Great spot for a quick hike. Some trails are mixed use with one reserved for hiking/walking. Trails connect to nearby deer creek canyon park and KC open space. Cool.rock formations, restrooms at either end of the park and picnic areas. Favorite time to be here is around sunset.

Nature hiking at South Valley Park is enjoyable. The trail we took was quite scenic and the grade was extremely moderate, suitable for all ages and types. If you go at sunrise or sunset the views are exquisite and rare. Highly recommended, well maintained and planned trail with lots of wildlife on the ground and in the air.

Hilly trail that follows the road to the right, cant climb on rock formations, but its a nice easier walk.

Well marked trails. Beautiful meandering paths weave amazing red rocks and alpine meadows. Follow the upper trail to the top of the hogs back for views of the whole valley.Good amenities, restrooms at both trail heads. Picnic spots at the North head.

Beautiful views with lots of short trails, great for feeling like you’re getting away but still close to town. Dogs are permitted as long as your dog is on a leash (bring your own poop bags and clean up after your pet!). Moderately trafficked with very little shade. Restrooms, trash cans, and trail information at the parking lot areas, but no trash cans or facilities along the trails.

Trails are easy to hike, which is why I like taking my little kids here. There is not much shade, but the flora and rock formations are great. Last time we were there, someone put a threatening and obscene bumper sticker on my car. So be careful when parking your car and make sure you lock up!
