I took the foundation 101 class and had the best experience! I learned so much about acting, about myself, and met amazing people. Charles is an amazing person and teacher. He encourages you to step outside your comfort zone, and let me tell you it is truly rewarding. I’m excited to continue learning from Charles and more teachers at the Studio. If you are on the fence, I really recommend trying this acting class.

A great place to learn. Charles does a great job of giving feedback to assist in development of your acting no matter your level of experience. This is my second time taking the class and I enjoy every moment. This is not only a class for acting but also stretches you as an individual. I would challenge everyone to try the beginners class. For those that are experienced I have also had a one on one and that was absolutely great for focusing on my role and enhancing the character. Amazing teacher and course. Be open to the possibility of being great!

The My Acting Studio is the best local option in Long Beach that an actor can use to refine his or her craft. I have learned the most about acting through the inspirational acting coach there.

Greatest experience, Greatest teacher. It was my first time trying acting classes and Charles made the experience everything I could ask for and more, met lots of cool people and the studio itself is so awesome and feels so safe, me and my mom call it a little gem.

The Foundation 101 was my first acting class and here I had the opportunity to make mistakes to be vulnerable in front of (and with) a great group of people learning the same building blocks to the acting craft. Amongst a myriad of other skills I learned from Charles, I learned how to observe others act, how they would interpret their scripts, and how different people make different acting choices. The Foundation 101 class (or any class from My Acting Studio, for that matter) will be a credit to any actor’s resume and an opportunity for growth, no matter what level of experience.

Very welcoming and professional. I took the Foundation 101 Class and it made me fall in love with acting. Charles, the teacher, really pushed us and worked with our individual strengths. We worked on cold reading, improv, scene work, and camera work. Each class was an invaluable experience, I really feel like I learned a lot!

I took classes here for a while, and Charles is an awesome and talented instructor. The classes really helped me with public speaking, which I now do frequently and Ive been told Im a really good speaker. I never thought I would hear that! Unfortunately I had to leave before my classes were finished, but I hope to return one day. He also does great head shots! I had mine done here for my business, and I get compliments on my profile pic regularly.

Charles is one of the greats in the business. His experienced skills in all areas is what separates him most. Ive worked on and off of TV for years. Ive always been terrified on air, always in panic mode when cameras roll. Charles identified my fear, who does that?! He did! for which Im successfully addressing. Hes also given me treasured tips to take me exactly where I need to go.Thank you so much!

Charles offers an entire package to get you off and started on your acting career. Not only am I taking his classes, but Im utilizing him for head shots and a reel. The extra bonus on the reel is that we shoot scenes during an actual acting class which allows him to coach me through the acting to make sure I walk away with my best work recorded. He has a special approach to critique - its critical but kind and always geared at me digging deeper to make my work more real. He provides all kinds of great quick tips too - in a very short amount of time Ive seriously improved and have much more confidence. Definitely a great experience and I recommend it to anyone!

Had the honor to participate in Charles 12 week fundamentals of acting series. He exceeded my expectations in each session! Not only is Charles a talented actor, cinematographer, and director, hes also generous as both a coach and person. I had a blast participating in Charles Level 1 acting class. Charles provides a very comfortable and engaging atmosphere for his students to explore the art form and he is very supportive in his feedback/comments. The class focuses on observation, reaction, connection with your fellow classmates/actors, and developing comfort with being onstage. Its quite a therapeutic process and the skills learned directly transfer to your everyday life. If youve always wanted to try acting but have been discouraged for one reason or another, I would definitely encourage you to visit/talk to Charles =)

Charles as a masterful director and a truly compassionate instructor. He is willing to work with each individual to help them reach their goal and to push them to break down any barriers they have. He makes learning fun and every class is made to not just become better actors/speakers/performers, but to build up relationships and connect an a human level.

Observe a class and discovered that technique is a required 90% and does not come naturally. A coach is definitely required to up the 10% acting skill. Charles is a master of technique. His class fills the gap.

I am so thankful I found Charles class! I finished all 12 weeks and it was an amazing experience that has really changed my life. Yes, I learned the foundation and fundamentals for becoming an actor, but I also discovered so much about myself. Charles has a true compassion for his students that helps each of us individually. Charles. is an amazing acting coach been working with for a bit. Id say 4 or 5 months now constantly, Im close to the long beach area and i found him online. I had been studying classes at schools in hollywood, and had also been taking other acting classes as i am currently. But, none the less charles is a great teacher. He works with all of his students, gets us into the acting with trying different methods of acting it out. All the way, he records you so you are getting direct camera time also. Any time that you believe you have accomplished the scene you are able to ask Charles and he will keep the film. And edit for your reel. Charles is a great class for beginners or experts depends on your level of choice. I have had training so I stepped right into it without sitting in a class I was in-front of the camera first day and if you are ready you can be to... take the risk and try it out. You never know you may love it. The price is $$200 but for on camera experience I believe its worth it we meet every Wens. and the class size is about 10 students, and Charles lets us go to work you cant miss out, anyone reading this review I encourage you to come to the class if you are searching for a great acting class on camera.
