Speer Chapel is beautiful. It is the only original building still standing from the original Harmon General Army Hospital upon which LeTourneau University was built, and it is a building that has survived a lot of change. From being used as a storage facility for old equipment, to being moved to a different location on campus, to its restoration and recognition as a historical landmark and its recent renovation, Speer Chapel has been many things to many people. For me, it has been as much a home as any place in this world has ever been; a refuge, a place of peace. I love that the University has chosen to keep this precious piece of history.
