Riverside Arena

The place was fun for kids. However, The food is awful. I had my kids birthday. We bought 3 large pizzas, they were supposed to be cheese pizza and sauce . However, they were dry & went to waste. It was a frozen pizza tasted like cardboard. I talked to the lady who works in there, she talked to the owner and they replaced with nachos & cheese. That was the most expensive nachos I ever bought

They were wonderful on NYE! The first time slot for the younger kids and families was a well organized, welcoming environment and clean skating arena. I would definitely return there with the family. Highly recommend this place!

My family and I had a good time. 2 issues: 1, you need to have a better system when people are paying. People are cutting the line because theres no rope or system of keeping people in line properly. Lastly, no floor guard to monitor floor. People were falling and just laying there. If there was floor guard, they definitely wasnt doing a good job. Otherwise, the skating rink is very nice.

Madddddddd house! Holy geeze. Saturdays at 2pm are apparently the place to be for birthdays! Its a nice rink, the birthday aspect of only being able to eat and have cake in 30 - 45 mins is quite chaotic

This place is awful for a birthday party. Parents please go somewhere else! Their customer service is awful. Our party was at 2pm and the kids ate at 4:45. At 5:00 they announced they were closing and to make your way out. The poor birthday girl had not even had cake or opened presents yet. She had to take her gifts home with her. Their response was, well we have a lot of parties and not everyone can eat at the same time. I said, you have too many parties at one time then if kids are eating 15 minutes before close. They could care less. Go to bounce it up or Chuck E. Cheese where they actually treat you good.

Nice place but the one guy, I don’t know his name but he looks like a Kevin. He has a nail that’s sharp and pointy and I’ve even seen him file it once. DISGUSTING! But such good serious over all. Love this place.

Some reviews baffle me. But then again, some people think McDonalds is gourmet dining.Riverside Arena is not a typical roller rinkThere is no cleaner, better maintained facility around... Period. The atmosphere and energy are simply above all others.

I have the fondest memories of coming here as a kid and I recently started taking my own child. She loves it & I couldnt be happier with the staff and atmosphere! Its a safe, clean, fun place to go~its like time stood still when I walk in there. Thanks Riverside

The rink is well kept and has good grip; theyve also got pretty decent hours. My major complaint is that the rental skates are pretty old and just poorly maintained, so if you have a pair Id definitely recommend you bring your own.

Good place. You can rent skates for pretty cheap. Good music, kid friendly. You can also bring your own skates if you want.

Super fun. Went on Saturday night, which is good for adults. Apparently Fridays are when the kids go and its very busy. Thursdays I hear are specifically for adults, as they play 70s music. There are some amazing skaters there, but there are others like myself who barely get around and its still fun.

Went here when I was a kid and son loves going skating here pizza especially good in his opinion its the best !!!

Love this place, it’s where I spent my childhood and was my first job. Make sure to teach your children how to roller skate, they’ll love it for life!

Nice place to hangout

It was great a little bit of a show boat but it was fun and an experience of have again.

Had a 17th bday party for my daughter. Party planner wasnt really sure of the rules, not really attentive at all. Kids said the pizza was horrible, which was sat out on plates for everyone to breathe and hover over along with her cupcakes, outside food isnt allowed. Also balloons were supposed to come with the package and when we arrived they were bursting balloons, but we never got any. They had a good time skating though.

Typical rollerskating rink. Skates are decent and the floor is good. They have a nice smaller area to get used to the skates before going out on the main floor. Worth the upgrade to inline skates. Great place to take the family or a fun date idea. Fairly well maintained given the age.

Riverside is a good place to skate at because they play all the good music what are all the people want to play inside of the skating rink

My little brother loves to come here every Saturday and its always a blast crowded or not. Now if I could just get my husband to couples skate with me...

The older lady working the door was sure nice friendly smile same with the ladies at the snack bar! The floor has been well taken care of But.... I wasnt even there 5 minutes before a fight broke out, I chose to stay and saw 4 more fights within one hour! Staff was hard to find the color of their shirts are so dark they blend into the crowds making them not so easy to find! Im personally unsure if I would bring my son to this rink.

Some of the staff were very rude, the security guard and the front desk clerk checking everyone in was very polite. I tried calling the owner to express my experience he over talked me and would not let me get a word in. I honestly like this Skating Rink but the experience I had was unacceptable.

My family and I decided to attend the8 p.m. to 1 a.m. New Years Eve Event 2019-2020. The price was $17.00 per person. I had 10 people ($170.00) profit for Riverside. First off we were handed tickets for one slice of pizza and a drink. When we decided to see what the ticket would give us we were handed one slice of cold pizza which was very distasteful! Along with a selected choice of drink. We were displeased with the $17.00 fee to get in and enjoy a night of skating to be so disgusted. The ballon drop was a joke the prizes were prepaid tickets to return and skat. I had the opportunity to speak with the owner regarding my concern and he jokingly stated that he actually enjoys the pizza. They couldnt keep the pizza warm for close to 300 people. So I am thinking then why charge $17.00 for something that is dissatisfying to customers. He again jokingly stated that he would rather continue to serve his current selected pizza and not consider Hot n Ready or other choices. This let me know that the owner clearly doesnt care what customers think about their experience at Riverside Arena. Also, they clearly stated that there should be NO vaping inside the building. Well there was clearly vaping. Out in the open. My family and I will no longer skate at Riversideoverpriced and poor service. I wanted to give my rating a ZERO but that unfortunately was not a option.

Riverside arena was pretty fun. It was my first time going and we went for my cousins party. I skated and the owner played red light green light with us. But somehow for the eating portion of the party there was a bug in the cake!!

So many memories here... line use to be to the edge of the building lol i remember in the early 2000s all the juggalos would hangout here Friday nights i cant tell you how many times wed speed skate to Slipknot - wait and bleed.... i miss these days it was Riversides glory days

THE SAME!! I WALKED IN AND HAD A HUGE FLASHBACK!I forgot how much fun we had here as kids and am glad the rink is still able to provide that for my kids. Great job on keeping it new and somehow the same.I miss the video games though...lol

My boyfriend and I visited this establishment on Saturday, February 1st, for a later skate that had been advertised on the website as being a skate for adults and teens only. However; upon arriving, we realized there were many small children there. Not that I minded them-as they were, of course, adorable-but it was a bit misleading. Also, the young lady working the counter at the skate rentals was astoundingly rude (didnt even look at us throughout the entire exchange, interrupted me twice to chat with another young lady, and even held up a finger to presumably silence me as she laughed with the girl).

Clean, family friendly, fun and will definitely bring you back to your youth.

Fun but they should inspect there skates a little more almost broke an ankle from there skate braking on me.

I think part of my rating is from the nostalgia taking me back to my younger years but this place was great! Clean and everything your want for a roller rink! This place was really fun and everyone was very nice. Old school DJ both with all the music you need. Thumbs up! Great place for parties and fundraisers for sure!

Its has been a family friendly place my family was there friday and i understand on a crowded night staff can get overwhelmed but they couldnt seem to control the teens and the fights hire some security for those nights so famlies can enjoy themselves we paid for a night of fun not fights

I had a birthday party here for my granddaughter yesterday. They didn’t start on time the staff is rude, her so called reserved tables were dirty, the so called coordinator didn’t coordinator because they over book parties, they time slot to eat was late than they want to rush people to eat and do cake. Overall experience was horrible and won’t be back ever.

Riverside is a very nice skating rink. I have been taking my daughter since she was two for the preschool class and now she is 8. Great Place!

Very diverse crowd...diverse music...steady flow...didnt realize this could be a costly family event just for admission. Great for all ages and expertise. Has a mini floor which is usually good for the novice skaters and toddlers. Rental skates are pretty good condition. Floor surface seems excellent. Rink is very clean to include the bathroom. Tried to charge me 6$ for a pitcher of water. Many of the staff seems like high schoolers.

I’ve been around to 5-6 different roller rinks in the area and this one is my favorite. Smooth skating surface, well maintained and friendly staff.

Good place to roller blade, a little crowded but otherwise fun place.

A little heavy on the rap/hip-hop songs through the open skate, but overall good.

Clean rink, but no one was monitoring floor for a long time which is very important. Kids skating wrong direction and texting while skating causing falls. Suggest a floor monitor stay on floor or at least view to keep things flowing well.

My kids joined the basic class today. They had very good time, coaches are really helpful and the fees are really worth. Really good place to consider.

I had a birthday party there and am terribly disappointed. I just had gone to one at another rink and thought I would throw my sons at my old stomping grounds. I told them I had at least 20 kids and their parents, meaning large party . The party started at 11 and at 1130 I had complained enough to finally have two tables for my guests to sit, which was in the very corner, smashed into three other parties. It was embarrassing that I couldnt even tell a guest to have a seat. I had about 30 parents, standing. This was a reserved party yet nothing seemed to have been reserved. I complained to whoever would listen - and didnt get anything resolved. We were offered free refills however, with 4 parties gong on in the same room, we couldnt even get out of our sardine cans to get a refill. Then we had a half hour for pizza, cake and gift opening. We had to be the rude ones to take unopened gifts home because we were asked to allow others in and they were overcrowded. $400 and I am completely disappointed. Im still apologizing to guests for their un organization. Its sad that no one came to talk to me for some sort of resolution. Do not do a party here. You will regret it.

Love this place - not too crowded when I go. The staff and the people in general are cool and nice. The DJ was pretty funny. I love the small skating area on the side - it lets you try new things off to the side without worrying about getting in someones way - I see kids trying to skate here, or adults working on tricks. Pretty cool.

We are very lucky to have such a great skating rink in our area! I have been going to the skating ring for over 30 years and have never had a negative experience there. The place is always well-maintained and very clean, the staff is always nice and willing to go out of their way to help someone have a enjoyable experience! Thank you very much for keeping the place up all these years

OMG. Why cant the skating rinks in Detroit be this freaking clean, organized and well ran. Was my 1st, but not my last time visiting the rink. Had been looking for somewhere great to skate and with the help of goggle I feel I have found that. Thanks Riverside for beautiful facility.

Bathrooms are digusting looks like they havent been cleaned in months especially the floors. Food court so out dated looks like its from the 70s. Dj not even in booth played terrible music. 2 stars because it is cheaper then other rinks but outdated and needs a good cleaning and vacuuming

Its a nice roller arena. The skates they rent out are in nice condition and the music and lights create a fun atmosphere.

Staff has always been good to me. Well kept facility and clean. Very smooth and large skating floor. Good lighting and sound system. Cant ask for a nicer skating experience in detroit metro. Owners are really nice too!

Did a birthday party here, said we could come a bit early to get things ready and they were not even open. Nothing was prepped at the snack bar and they were too lightly staffed. Not a horrible experience but definitely not a great one.

Everything is good except the snack bar people are rude and the snacks are vary expensive

Fun Fun Fun! We had my daughters 7th bday here and it was a huge hit. The place is clean, the food was good and the staff were so amazing and accommodating. Family fun at its best.

Love the instructors, classes are reasonable price with great improvement in my kids skating ability! The place is huge. Cafeteria has zero healthy options. Pizza. Soft pretzels. Nachos with cheese goo. Or fries. And the coffee is crap. Im there for about 3 hours at a time Id love a decent cup of coffee. And bring a sweatshirt,is usually cold. $6 for open skate, rentals included. Cant beat that for some old school fun!

I was able to go with my class and I enjoyed my time. The gift shop has alright stuff, the food court was amazing, and the people treat you nice.

I used to go to Bonaventure but this place is way better. they play really good music and its not just a family place its also where teens hangout there too. Its very spaced out and the place is always clean. I recommend this place for everyone!

Thursday nights are fantastic here, and I go pretty frequently even though its a 45 minute drive. Good music selection, fun crowd, and pretty lax employees. The floor is decent sized and impressively maintained. Much better than Skate World in Troy, just wish Riverside was closer.

I dont really like the management but the roller skates there are 3 different kinds of them but otherwise thats my opinion

Rollerskated there when I was growing uo and my kids have been skating there all their lives. Its a great place to meet and hang out with friends.

My 4 yrs old kid joined the skating class. It was real fun for her. Trainers are being nice and seeding the confidence in kids. Motivating atmosphere for the beginners. Worth the fee for the sessions.

First off -- rink is nice, skates seem to hold up.HOWEVER, the service is very unappealing. I was greeted by a very rude woman. Two of my non-skating friends were not even let into the rink, unless they paid for skates they wouldnt use. Ruined the night.
