Great place to take young children. The permanent exhibit does a very nice job explaining local history. The Ruckus Rodeo art exhibit by Fred Grooms, was a very nice surprise. We spent 20 minutes looking at the art exhibit, alone.

I really wasnt expecting much but was very surprised! It delved into the history of Native Americans and the settlers and explorers that came in the 1800s. It also had displays of all the immigrant cultures that are infused in Longmont. There was also an impressive art display by Terry Maker that was innovative.

Great that they have a free exhibit area. But honestly, $8 entrance price was well worth it. Have a kids section and for one of the exhibits had kid friendly games and signs built into the info posters. Also likes the etched glass. World class exhibit in Longmont! Rodeo Ruckus!

My family absolutely loves the museum. There is something for everyone, the staff are extremely nice, and the facility is always clean and well-maintained. While it is small in comparison to other museums, it is usually not crowded...definitely worth stopping by!

Nice little town remember driving thru on Sat in the summer in the 60s when I was in grade school then driving myself in my 20s 30s 40s 50s now 60s. They have some remarkably nice old homes and parks. Altho lot of things are gone theres still some left and Im glad they preserved these.

Small museum that takes less than 30 mins to go through. Definitely not an all day activity. The children’s exhibit is very small as well. I’ve taken my young clients here for community outings on the free day (every second Saturday of the month), but I would never pay for admission. I don’t think it’s worth it.

One of my favorite museums. I like the Ansel Adams. They regularly have tours come through here. Fantastic place to bring kids, family, or friends. I particularly like that its affordable. Hope youll check it out soon!Hey everybody, did you know that you can find out about this and other museums just buy asking at the front desk here? Please keep driving safe out there and share the road, thank you.Hart

This museum is small but they offer a lot of great programs for kids in the 2-6 year age range. I like that they have rotating exhibits for varying interests. Right now is Ruckus rodeo, which as a whole was underwhelming. However, they do have a cute hands on rodeo center in the courtyard for kids, which I enjoyed more than the exhibit itself. Some of the permanent exhibits include history about Longmont, which is actually interesting to read If you have the time. Upstairs on the third floor is a treehouse exhibit, which my kids were really excited about because last time we came it only had a few magnetic tiles on a table. All in all, I think it’s a fun place to visit occasionally being that it’s close to home.

It looks bigger from the outside. The entrance fee is $8 for adults. I went last month when they had an exhibition for Early years of Photography for Ansel Adams. The setting was beautiful and it had a good collection of works and history. There was a smaller hall exhibiting other artist works.

Its just a small city museum. There was a tree house exhibit on display so that was the big deal at the time. Not jumping up and down about that but the kiddos had a fun time. Thats really the point right? We sacrifice as parents for our kids and Im glad there are resources available to give them dime history and perspective. There was also a Longmont history section that wad unique and interesting. Its nice to take the digital generation back in time and show them what it was like. I feel it allows them to be grateful and hopefully humbled somewhat.

I had low expectations for a smaller town museum, but I have enjoyed several concerts and exhibits here. Honestly, it is my wife who always finds things to see here, but I have a good time every time. The Ansel Adams exhibit is a great half hour. The Longmont history exhibit was very educational. I did not grow up here, but have lived here 20 years and I learned a lot. Two great concerts include a gypsy jazz band. Watch for things that interest you and check it out.

Had a great stormy Sunday indoors at the City of Longmont Museum! They had a large special exhibit that spoke of WW1 and its connections and impact on the local area which I found pretty thought provoking. Very educational without glorifying war. The Longmont rising section was a great view into the past of the local area and its growing pains. Make sure to see the moon rock on the second story!

Elaine did my daughters 6th birthday party. My wife had an idea to do a Project MC2 themed party. Elaine took the idea and ran with it. She did such a great job. She made some with the kids in an experiment style with hypothesis and sense type questions for the kids. She also had the kids paint a negative of their initials in a periodic table fashion. They also decorated a Project MC2 lab book and safety goggles. We couldnt believe how much thought and work Elaine put into the party. We were extremely appreciative and would highly recommend Elaine and her expertise in other art and science themed birthday parties.

The Longmont Museum has such a wonderful variety of options, from the local history exhibit, for both adults (good info) to children (great hands-on activities), to cultural activites too numerous to mention. Some of the recent highlights, in my mind, have included the Day of the Dead celebration, a cultural appropriation panel, and a variety of movies in the new Auditorium. Im hoping that the Taiko drummers will be visiting again this year as well as indigenous peoples activities.Something for everyone...what a gem Longmont has!

Just saw the Charles Russell & Frederic Remington exhibit at Longmont M&CC. Loved it!. Very well displayed, you can get right up to the artwork, see the brushstrokes of the artists. While Russell is my fav., I really like the Remington stuff as well. Find out lots of info about both the artists and work.
