Had such a blast here! 4 of us went and it was our first time doing an escape room, to celebrate my birthday. We did the tower and it was long, in-depth, creative and super fun! And escaped with 4 minutes left. The guide we had was funny and engaging and gave us the perfect amount of clues at the right time. I called the morning of and I think spoke to the owner for a recommendation and she said the tower was a good fit for us and it definitely was. We all cannot wait to come back!!

A group of 9 of us played the Swamp room and had a terrific time. We had Manny helping us through our escape and he was hilarious throughout the hour. We were a little bit rowdy, but his humor was definitely the highlight of our escape room. We learned he may not spell too well sometimes, but dont let that discourage you from attending this fantastic escape room. It only added to the experience and added to our laughs. The swamp room had some clever puzzles and was challenging enough that 9 of us didnt make the room ridiculously easy. We still came close to the time, and has so much fun. Manny really made the experience so much better. If you can play the swamp room with Manny, we highly recommend it. He deserves a raise for how awesome he was. Definitely will coming back.

Great Selection of escape rooms, the staff was very friendly, the place was very clean and even though I booked the last room at 8pm, he was kind enough to give us more time to solve the puzzle. Fun for all ages. DEFINITELY 5 Stars.

Tina was very enthusiastic about her escape rooms! Unfortunately, the game master was not very enthusiastic, the animal room did not have a story that made sense, and one of the locks did not work in the room. Again, the owner was enthusiastic but hopefully they can rectify this situation. Also - the owner has seemed quite defensive when responding to reviews and only accepts 5 star reviews. The purpose of google reviews is to give honest feedback that can hopefully help business owners.Thanks again!

Definitely returning. Fun for the whole family. They take precautions seriously here and the staff was helpful. The rooms makes you really think as a team. Communication is key. Must look up at the screen once in awhile to read the hints. Fun, fun and inexpensive.

This was great! We have done many escape rooms, and this was the best. Everything was well connected. We brought our kids for the first time, and they had a blast. It was great for the family. We escaped from the Animal Kingdom room! Additionally, the owners were so nice! We are definitely going back!

I see that the owner gets very defensive, so I expect that she might be upset at this review, but this was our honest experience:It was okay... The owner was helpful and very nice, but our game master was a little quiet and low-energy. Our Animal Kingdom room was a bit worn (one of the locks didnt work) and we didnt really understand the story - If youre familiar with escape rooms, it was very padlock heavy. Also, hints should be hints, not just explicit directions for what to do next. Plus, we didnt understand one of the puzzles, so we asked at the end and the game master said she didnt understand it either.The rooms look cool overall, and maybe we would try a different room?

If I could leave a 6th star I absolutely would, I went here and did 2 rooms back to back when we only planned on doing 1. It’s clear how much passion everyone has for this place and how much joy they have bringing people into their own little world that they created, absolutely recommend and will definitely come back.

Amazing experience! I now understand why there are over three hundred 5 star reviews! The room was filled with all different types of clues, locks, riddles, etc. The staff was exremely nice and made the room super fun. I plan on going back very soon. Thank you for a great time!

Did two rooms here; The Three Keys was fun and The Swamp was meh. The current difficulties I found were the staff interactions and the overall room qualities themselves. The staff were very nice but the instructions were sped through and it was just kind of awkward. The rooms were too challenging to where constant clues were being sent over the monitor in order to actually complete a task, even when we hadn’t asked. And there were some malfunctions in the mechanisms in the room. We managed to escape the room while skipping 4 puzzles. I appreciate the ideas and the overall business but taking time to refine and perfect the rooms along with some staff development may help overall business.

I have been to escape the puzzle room many times with family & friends and we’ve always had a blast! The owners are super nice and the rooms are just the right amount of challenging while also being really fun and creative!We love it here so much that in March my boyfriend, now fiancé, asked the owners if he could propose here during an escape. They were so wonderful about everything and were just as excited as we were. They helped him set it up and figure out all the details and it turned out to be the surprise of my life- it couldn’t have been more perfect. Thank you escape the puzzle room! I would give you 100 stars if I could!!

Went to Escape the Puzzle for a team-building outing (6 people total). We had a great time! We did the Carnival room which was very creative and well-thought out. The owners were really friendly and welcoming too. I would highly recommend it!

We did the Tower room and had a great time! We want to try all the rooms!Great aspects: Using all the available room(s), good size room, story and puzzles were engaging and unique!Things to improve: some mechanics didnt work right but were easily remedied, some hints were given too freely before they were asked but maybe they were needed to finish on time!

Great experience like no other escape room. These rooms are hand made and created to really challenge your brain. We did the speakeasy room and the decided that we had to stay and do another so we did the 3 keys. We were not disappointed with either room and were mentally fried by the end (in a good way). So many twists and turns and clues like Iv never seen before. What a great experience. We even had time to talk to the owners/designers of the puzzles and could just see their passion for creating these rooms. We will be back to try out the other 4 rooms soon!!!

My husband and I had been to one other escape room and enjoyed it so we took our friends to Escape The Puzzle this weekend in Long Branch, NJ. Wow! We had such a fabulous time, laughing and getting so excited whenever we found another key!! The staff were so personable from the first phone call we made to them until we said our long goodbye and filled them in on our fun! Go to Escape the Puzzle - its the best!

My kids and I love this place! The owners and staff are all wonderful people and their escape rooms are highly creative, challenging, very smart and lots of fun - weve now done all the rooms and truly enjoyed every one of them - you cant go wrong no matter which one you book. Weve done escape rooms all over New Jersey but Escape the Puzzle in Long Branch is our favorite by far - we highly recommend it!

My family from Europe and I experienced one of the room and we had a great time. The owner was really really sweet and helped us with clues that were cultural and we were not used to. The room was really challenging but a lot of fun. We will definitely try another room.

Tonight, Wayne & Rita Applegate and their team of friends (7 in total) again faced evil (not really) genius Tina and her trusty assistant Quinn as we entered the Santa Claus Room and emerged victorious with just 35 seconds to spare! Escape the Puzzle is the ONLY Escape Room that we recommend unabashedly to friends and family. The puzzles are challenging and devious, but I cant share any secrets. You must go for yourselves and face the challenge. We will keep going until we have conquered all the rooms in this Mansion of Challenges! All I can say is Get a group together and go here!

Just leaving the escape room we decided on the carnival and it was great. Had a great experience very creative and multi room which is hard to find at other locations. We had had a great time and enjoyed ourselves we will be back soon!!!! Recommend to everyone looking for a fun time with friends or family!

If youre looking for a challenging, different escape room this place has it. All of the puzzles are very well thought out and not your average cookie cutter predictable escape room puzzles. The staff were very friendly and pleasant, cant wait to go back again!

Just left the escape room, we picked the carnival. This was the first time ever coming here but it was great and will def be back soon! Very clean organized great staff and very fun and creative. The 5 of us went as a gift to our niece who loves these puzzle rooms. This is the first weve seen in a house. The staff is awesome and very helpful since we needed some clues to escape the Jungle Room. Enjoyed the backstory for room and working together to escape.

This was my favorite escape room! I did the speak easy and it included everyone not just one person doing it all! Gabe also included history about prohibition and even introduced his wife who made everything herself! So creative and so friendly! This escape room makes you use your brain! Can’t wait to come back and do the swamp room as well.

Awesome! This was my first experience of an escape room and this place exceeded my expectations! I not only had fun but I felt pretty good about winning the game The sets were incredible! You truly got lost in that scene. Will absolutely be coming back to challenge myself again!

This is one of the best escape rooms Ive ever been in. All of the puzzles were intuitive, clever and well-designed. At no point was I frustrated or mad at the game, and I was consistently awed at how each clue developed and progressed me through the game. Would certainly try one of their other rooms and couldnt recommend this one more highly.

What an amazing time our friends and family had! We were a pretty large group (18 in total) in a wide range of ages (3-46yrs old). Everyone had a blast! Tina, Gabe and our Game Master were awesome. Definitely a must do if you’re in the area!

I am a frequent escape room goer, and out of the 10-15 rooms I have done, this establishment had one of the most detailed rooms I have ever seen. “The Swamp” is an elaborate, extraordinarily decorated & complex escape room that will definitely challenge you. Tina is an incredibly talented engineer who has a brilliant mind for creating these rooms! Her and Gabe were fun and extremely helpful and polite. I can’t wait to go back and try out their other rooms. Nice and helpful staff. Rooms are fun and challenging. Great place to spend an hour or two. Make sure you book an hour in advance as they wont let you buy a second room while youre there. Overall great experience!

We had a great experience! Will definitely go back for the Carnival and Swamp rooms. I brought my two teenage sons with me and their grandmother and we all had a great time. The Speakeasy room was great and the owners were great especially since most of us were first timers. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes figuring out puzzles and clues!

We did the Carnival and it was so fun! Ive been to other escape rooms and this was by far the most creative and entertaining. The attention to detail was amazing. Wow, is the best way I feel to describe my experience. To start the people there were awesome polite and high energy which I loved. We did the Speakeasy room which was well themed and the puzzle fit the description. I had an amazing an time trying to figure out the clues and advancing through the puzzle. I am always late to post anything, but anyway LET ME TELL YOU! People you are definitely missing out if you havent tried this escape experience it is VERY well done you will not leave feeling disappointed. Wanna talk about family fun it was great we love to laugh and are a very competitive family, when it was time to start we were bumping into each other cracking up, not because we were cramped because we are goofy! loads to do and lots to figure out, and no its not preschool easy, but its not Einstein hard either trust just go!

My girlfriend and I had so much fun here, we did the tower which is perfect for two people, we ran out of time with maybe two steps left, the cool part is the Game master will run you through what you missed when your time expires. This really was amazing for our first escape room and we will definitely be returning for more soon.

Went yesterday with a group of 5 for a friend’s birthday. I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. From the moment we walked in we were greeted warmly and knew we were going to have a great time. The staff was amazingly helpful In our journey and really wanted us to be as successful as we could be! I would 100 percent recommend this place and I can’t wait to go back and try different rooms!!

Our family had a great time at the “Swamp” yesterday. All 9 of us, 5 adults and 4 kids ages 10 - 15, had a lot of fun. Tina was very welcoming and gave us a great summary and introduction. The room had a wide variety of puzzles and all ages were able to participate. It was a great hour of fun and even though we didn’t make it (we almost escaped) we all enjoyed the experience and we’re still talking about it hours later. Highly recommended, we look forward to returning again in the future to try other rooms.

This was the best escape room experience we had. My daughter loved it so much shes trying to gather a posse of kids to go the very next day (today). I loved it so much Im getting a posse of adults to go. The puzzles, props, storyline and presentation were excellent. Two people werent enough for the Speakeasy but we got pretty far anyway and the guidance was very helpful. Highly recommend.

First time escape room players, went with a group of 5. New location with one two-room puzzle, was a lot of fun. Puzzles kept us on our toes, had a nice theme going on, and were really well set up. The absolute nicest couple run the business. Looking forward to the new rooms they are building. Reasonably priced as well. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to check it out.

My wife and I planned a spontaneous Sunday visit to Escape the Puzzle and couldnt be happier that we did. We knew as soon as we walked in - and were greeted excitedly by owners Gabriel and Tina - that we made a great decision. Though we were defeated by the puzzle, we had an incredible time and were thoroughly impressed by the attention to detail present in every aspect of the homemade challenge. Couldnt recommend it any more highly and were looking forward to avenging our defeat soon!

My friends and I were looking on Google for a fun and time-worthy escape room and we found Escape The Puzzle!As soon and my friends and I arrived, we were greeted by Tina and Gabe who were so friendly we felt like weve known them for years. They showed us into the escape room puzzle and thats where the real fun began!I definitely recommend this place to any and everybody whos interested in doing escape rooms or those who have never done it before. Yes, yes, and yes. Unique escape room.Update: LOVE THIS PLACE. One of the most uniquely crafted escape rooms in the area. Everything is mom and pop, and you likely wont find ANY of their puzzles anywhere else. Thats basically 45 puzzles (if each of their 3 rooms had 15 puzzles each) that youve never seen before. So creative.

My boyfriend and I have done many many escape rooms and this one easily in the top 3. The couple who runs it are amazing! Makes us almost want to get into the business ourselves! So much fun! Highly recommended! Cant wait to go back (:

The creativity of each of their rooms (and Ive done all three!) is through the roof! I cant wait to see what they come up with next!!

We had so much fun in the first room (speakeasy) we planned a birthday party to escape the newest room (swamp). Excellent puzzles and the atmosphere of the rooms makes it feel like you are stepping into a completely different time and place. Cant wait to go back.

Went tonight with my family 3-2-18. Had a great time almost made it out. Needed a lot of help and Tina was more then willing to help with the clues. I did carnival with my family because my 8yr old was with me and he enjoyed himself also. I am looking forward to going back in the near future. Gabe was hilarious great sense of humor. Staff very friendly, the most well decorated/themed rooms. Very unique, surprised in the number of puzzles/mini games and detailed work done. We did the Carnival and oh man couldnt have been happier with the choice. We saw a preview of Swamp and really wish we had more people to do it. Escape the Puzzle was awesome!! We took my dad for Fathers Day so we had a group of 6 adults...Tina and Gabe were so great with us and made us feel so welcome, they spent time talking to us both before and after we were in the room. The puzzles were all made by Tina, we were blown away by how impressive they were. We found the room to be challenging but in a good way, we were only a few minutes short of getting out. We also really appreciated that they took the time to go through the last few steps with us, that would have driven us insane to not know. Thank you guys so much for a great time, we will definitely be back to check out your new swamp room!

Never did an escape room before... I was so happy we went. It was such a fun hour... great set up... friendliest owners... all we could was that it was awesome. We are going back to try and escape the second room thats underway ... when you are in the area this is a must do!!

Seriously one of the best escape rooms Ive been to. It was very immersive, creative, and hands on. The puzzles were very unique and were so enjoyable. I went with my siblings, husband, and parents; we all had an amazing time. I think it really got my parents hooked on escape rooms now. ALSO the owners are legit the nicest people Ive ever met. I can not speak highly enough of this experience.

Having participated in puzzle room experiences in other cities, I can honestly say this beats them all, hands-down.
