I’ve only been twice. Both times on Sunday, not very many people were out, which is understandable due to their being a pandemic going on. I enjoy it because 1. The kids are able to learn how to skate without so many others being out on the rink and 2. We aren’t exposed to too many people. The establishment is kept clean and I’ve seen the employees actively sanitize the skates. The reason I give it two stars is because there is one woman that works there that makes it hard to enjoy yourself. It’s almost as if being there is an inconvenience for her, she’s not really enjoying being there. I get it who would want to be at work on a Sunday afternoon... but if you don’t like your job or you don’t enjoy kids or families having fun, then maybe rethink where you want to work or where you’d like to be on a Sunday afternoon. There’s not a lot too do in Longview and having a skate rink where kids and families can enjoy themselves is an amazing idea. Really brings back memories of SkateLand or Rollercade!!(older people know what I’m talking about! lol) Just wish they had employees that actually enjoyed their jobs to allow a more friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately my family and I will not be returning until they find some new UPBEAT and HAPPY employees or the current employees have a change of attitude. Buying some skates and skating down the Paul G. Boorman Trail can be just as fun.
This place is great! They have really sturdy, new rollerblades up to size mens 14, skates up to size 13.I went with some friends during school hours and we were the only ones there! The person at the counter was super kind and helpful, and they have a good selection of drinks and snacks too. (Including dippin dots!) The price to skate was only $5 and the lighting is really cool. Everything was really clean and smelled new. I am definitely going to come here more often! My only complaint is that they play a LOT of Kidz Bop covers of pop songs and I think some disco or techno would suit the environment much better.
I love it. Is the best place to go to and staff are really cool people
I give it 5 stars because they are organized. They have rules and they try to keep the environment safe. Good place.
The newly renovated RIO has something for everyone including roller skating in a pair of brand new quads or in-line skates, playing video games or air hockey, enjoying the large comedy club or even having lunch at the new creole and pizza buffet. Give this place a chance and you’re sure to be glad that you did. The bathrooms are large and kept very clean as well.
Nice place a bit expensive but if you have kids this is a great way yo enjoy time with them
Everytime I come in there is a lady with light blonde grayish hair she is about 52 not very nice. My first experience she was talking to me about how much it would cost and then I asked about the trainers to help the kids skate better, the whole time she was talking to me as if she had an attitude almost like she was irritated to even have to be there.. now this was the first time the second time I sent my son and nephew up to the snack area to buy some candy and( mind you they are only 8 ) the lady had asked him what kind he wanted but my son did not hear her very well because of all the Noise so he said ..huh? She then responded back to him with a loud and angry tone. I did not know this at the time until we got home after we all sat together talking about our day. I found this out I was upset as any parent would be. I told this to my sister who was not there with us and she had told me about her experience there at the same place with the same woman she said the lady is very unprofessional and very unpleasant. So I just thought I should warn other parents about the situation that occurred as a warning. If someone who works there is being unprofessional and hateful to children it would not be a great place to take your loved ones but if they got a friendly person to work there I recommend that place its clean the prices are reasonable they also have fun games to play.
This place is nice, the only problem I have with it is the fact that a lot of the things here didnt work.
Elvis was great service was g re at. Kitchen took forever to have our food out. Everyone around us ate except us. Very disappointed, really tried to support this place.
Kids had fun. We were the only ones there on Sunday which was great for them learning how to skate. Will be back next time were in town visiting!
The all you can eat fish & shrimp was HORRIBLE. I do not recommend eating there. In Reply: Yes it was this past Friday evening. It was Horrible Food. Made me SICK at my Stomach!Aiyna Or something like that Fish and Frozen SeaPack shrimp. Terrribl! Will never come back
We went on the July 4th and had a great time! It was spotless and the rink was much bigger than I thought it might be. I’m sore today
Friday, August 7, 2020I patronized the establishmentwith hopes of a new hot spot to eat and listen to a band. But turns out the food was awful and the service was even worse ! I do NOT plan on going back !!
It was a blast. $40 for all six of us on family night. Definitely be bringing more folks with us next time.
Love it! Laid back, friendly,& cares about the customers. Good for the kids! Idk how somebody could have the audacity to even compare to Gforce. Gforce stinks, smells like rotten diapers! The Reo itself is awesome. History stands. Concerts, dancing, fun, etcc,& now for skating. Thank you Skateplex L- view & Gilmer! Do what u do. We love you!
The staff was very friendly. Me and my family enjoyed ourselves here.
Its great that Longview finally has a skating rink again and theyve managed to make a fairly decent transition from night club to skating rink....except for the actual floor of the rink itself. Instead of installing a traditional wood floor that was the full size of the area thats the designated skating rink, they kept the relatively small wooden dance floor and just painted the concrete area around it. This resulted in very rough and bumpy transitions between the concrete and wood areas that have the potential to be dangerous.
Very nice owner, great family place but floor is very bumpy/uneven/ slippery. If you’re a professional skater looking to skate, I don’t recommend this place.
Great food as usual!
So fun and very clean!
I would have given it a 5 star but, unfortunately there was a man on skating that was very rude ! We have little ones that didnt know how to skate. And so I saw these skating holders that they could use . But the man proceeded to say we couldnt use them cuz they didnt have a yellow band on. So my kids gave up on skating. If I knew we had to rent them I would have, I didnt know and saw no sign on renting them out . But I sure did see other kids some with bands and some with out and still using them . Where was he then !
$10 per adult to watch your kids skate? I witnessed 4 adults walk out in front of me when they were told it was basically $23 dollars each for their kid to skate as they had no intrest to skate. Never been to a place where you have to pay to watch your kids play. Take notes from G Force. They have been here awhile and very successful. When the new wears off this will go under unless things change as the prices are absolutely ridiculous for non-skaters. It turned me away and I dont even have financial issues like alot of parents do Im sure. I refuse to be charged for me to stand and watch. Its almost like your wanting parents to drop their kids off and leave them by charging them to stand and monitor their kids safety. Ridiculous.
Was very excited to visit but turned around and left when we realized we had to pay 10 bucks per adult that wasnt skating. I dont understand why as parents we had to pay 20 bucks for us to watch our kiddos skate. Longview is a hard place to last in and definitely in that location. We werent the only ones that turned around and left. If u want to drop ur kids off and leave this is a great babysitter for you but if u plan to spend time with ur kids plan to pay for it
There is a lady at the front desk she’s MEAN like MEAN MEAN
Fun and affordable
Had a blast
So fun
Kid friendly
