I spoke to a caseworker over the phone, he was fantastic. He made me feel great and gave me all the resources I need. I would definitely recommend any one who is in need. Thank you guys, I hope to hear from you!

Not sure what they do here anymore. Is there even a point to the center. Just seems like a empty building now.

I called the Center nearly a month ago to get an intake. They finally called me two weeks later (they always call from blocked numbers, so if you miss it, good luck getting another one for at least a few days) and I was able to eventually schedule an intake. The intake call happened about 20 minutes later than scheduled. That is fine, as I also work at a busy agency and understand that crises can happen. The intake actually went very well and the coordinator let me know that a therapist would call me when they found a match. I got a call the next day stating that they would move me forward with services and to, of course, look for a number from a blocked line. A week went by with no call, so I called the intake office again and left a voicemail. Its been another week. Nothing.Center, many of the people who call you are in need of services. Perhaps I didnt appear to be in much of a crisis, and that would be true, but it does not mean that I am not in great need of services. I am. I would at least appreciate a courtesy call to let me know that you are unable to provide services at this time. Believe me, I work at a youth shelter; crisis abounds and its difficult at times. But I would never leave someone hanging.I respect the work you all do, Center, especially as a member of the LGBT community myself who used to work in LGBT crisis work as well. But this is ridiculous.

I popped in for a STI screening and to get some general information about trans healthcare in long beach. Everyone who I talked to was more than cordial and understanding. I came in early, and was able to talk to the receptionist for a few minutes about what the center offered.Nobody really tried to rush me, and the two nurses who helped with my STI screen were polite and gentle. Even when I made it clear I historically have a hard time taking blood, they didnt try to force anything or try to fruitlessly stab me with the needle.

The LGBQT Center by far, is absolutely stellar!!! Their staff, & volunteers are the MOST friendly, MOST courteous, MOST helpful, MOST pleasant, & the very BEST place one could ever go for ANY questions, concerns, guidance, legal matters, support groups, (any sort of support, for that matter) in Southern California!!! Many times Ive partaken of their services. Most of the time, their vast array of services had whatever I may have needed, & if they dont have a particular service and / or program that I was seeking, their courteous, kind, & very helpful staff were able to provide me with where to go to get whatever it was that I was looking for. I cant say enough good things about The Center.

Unless you have a gun barrel sticking out of your mouth, youre pretty hit with a...Well have someone contact you in couple weeks following up on what programs we can best match for you. Been waiting since August 2018. In the last month of playing phone tag with you people. I truly ponder at the idea of people that eventually harmed and hurt themselves after hearing words of out right dismissal. They are not persistent. You tell them your availability upon intake. (Give all the portals of how you can be reached. Phone number, addresses, EMAILS!!! When they find that perfect class for you and its not in your availability well, they can no longer sweeten the pot for you and leave at, well just call us when you can make the class. Noone is proactive enough to say, lets see what more we can do. Since you can not make one class so they drop you, the case. Thanks ALOT!!

Boasting friendly staff, a large library, and many groups and activities to attend, The Center has been my queer place of choice for the last year. Their focus on making resources accessible to LGBT people regardless of status is admirable.

Went in for an HIV test. Very quick and easy, and informative. The receptionist was polite and straightforward, as were the workers. Its important to get tested not only for HIV but other STDs as well (: recommended it 100%

Was told to come down.. “No one was there” I rode my bike a few miles and when I got there it was only 4pm and they close at 10pm, only 4 ppl were in the lobby and I was told they’re at capacity.. I said really it’ll take you 5hrs to see these 4 ppl? And no rational explanation was given.

Someone just stole my book bag at the Long Beach Gay & Lesbian Center...I got about as much service & concern from the volunteers at the front desk as would wait. There was no service. No concern. Thank God all important information was in my pocket. I know we are responsible for our belongs. But at least get out your seat...Mmmmm makes me wonder why I dont see more people who look like me here...Just saying...

Holas! Im new to Long Beach from New York. As soon as I moved to the neighborhood I connected with The Center. As I blossom more into my presence as a Latina transgender, I sought support from The Center. All the staff and members have been incredibly amazing. What was just a small mustard seed of an idea in relocating to Long Beach and connecting with the LGBTQ community, is now becoming a full fledged reality. I am so grateful for the services being offered and the comfort I feel being in my new LGBTQ Center home.
