I attend several shows every seaon. I am never disappointed! They are Broadway quality in a small city. I was very pleased the first time someone invited me to show when I first moved here several years ago. I make it a point to take my 10 year old daughter to least one show every summer so she is exposed to culture. She is developing a real love for theater now as well. The Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theater is wonderful!

From customer service to the exit-talk with the performers, this was New York professional-level entertainment at a fraction of the cost. Madame Butterflys famous aria was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! And the set was outstanding! Hunchback was incredibly impactful! True, is it not the cutsy Disney version and darker in tone, but its truer to the Victor Hugo novel and makes the story less one-dimensional. The voices are incredible! Pirates was a delight. The soprano lead had a wonderful fluid sound, popping out high B-flats and Cs at every turn. These three shows are a must-see!

Top notch Opera and Musical Theater company. I religiously attend the shows every year and look forward to the world class talent both on stage and in the orchestra pit. Ticket prices are reasonable and there are price points for every budget. Amazing to find such world class performances in Logan, Utah.

Coming from the Washington DC area I was amazed by my experience at the Utah Festival Opera. As an artisan myself, I found the sets of both Madam Butterfly and Hunchback to be versatile and beautiful and extremely well made. The orchestra played beautifully along with all of the amazing singers and vocalist. I Particularly loved Claude Frollos voice. Amazing! The take they took on the Hunchbacks character touched me greatly, deepening the tale into one about love and acceptance of others no mater their differences. It was Beautiful! Both actors portrayed the emotion and depth of their Characters in a way I have never felt from this story before. Their performance truly captivated me. I absolutely loved everything about it. Including my experience from the staff and ticket office. Everyone was so kind, friendly and personal. I also love the authentic feel of the theater with its beautiful murals and interior. I would recommend this opera house to all for a beautiful experience. Thank You!

I have seen a few shows at UFOMT and thoroughly enjoyed them all. Costumes were brilliant and beautiful. Set design was creative and brought the world of the show to life before it even began. The actors seemed to be throwing themselves into the roles 100%. I truly believed all that was going on onstage. Great shows, great people and a great time.

Saw The music Man and Madam ButterflyTwo extremes of music and theater. Both were impressive and excellent. Meeting the cast in costume is not costume but I so enjoyed seeing the performers afterwards. Good job all around Utah Opera.

I have seen multiple productions of Suessical the Musical and I have to say that The Utah Opera Festival rendition was the best I have seen. The costumes were exceptional, the energy high and the whole experience upbeat. Our family absolutely loved it!

I saw Pirates of Penzance and Hunchback of Notre Dame at the beginning of the 2017 season. The Gilbert and Sullivan was a sheer delight!!!! So very, very British. The costumes were hysterical, and the voices were top notch. The customer service was excellent! Hunchback was beautifully done!! It was a thrill from beginning to end. I was more entranced by Hunchback than the first time I saw the Broadway production of Les Miserables. Bravo!!!!!

I have seen all of the shows at UFOMT this season and was very impressed with the talent and professionalism of the artists. I have seen Pirates of Penzance 3 times, and each time I went I could not stop laughing. The way the show was directed was absolutely brilliant. The performers also had a great sense of comedic timing, strong characterization, and of course the singing was gorgeous as well. On Saturday, I saw Hunchback of Notre Dame and was blown away. The entire production team really did an excellent job of putting it all together, especially considering what a demanding show it is. The show itself is such a powerful and moving story that I think everyone should see. Overall, what a great season!!

We are seeing Hunchback for the second time tonight. Saturdays performance was wonderful. The UFO staff was unfailingly helpful in providing the best experience possible; from assistance with ticketing, to bringing a blanket to a chilled elderly man, everyone was most considerate. The performers compare very favorably with those we have seen in the most iconic opera and musical theatre venues . While the performance was more subdued than the wonderfully rollicking performance of Seussical, It suited the serious nature of the Victor Hugo content. I was especially impressed with the performances of Kevin Nakatani, and Ezekiel Andrew. Andrews shift from the slurred speech of a deaf man, to the eloquent arias expressing his real self, were especially moving. Keep up the good work ... We look forward to many more seasons of quality, and varied shows! Marilyn Hoffmann

We saw The Hunchback of Notre Dame last night. I thought maybe I was being pranked, it was so bad. Yeah, the sets look awesome but who cares if the actors all think its a big joke and dont even try to sing? My wife wanted to go because she loves this play, so I surprised her with tickets. She was so upset because they ruined her favorite songs. I dont know alot about theater and even I could tell that this was bad. My daughters high school did Aladdin and it was way better than this. What a waste of money. Im not picky, but I think if you pay over $200 for tickets you should be able to expect a good show where the actors know how to sing and you can understand their words.

Dont bother. Your money is better spent on local community theater. At least theyll put effort into their performances.Just saw Hunchback of Notre Dame. It was embarrassing. Easily the worst professional performance I have ever seen. We left at intermission because we couldnt take it anymore. The sets and costumes were beautiful, but the performance was just completely awful. Quasimodo didnt bother singing half of his notes, preferring to talk the lyrics in a grotesque overdone accent that made them unintelligble. The whole cast acted like they wanted to be anywhere else except performing, and the whole thing was slow and disorganized. Every sound and lighting effect was late. Every orchestra cue was late. The cast was often singing at different speeds than the orchestra. Seriously, it was painful to watch, and no one onstage seemed to care.Except for Frollo, every single performer in the Hunchback production, including the conductor, should be ashamed of their work. They were mocking a beautiful story with their apathy.I saw Madame Butterfly too, and it was mediocre at best, but at least some of the performers seemed to be trying.Utah Festival Opera used to be really good. Last season and the year before were great, as good as any show in a major city. This season, after seeing Hunchback and Madame Butterfly, Im not even going to use my tickets for Music Man and Seussical. I tried calling to speak speak to someone in the box office about the show quality. I emphasized from the start that I didnt want a refund, but I still got cut off before I could even begin talking by an incredibly defensive lecture about how I didnt know what I was talking about, because she saw the show and thought it was great. Awful customer service.I refuse to even give my tickets away because I wont submit anyone to these shameful amateurish performances.
