. You have the most efficient way of getting so many people into the space without feeling crowded. They should consider some sort of a staple food truck outside, or build out some sort of a Coffee Spot of their own to bring in Revenue with themed drinks or snacks. like to Gogan green tea.
I greatly recommend reserving tickets in advance when possible. Line outside grew quite long but as long as you reserve a free ticket ahead of time you can just waltz right in. Amazing collection. I personally didnt do all too much research on the museum before going and wasnt expecting to see such iconic and prolific pieces and artists. In the stairwell leading downstairs from the main floor there are little open windows to view some kind of storage or archive. Which I found incredibly interesting and was pretty facinated by. Amazing museum.
Its one of my favorite museums in LA. Houses a lot of famous pieces of art. The general admission to the museum is free, but you should reserve online to avoid waiting in a line (free). The infinity room needs another reservation, but I dont think there is an online system for that. You will have to do it at the museum.
Absolutely amazing, would recommend to look into the events that they host. Went for the kid weekend and so much to offer. Awesome staff helps you along the way
FAVORITE ART MUSEUM IN LA !! My review might be slightly biased but this place is amazing. Not only does have WIDE VARIETY of interesting art but it’s also affordable and conveniently located. While inside it feels really RELAXED, unlike other museums that make you feel stiff while looking around. 10/10 recommend.
