Nice people went in with my 10 year old niece. Didnt have the slightest clue on how it worked, but one of the ladies showed us how the whole process works. You pick a piece to paint for their large selection. Each piece has a price that includes paint, glaze, and baking in the oven. Then you come back in about a week to pick it up.

Fun evening with a friend, she made a vase and I re-created a family tree plate for my Mom that broke, and decorated a ring holder as a bridal shower gift. Have to go back in a week to pick up. Very organized, they had sponges and rubber stamps and stencils we used to create our pieces. Not too crowded, we werent rushed.

Weve visited here many times both at this location and the previous one. Always had a great time and enjoyed the results. Weve taken three of our children range 0-12 over the years and they have each enjoyed it, although the infant mainly took a nap. ;)

I took my 17 mo old to have his hands done on a plate for his dad for Father’s Day, the owner was super helpful. She helped me with his hands, (toddlers are difficult) they also offer free footprints up to 18 months I believe so we did that as well.I paid for a quick fire to have it done in time for Father’s Day, and she also had that stone ready As well when I only paid for one.We will definitely be back soon!!

This used to be a really awesome place to come, relax, and make some memories. In fact, I had to delete my five star review from a few years ago to leave this one.I’ve visited a couple times since the move and it’s simply not the same. It’s very rushed, the staff sits around gossiping, and the music sounds like you are trying to put a baby to sleep. When you take more than one visit to finish your piece, the staff seems upset and put out even when you have brought other paying customers.I still really enjoy the idea of painting pottery and the location is so much better than before, I just hope they find their new stride soon. For now, I’ll try some of the other painting places around town.

My daughter attended a 9yr olds birthday party here. Kids had fun but, they really need a bigger space for events. Kind of crammed into a small corner.

I’ve gone to the mud hut with my siblings since I was little and it has always been very fun. The changes recently have really improved the atmosphere. The staff is very helpful and will answer any question you can think up! The choices for the pottery is awesome, you can pick plates, cups, figurines, or even light switch panels to paint. The prices seem fair for paint your own pottery, I would just advise you keep an eye on how much it costs because you can be surprised by the prices of some pieces. There are plenty of paints, sponges, brushes, stencils, etc. that are easily accessible. I also appreciate how your piece will be done exactly one week later, it makes it easy to remember. I love the mud hut sooooo much and would recommend it to anyone!

My wife and I took our 7 yr. Old and 2 yr. Old to the mud for story time and Painting. The staff read a book and the kids Painted a pottery figure that related to the story. We had an amazing time the staff was extremely patient and kind with the kids as well as the parents the things you can create are endless possibilities but none more important than the family memories. Thank you mud hut, we had an amazing time

I like the idea of this place. I think it’s great for adults. My friend and I took our kids, all age 4, for a day out 9/26/19. We errr greeted at the door and asked if we needed any help Picking projects or paints. Never offered any help on how to do it or god objects, etc. There are signs posted everywhere about watch your children so you don’t have to pay for broken items which I totally understand. My concern comes from what do you do when the projects you pick and work on just fall apart in your hands??? My daughter picked a reindeer to paint. we sat right in front of the owner as she was working on a plate. I was helping my daughter paint the reindeer and holding it by it’s head. It literally just snapped off at the head and fell and broke into pieces. My daughter was devastated and embarrassed since everybody just literally stopped what they were doing and looked at us. I asked the young Asian girl who worked there (sorry to identify by race/ethnicity but she never gave her name) to bring me another reindeer and she acted as if that was impossible. I quickly explained I’d pay for the broken one and the new one because I couldn’t let my daughter leave without completing something but she still acted as if there was a problem. she had to go ask the owner who was sitting right in front of us what to do. the owner then said yeah they have to pay for both though. I had already said ok to that. That did not settle with me very well. I have a problem with the project breaking in my hands and I didn’t mistreat it or anything. I am ok with paying something for it but maybe not full price; at the most cost of the product and paint we had used. Best business practices would have been to say It’s ok, offered us another one at no cost because you have insurance to cover broken products or poorly made products. its one think to drop or knock over an item, but for it to break/fall apart in your hands and you have to pay full price for it is totally unacceptable.Secondly, while I would say this place is kid friendly, I would say the suggested age would be 7-8. they have a nook for kids to read and play but it’s clear they don’t like for it to be utilized. My friend and I could clearly sense that the establishment was on edge because we brought our young children. The young girl mentioned earlier, mumbled/mouth “oh my god, these kids are making my nerves bad” while our kids were playing in the little kids area. Our kids are a young 4 and by no means bad whatsoever but they are typical 4 year olds with loud voices and an excitement for life. At this point, I just wanted to finish our projects and get out. I no longer felt welcomed.I paid for my project, my daughter’s broken project, and the second one she created and hurried up and got out.I have an older daughter who I thought I would like to bring and maybe have her birthday party here but if I have to bring my 4 yr old (which I would), I don’t think we will be coming back. Like I said, I live the idea and would love to try again maybe even by myself but not here at this establishment.

I have been to The Mud Hut several times over the past 2 years and have enjoyed it every time. My only problem it that I cannot go there more often. Jenny and her staff are very friendly and helpful. There are many interesting classes you can attend . All different ways to paint pottery, glass art, clay art, etc, it seems something new is added all the time! they have story hours and birthday parties for the youngsters, that are always a big hit! She has Ladies Night Out once a month that is a blast for the women. She even has special events to get that special man of yours in to paint with you. Oh and for newborns she offers a hand and foot print plate FREE! If you have never painted in your life, or if you have but not tried pottery then you are in for wonderful surprises when you visit The Mud Hut and met Jenny and her helpers!!
