Rooms are fantastic and updated. Very quiet and comfortable. Romantic setting with great views. The breakfast was wonderful and fresh. Id definitely stay there again in the future.

As a wedding vendor, we at American Vintage Rentals have provided rustic-vintage rentals for couples getting married, here in the Livermore wine country of California. The grounds include statues, a pool with waterfall, and walkways through the lush gardens. This hotel/spa/wedding-retreat is nestled in among the rolling hills, with rows and rows of olive trees. In the Spring, the hills and olive orchards are carpeted with bright yellow mustard plants... a sight to behold! For weddings, there is a lovey arch created out of the landscaped hedges, which opens out to a patio and large grass area, bordered by the olive trees. Plenty of space for a large gathering! The staff at Purple Orchid are very professional, and tend to every detail. A beautiful and memorable location to have a wedding!

First of all, we asked for an early check in on Monday morning (4:30-5am) and if they could accommodate us in a room for a few hours (6hrs total) until the room we wanted was available. They said they could accommodate us. The room they gave us was phenomenal. Very nice, exceeded our expectations. Upon getting to our requested room, it looked to be very nice. We began checking things out and as we get to the bathroom theres a closet thats locked. Thinking it was storage for us, we popped the lock. Only to find BUGS, DEAD BUGS.. And a bottle of eye drops, hair... Like somebody just swept em up in there and locked the door. Left a message for the office that night and just went to bed.. The next morning, we have people knocking... Theyre asking us when were checking out.. Were like what??!! Tried negotiating and they werent gonna prorate us. Had NO explanation to the bugs either. Ridiculous if you ask me.

If your looking for a local get away, this is the spot, rooms are big and super clean and hospitality is great! The wine and food are excellent, will definitely be staying here again!!

This is o e of my favorite Spa. I have had body massage with most of their staff and they are all so well trained. Although you’ll different massage style, they never fall short. I love spending half of the day enjoying the swimming pool and jacuzzi

Went here for my brothers wedding and this place is just beautiful. We stayed here for the weekend. The rooms are amazing and they have a pool and hot tubs in the back and in the distance and surrounding area are vineyards.

My wife and I got massages here. She got a prenatal massage and I got a sports massage.My therapist really knew what he was doing. Its a little bit pricey but I think you really get what you pay for. This massage was of a quality thats on a higher echelon than other massage businesses in the area.The sports massage involves quite a bit of stretching and manipulation so its a bit more active than a typical run of the mill session. It was very relaxing and therapeutic.The grounds are beautiful and serine. The massage facility is quiet and tranquil. When I was done I got a glass of red wine and just wandered about the grounds for a little bit.The Purple Orchid is an extraordinary property.

I had a wonderful spa day celebrating my 50th birthday. My daughter, daughter in law and sister in law joined me. We enjoyed food and relaxed. The staff was very pleasant and thank you Carol for the deep tissue massage. I will return and we plan to make this a recurring girls day! A wedding cut our day short but who doesnt love a happy couple starting out. Thank you for the great day

This was my first spa experience and I absolutely loved it! I booked it for my birthday and they had great group packages. The environment itself was relaxing. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and if I ever get the chance to visit Livermore again, I’ll certainly come back for a stay and one of their great massages.I was here with my wife to celebrate a friend’s 30th birthday by having a “spa weekend”. I was amazed how beautiful the property was as we drove up the long driveway. We promptly checked in for our massage and room. We had a surprise upgrade and loved the Celestial Moon room! It has a huge living room area to lounge in then you walk into a large bedroom which then leads into a large bathroom that includes a vanity area, jacuzzi tub and stand up shower.The massage was amazing! It was my wife and I’s first massage and I couldn’t have left more relaxed and happy. The ladies that worked on us were very attentive, friendly and masters of their craft.The pool area was awesome with a nice waterfall feature and walk in/sun bathing area. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi all day long.My honest critical feedback of this place was some aspects of the customer service. It came down mostly to organization and attentiveness. When we arrived, it just seemed like the system they were using was not syncing up with massage and guest reservations because when we checked in, she thought we were only their for a massage and almost left after collecting our paperwork but we had to stop her and let her know that we were also staying. I just found that a bit odd and thought it would have clearly shown everything we were there for. This made the check-in process close to 20 minutes.The other critique I wanted to highlight was the service at the pool. While we were out there enjoying ourselves, we wanted to sip on wine or beer while we enjoyed the nice weather. We were hardly checked on and each time that we wanted another beverage, we had to seek staff out that happened to be walking around the property or we would have to get our, dry off, then go inside to make an order. I just figured that if you’ve got a group at the pool, enjoying a special occasion and looking to enjoy a few drinks, you’d be checking in regularly to see if any refills were needed (which I can tell you we likely would have purchased a lot more even at the higher premium charge for beer/wine). It was also a bummer that the kitchen closed fairly early so we had to order pizza from the closest place. Again, I realize this is a smaller place and you have to be smart about how you budget your staff and services accordingly.Let me make sure I clarify that every person that I had the opportunity to speak with or interact with, they were very nice, helpful and made me feel comfortable.I felt that the overall experience was fantastic and would still consider coming back. Again, some of the critiques came down to what seemed like disorganization, a clerical error on how much we were charged, and just the attentiveness poolside. These were all things that weren’t big enough issues to me that would prevent me coming back. Thank you again for the hospitality and I hope I’ll make it back!

Attended a wedding here. There was only one event. The entire staff were friendly, helpful and made this event flawless. The seating was plentiful and open for room that held our large family. The food was amazing and delicious.

We attended a wedding at this venue and let me just say this place is beautiful. Very picturesque, charming and the grounds were breathtaking. The ambiance was so peaceful, I would love to come and enjoy the inn and Spa services. Overall, I would recommend everyone to vist this hidden gem. I know will be coming back soon.

My wife and I decided to stay a night here as we were in the San Francisco area and were looking for a nice hotel for the two of us. We had a late check in as we had flown in to LAX and wanted to do a few things prior to checking in. The staff was more than happy to accommodate us and was quick to get us to our room. When we got to our room the front door wouldnt lock so we had someone come out to look at it (Within a few moments), and they quickly fixed the issue for us. We also had issues with the jetted tub as the jets did not work.The staff was quick to help us with the issues, and while the tub still did not work properly they were still very apologetic and helpful. We were also able to try one of the wines that they have in the rooms, it was EXCELLENT and my wife and I (I dont really care for wine), both wish it was sold here at home.

Beautiful setting, very quiet and peaceful. The staff and owners were very friendly and accommodating and the included breakfast was excellent. Cleanliness was perfect, the bathroom was nice (we had a room with a Jacuzzi bathtub and stand-up shower.) The room furnishings were a little on the spartan side on the standard room, the bed was new and nice, but very high off the ground so it was not useful for sitting on. Other than that we had no complaints.

My sister and I booked a spa day here at this inn based on the good reviews and local vibe, and it was amazing! I got an 80 minute hot stone massage with experienced massage therapist Christina, and she definitely knows what she is doing! It was the most therapeutic massage ever! My sister got an 80 minute facial with Esthetician Kathleen, who shared plenty of experience and education with her. We had a wonderful time here at this boutique inn, and would recommend to anyone.

We held my Moms 60th birthday there and everything about the Purple Orchid was perfect. Derek and Rihannon were so helpful and easy to plan with. We started our birthday morning at the spa where we all had great massages and facials. For the party the setting was beautiful and the rooms are clean, classic, and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and the morning staff is so friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend Purple Orchid for any event and get away to the beautiful Livermore Wine Country.

My sister and I found this boutique inn based on reviews and Im glad we did! We booked for the spa but I wished we booked for a room too! The inn was so charming and the grounds were breathtaking. All of the staff were warm and welcoming. I recieved the 80 minute Vitaskin Targeted Facial with Kathleen and it was amazing! She was very experienced and knew exactly how to treat my skin. I highly recommend booking a facial with her and trying out the inn. I definitely will return here on my next California trip.

I booked a deep tissue massage with Lynn. Lynn is really good at what she does (technique and service) I think its one thing to be great with your skill, but its very special when you display great service. When it comes to something like a massage or any service, where you are in such close proximity to your client over a great length of time, it takes a great service provider, and Lynn was awesome! Lunch was great, the grounds are beautiful.

The aesthetician was very friendly and knowledgable and she treated exactly what I wanted and walked me through each step however I put on my intake card that I had fillers recently and I also let her know yet this morning the filler has moved from it original spot and is in my cheeks and sore. She was also not given the card I was asked to fill out which is disappointing. Fillers are very expensive and I am very disappointed that I no longer have the results from them and I look like a chipmunk. The facial itself was amazing otherwise.

Wow. I’m honestly shocked. I’ve been waiting for six days for a response to a package booking for six people after I already spoke with this company over the phone. The response I got nearly a week later is that they can’t accommodate any of us. Incredibly unprofessional and untimely lack of communication. Worst service I’ve experienced from a spa EVER.

They also have a complimentary glass of wine with a very tiny comp 2 pieces of cheese,7 grapes and 11 almonds. Had a very yummy Complimentary breakfast!! That was very fillling. Definitely will be back.

Purple Orchid hosted the Sangeet/Welcome Party the Friday before our wedding and also housed the brides family and friends. The staff was professional and amazingly helpful but also gave us our space to enjoy each other. All of the guests were absolutely blown away by the natural beauty of the space.

I came here for a massage sponsored from my company and it was an amazing experience. My masseuse applied the perfect amount of pressure and was very cognizant of my ticklish areas to avoid. The bed table was heated and the robes were very luxurious. Highly recommended!!!!

So I actually stayed here by accident. Something was going on in “The Bay” and every hotel from northern San Fran all the way past San Jose was booked...or price inflated to nearly $1k per night. I opted to make the short drive to this hotel...and holy cow...I wish I actually had the time to stay here for several days. The hotel itself sits at the base of some foothills in wine country. It’s serene and gorgeous. The room I stayed in was the size of an apartment! Huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub and a large bedroom and living room. The staff is extremely accommodating and over the top helpful. Like I said...I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

Our experience at the Purple Orchid Wine Country Resort & Spa was amazing. My wife and I had an appointment for a couples massage and arrived at this beautifully intimate bed & breakfast hidden away in Livermore wine country. Upon our arrival the staff had mimosas waiting for us and made us feel relaxed immediately. Our masseuses were both friendly and extremely professional. They were the best massages either one of us had ever had. Soaking in the jacuzzi after our treatment was the perfect ending to our experience. We will definitely being make plans to returning in the near future.

Stayed overnight for a girls weekend - had an amazing massage from Lidea, then hung out for happy hour and got to chat with the front desk ladies/servers and the owners. Everyone was so friendly, generous, thoughtful, helpful, gave great advice, easy to talk to, had everything we needed, made us feel right at home and like we were VIPs!

This last weekend my husband and I celebrated one of my best friends birthdays at the Purple Orchid Wine Country Resort. The venue is incredibly beautiful and we were in awe the moment we arrived. The resort is off the main road, tucked away and surrounded by wineries and green hills. Although this resort is a great site, the experience was unfortunately not as grand.Before we even got there I was concerned about our reservation because I never received an email confirmation for my stay. I had to call the day before just to verify everything. From the immediate arrival it seemed disorganized and the service was unfortunately slow. Although I wasnt in a hurry, it took a very long time to check in. For some time I became worried that they didnt in fact have my reservations on file! The receptionist at the front desk just seemed to shuffle through different piles of papers on different sides of the room. She gave my husband and I a little piece of paper to fill out for our upcoming spa massages but didnt say anything else. I went back to the front desk and had to ask about a room and finally I received my key and terms and conditions for my stay. Do not lose your key! It can cost a lot, I didnt but Im just warning you. Unfortunately, the overall check-in process took up to 20 minutes.After we got into our room we were shocked with its beauty, cleanliness and comfort! They put the entire groups together so we got to stay in a nicer room than we booked and that was a great plus! We stayed in the Celestial Moon room which included a large living room, bedroom and a jacuzzi bathtub. Great surprise!After the groups completed their SPA appointments, we all hung out by the pool all day! We had lunch and drinks, but be careful because it all adds up real quick! While we were all enjoying the sun we were never checked on. If we ever wanted any additional drinks, wed have to walk to the front desk to ask for more. As the day progressed it would have been nice to order some food from the kitchen but unfortunately they closed early and we never knew it until we asked. We all probably would have spent more had the opportunity presented itself.After a day of sunshine and a relaxing night we checked out the following morning. I was asked if I wanted a receipt emailed or printed, which I requested an email receipt. Because I was waiting for my friends, I checked my email to see the damage/cost of everything but didnt receive an email. After 5-10 minutes later I went back to the front desk to ask and they sent it to the wrong email. No wonder why I never received my confirmation stay email either! Makes sense now... Later the next day when I checked my credit card statement I was also shocked to find that instead of the hundred dollar fees, they charged me thousand dollar fees! After a few days the thousands fell off and the charge posted correctly but what a scare that was! I also received a text from the other group that stayed and they had several problems with what was charged. They wanted me to check my records to make sure I was okay too.Overall, the venue looks beautiful, the spa is great and the rooms are comfortable. However for the amount we spent, I would expect it to be more organized with better service. Let me clarify, that every staff member we spoke with was very nice and polite. We just needed to make the effort to speak to them every time and there seemed to be several clerical errors. These hitches wouldnt stop me from visiting again but it has lowered my expectations for future visits.

Really nice hot tub and pool for soaking in the views (and your sore muscles). Close to everything you want to do in Livermore and Pleasanton. Nice big dining room with coffee and tea available too. The beds are comfortable and the room we stayed in was nice, although it needed a few extra touches like a dresser and a desk light. Breakfast service was a bit confused the morning we were there, but it happens. We meant to get a massage but we scheduled it for the wrong time, so I guess well have to do it some other visit!

The facility was absolutely stunning. I was there for a wedding and the courtyard and fountain were very nice. Plenty of shade and tables for lounging. Bar service was excellent and the dinner area was very well done.

The road to the Purple Orchid via Patterson Pass reminded me of some of the more treacherous roads in Italy but the view was spectacular. The Inn is in an idyllic location and very peaceful. The room was comfortable but wish it had a desk. The shower was non existent. I wonder why it doesnt serve food other than breakfast and the Inn does not have a bar. Overall it was very enjoyable

Just had an incredible Ashiatsu massage with Christina. If you love deep tissue massage, youll want this one. Shes very exact in problem areas, especially old injuries with scar tissue. Love her friendliness and sense of humor! 5 stars!

We were not able to stay at the Resort but we did enjoy the spa and pool for the day, Let me say my girlfriends and I have traveled a great amount together and this day was AMAZING !!!! I cant say enough about the atmosphere. It was friendly and so happy everybody there really seemed to love their jobs and were so helpful I am planning on this being my Birthday destination every year and I will be booking in advance so we can enjoy the entire weekend. LOVE love LOVED this Spa

Probably the most amazing grounds that you can find in the area... It is surrounded by beauty, emulates a rustic cabin for the main building, and has luxurious suites. The suite had a bathroom, bedroom, AND living room/nook, each of which were larger than individual hotel rooms on their own. The pool with waterfall is a nice touch, and the grounds are ripe with plants and scenery to get completely absorbed in. Very intimate and romantic place

Went here for my cousins wedding. It was a perfectly gorgeous venue. The staff was excellent, the decor suits the vineyard aesthetic, and the countless rows of olive trees under the setting sun was perfect for guests to spread out and take pictures.

We stayed in one of the king suites for our wedding night and the whole place was great! They stayed up late for us to check in and were very friendly. The suite was beautiful and spacious with an awesome living room, bedroom, and bathroom. We were brought breakfast to our room in the morning and that was wonderful as well! The property and surrounding area were beautiful and we will certainly be coming back in the future.

Stayed in the double eagle suite. It was very nice but a bit strange because there was no door to the toilet. You will get very close with whoever youre staying with.

Second time my wife and I have stayed here. We love this place! The resort has beautiful gardens, excellent accommodations, very nice pool, an outstanding spa on site, and the owners and the people who work here are super friendly and make you feel so welcomed. Very relaxing and in the perfect location for wine tasting in the Livermore area. So near to some great wineries. We highly recommend the Purple Orchid!!!!

This place is absolutely repulsive. They have zero regard for compassion towards human beings. My sister was engaged for 6 months. She chose purple orchid as the venue for her wedding. Fast forward, after a devastating and heart breaking stream of events, she was forced to call off the engagement just a couple weeks after she had put down her $5,000 deposit. She called purple orchid to explain her devastating situation and asked if there was any possibility to get her money back. She was told that there was absolutely no way that they could provide a refund, and had the audacity to ask her to sign a document to release that date so that they could rebook. We completely understand that the venue is under no obligation to refund her. She did not expect them to refund her right away. She asked them if she could get her money back if and when that date is booked and locked in by someone else. Their answer was a firm no. Essentially she paid them $5,000 just to have her name on their books. They now have that date available and they will be profiting off of someone else and get to keep her money as well. This is complete robbery. The lack of compassion possessed by this business needs to be out there for other people to be aware of as a warning. If they lack the decency to not profit off of someones misfortune, who knows what else they are capable of. This is a money hungry business and they do NOT have your best interest at heart.

My husband and I attended his brothers wedding here. Beautiful venue off The beaten path in Livermore. The staff was very sweet and on point with every thing. They went out of there way to make sure me and our newborn were comfortable and had a quite place to nurse if I wasnt comfortable doing so in front of so many guest. The reception was at dusk and the setting was absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend!

My husband and I just returned from the most relaxing and romantic Valentines weekend at the Purple Orchid Inn in the Celestial Moon suite (2013). This resort is a hidden jewel in the Livermore Valley Wine Country! Shortly after checking in, we were personally welcomed by owner, Rhiannon, at our suite with a lovely fruit bowl, a breakfast menu for in-suite dinning and a personal invitation to their afternoon wine and appetizer social in the main lodge. We ended up staying for 3 nights our experience was so wonderful and went to the Valentines Winemaker dinner they hosted Saturday night which was impeccable! I was truly impressed with owner Dereks knowledge of wine. I was looking for wineries with delicious full bodied REDS and the wineries he recommend were spot-on. We will definitely be back. I understand the new owners are working on putting a concert series together. If its anything like what theyve done so far, it should be phenomenal!!!

My girlfriend and I attended a concert at Purple Orchid and had a great time. There was ample parking and the venue is beautiful. Alcohol and food were provided by local wineries, breweries, and restaurants. Definitely a great destination for live music.

I worked an event at the Purple Orchid for a weekend. Some of the people who worked the event stayed in the hotel so I was able to see the rooms as well. The event area was nice but a little awkward. The dining and event area was separated by a curtain so when the hotel staff was setting up we could here them from the event side. The bathrooms were also in the diamond area which we thought would be a major problem at the beginning but i ended up never hearing them while the event was going on. The overall look of the place was very nice but they need to update and repair. The main door that we used for the event had the handle fall of a couple times and the door was uneven and would require you to lift it to close it. The room that we used for our event base was very spacious and nice. Overall it was a nice place but needs a little updating before it will be a place that events will want to go.

The massage by Christine was amazing. But the staff wasnt too forthcoming with what exactly we were supposed to do. We kind of wandered aimlessly. For the price I felt like we should have been more attended to

We went for a massage experience and every person we interacted with that worked there not not only professional, but friendly and helpful(it helped that we were happy too!). The massage itself was amazing, and while we were given gift cards to pay for this by a family member, we have already scheduled a future appointment. The cost was worth it to us!

This was my 1st spa experience at the Purple Orchid ( my wife has been several times) We live 7ish miles away. Theres no reason to travel any further. Our therapists Margie and Christina were fantastic. 10 on a scale 1 to 5. Looking forward to going back soon. Everyone was great.

You wouldnt think this place is in Livermore. I love their olive oil and it is a nice wedding venue
