This place is perfect for the kids! They are wonderful at what they do here at this dance place. When covid started they sent out an email survey to know if people wanted to continue the season or start new. They left it up to us! How wonderful. We are going to dance here as long as my granddaughters want to. There is no better place to dance in this town.
The owner and staff are amazing, friend environment for your kids to learn and grow.
My grand child has been going to High Step Dance Academy for the past 5 years. My granddaughter LOVES it there. Her dance teacher Daisy Case has been nothing but PROFESSIONAL, FAIR, CARING, GOOD ROLE MODEL & AMAZING!!!!! When i ask what it is that she likes about dance class she said Daisy is always smiling and she challenges me. I want to grow up and be a dance instructor too. There it is, out of the mouth of babes!! Happy granddaughter, happy nana! We will continue going to High Step because it is one of the best dance studios we have been involved with♡♡♡
This will be our 3rd year at High Step. My daughter loves it a lot. Good staff. Good parking. Good recital. Highly recommended. My daughters friends will be coming to High Step from another dance place in town. They were surprised how kind and sweet the owner is. They were hesitant due to other reviews that spoke so poorly. Im a guy and I think there are ill natured people picking on the business owner for no reason. The office lady is older and funny and gives me a good experience each time I pay my bill. I wanted people to know that this dad wants to tell the area High Step is pretty fricken awesome. They have a boy dancer who is in a music video. They really know how to be a good business.
Nice Place! We have been happy with this dance studio. I am in shock at how calm and professional the employees act. I have witnessed some people throw fits and act out in the waiting area. The parents throwing fits think they are pageant moms and are completely out of line. Never once have I seen a bad situation that the studio actually started. They really handle the crazy people who think they are pageant moms. I will continue to keep my kids going here. I dont have any problems with communication, atmosphere, professionalism or teachers. I read a review that claimed teachers didnt show up but this was when it snowed and the studio provided subs. I have to laugh at the single star reviews because these are people I saw acting poorly. Thank you A High Step Dance Academy for providing a great atmosphere and customer service.
I highly recommend High Step Dance Academy. My daughter has been dance there for 5 years. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. They treat you like family. Daisy is the owner and is such a sweet lady. We have nothing but good to say about her and the studio. Dance comes from her heart and it show everyday. My child has learned so much from her. She Amazes me every year that she pushes my child to be the best dancer she is today. With out Daisy to push her she wouldnt be able to do the thing she can. We Love High Step Dance Academy.
My daughter has danced here since she was 2, she is now 6! She absolutely loves it! She loves the teachers and staff! And is always looking forward to going to class! They have treated her like family... treated us like family! I highly recommend this studio! We drive about 40 minuets and it’s worth it!!
Wonderful dance program! I am writing this because Ive experienced this dance program for 6 years while my grand daughters dance. Everything is as it should be for a childrens after school program. I heard another dance place in town has been giving High Step bad reviews. This should be illegal! This place stole High Step teachers and is creating bad publicity for High Step. With this going on High Step holds its head strong and never stoops to the low level this other studio is. I am glad we picked High Step to show my grand babies to always be the bigger person. High Step is a great place for kids!
If your looking for a place that teaches dance, then i highly recommend High Step! My daughter loves it there. The owner and staff are great people. They take dance seriously and professionally no different than a coach teaching a child playing baseball, football, Soccer ect.
High Step is such an amazing place! The owner and all the teachers are so awesome! They are taking their own time and teaching these amazing children how to dance!! I danced here as a child and I loved it so much!!!
Horrible dance studio!!! I will not recommend this dance studio to anyone. Save your money. It’s a huge joke!!! Very expensive for what u receive, very poor communication, teachers are very rude and disrespectful, disorganized, don’t get the right paper work and when you ask a question they have no answer to it and just say not there problem because they already make money off u. I wish I would have read the reviews and how they operate this dance studio before I signed my daughter up. Save the headache and your money. They don’t treat the dancers fairly and they obviously choose favorites it shows. My daughter didn’t even learn as much as I expected coming from that dance studio I would have expected more. Huge disappointment!!
My daughter loves to dance and was so excited to dance and it makes me sad that this studio ruined that for her. She eventually would cry and begged not to go (which is not her typical character.) She wasnt comfortable being there and I can understand why. The communication toward the students and parents is un-professional. The teachers who kept us going there left and we followed. Focusing more on building relationships with the kids and family would help build their business. I feel bad for the parents paying so much money to have there kids attend this studio. There are many other studios available with professional and caring staff and a comfortable environment for the kids.
Terrible with billing, teachers are teenagers who use power play and threats to be kicked out of class in the classroom. Very rude to most students especially backstage during recitals and rehearsals. Very disappointed in this dance school.
High Step is the best thing that ever happened to me. I have been dancing for 10 years and I have developed a dance family. The owner of High Step is Daisy Case. She is an amazing teacher and so caring. Shes supportive and fair with her choices. I couldnt ask for a better studio and dance family!! Go High Step Dance Academy
I would be so incredibly ashamed if I was the owner of the business. My daughter was in their hip hop/acro class from October 2018 to her June 7th recital (2019).From start to finish we had horrible experiences with this school. Their only concern is money money money. The classes are $45 a month, plus $16 T-shirts, $71 dance outfits, $18 recital tickets, sweatshirts and sweatpants, etc. etc. Theyre also trying to get $45 for June tuition when the recital was the 7th and the only thing before that was rehearsal and no normal classes, after I already spent $126 on recital tickets. Add to all their random extra costs, they only take cash, I personally own a square and no business so the absolute only reason I can think of to only take cash is tax evasion (maybe Im wrong but I cant think of anything else). The woman in the office is the by far the rudest person Ive ever run into in a customer service setting. She has no regards for the students or parents experience as long as they get paid.My daughter was measured for the recital costume by staff and they measured her 4 inches off which put her in a full size up. When we received it it was HUGE, the office tried blaming the costume company saying they probably ran out of the medium and only when I pressed further did they remeasure her and look in their order book to find the error they made. I consulted them about a partial refund because theres no way that Im spending $71 on an outfit a full size too big for my child. They altered it after pictures were already done and told me that theres no way the owner would do any amount as a refund. As a business if you make a huge error like that and its on paper responsibility should be placed on you. I told them that I was withholding a month tuition until I could speak to the owner about a partial refund. That was in March and I still havent heard anything. The night of the recital we had to drive down to California (13 hours) and had an appointment the following day, my daughters act was in the first half so during intermission I went to the back door to ask someone to bring her out so we could leave. The woman from the front office said they wouldnt let any dancers go before the end of the show (another full hour). I walked away, way too heated to even start with her, when I went back she was gone and there was women in the back Id never seen before that hurried to get her. Im not entirely sure when I signed over my custodial rights to them so they could hold my daughter in a building without my consent.During their full studio rehearsals and after recital parties they pack their building so full I can imagine it’s even close to their limits set by the fire Marshall and definitely could see it being a safety hazard if anything were to happen. To add to the poor business practices, they took off the option to review them of Facebook. Maybe they were getting too much honest feedback. All the good reviews I’ve seen are from employees.Overall this was BY FAR the worst experience Ive ever had at a business. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!
High Step Dance Academy is a great studio! I have gone there for 10 years and have won many 1st place and high score awards. The classes are always fun and the teachers push you to do your best without over working the kids. It is a very friendly environment, everyone there treats you like family. Great for little kids too because there are a lot of great older High Steppers to look up to! Love love love High Step!
Granddaughter loves it.
Best place in town! High Step Dance Academy is a legit dance studio. I can not believe the bad reviews! We have had three different dance teachers at this studio and we have not had any problems. There are some student teachers but my daughter actually learns more from the student teachers! The owner runs the studio in a professional manner. Information is always available and hard to miss. I would recommend this dance studio to everyone in town because they offer something for everyone! There is a competition team and regular classes. The recitals are amazing and they are involved with the community. Best place in Town!
I love High Step!!!! I am currently a dancer there and have been for a while. The overall BEST thing about High Step is how close everybody is. We are a dance family. We go to multiple conventions, competitions and perform in cool places such as disney world, cruises, etc. While we have the small town family vibe, we learn life lessons and how to be professional and prepares us for other opportunities outside of longview as well. Daisys choreography is amazing and always tells a story. She explains and teaches technique in many ways so each student can fully understand and grasp whatever concept she is focused on at that moment. Anyone who has gotten to know her knows that she is extremely experienced and truly loves teaching. I can say that she is one of the most influential people in my life and I know I am learning more than just dance, I am learning how to live and be a genuinely good person. I would recommend High Step over any other studio in town, hands down.
Incredibly poor communication and customer service. Favoritism is also evident from instructors. Not a healthy experience for my child.
Everybody is like family
I really want to do gymnastics and that is my dream.
Very unprofessional. waste of time and money only the good dancers good instructors
