Sites are nice. Employees are helpful and nice. Draw backs are they quit selling propane tanks, there are some really bad pot holes in the road, and the cable goes in and out all the time. Weve been camping here for years the week of Thanksgiving and there has always been cable issues. Every year they say the same thing, cable is being repaired right now
The campsite was fine. My issue was the bathrooms. They locked them for some reason. Had to go to the other campground to use facilities. Also they Department of Natural resources riding around like they were police or something. They also charged us for parking pas twice. We booked a full week which included parking pass. I guess they wanted a tip. This was some BS. I probably wont return.
Busy place on weekends! The spots on the water are jammed with people, tents and vehicles. I cannot imagine what it is like in the summer. We had a spot over looking the lake and busiest places. We liked being there. During the week its peaceful.
Campsites are nice but close, no recycling, dont think well be back, campground turned into a trump rally
This park is very nice. The views are beautiful. My family and I love playing the putt putt course there too!!
Very nice state park with cabins and large campground. 4 boat ramps to Clarks Hill Lake. Miniature golf and nice playground too. Eager to return.
Very well managed and ran. We take our 3 kids here every year. They love the playgrounds, fishing, mini golf and the room around the site. Bath houses are typical of the State Parks; theyre kinda old but kept clea.
A beautiful getaway with great views & plenty to do! Hiking, mini-golf, camping, fishing, kayaking & canoeing. This is one of our top 10 state parks in Georgia!
Great wide open spaces for walkies, a lake and a mini golf space are just a few of the meany possible activities sure to fill any doggone day with fun.It also has a boat ramp, camping and canoe and kyak rentals for when you wanna doggy paddle with am ore.We enjoyed the picturesque location near the swanee river. We will be sure to wag on back whenever we are hecking good boyos
Beautiful park with a ton of great camping sites. I would definitely recommend staying here. Playground for children; clean bath houses and showers. Wonderful views of the Savannah River and a fun hiking trail too!
Good camping sites and clean facilities. Well maintained and quiet
I had a lovely time here during early COVID. I returned this weekend and was appalled at the service inside the “gift shop” where I had to check in even though I’d paid online, there were no masks and the 3 people behind the counter acted like I was inconveniencing them. There’s a festival of some sort across the lake and the live music is so loud I can’t hear the person I’m camping with speaking at a regular volume. Two sets of neighbors at the walk in tent site were playing loud music until well after quiet hours last night after the festival music finally stopped. Who comes to the woods to be engulfed in all this noise?? Sure, it’s beautiful, but I can’t enjoy it with this non-stop assault to my ears. I thought I’d found a gem here at Elijah Clark, but instead I found the least relaxing vacation I’ve ever had. Zero stars.
Just finished a weekend in the middle of July. The temps were high but the experience was awesome! Stayed in a walk in right on the lake. So beautiful! To be fair, we reserved two lots because of a big 3 room cabin tent that we use. However, we probably didnt need to. The lots are spacious. We WILL be back!
Great state park for enjoying the water and camping. The cabins look great. Choose your campsite carefully as some have power and water by the concrete park bench. Bath facilities are very clean and the staff were helpful.
The park, campground and bathhouses are very well kept. Nice, spacious campsites that are not too close together. All on a huge beautiful lake.
Wish there wasnt concrete tables on the site so that we could move them when needed. Other than that its where we spend the holidays every year!!!! Absolutely recommend to everyone
Very nice campground. Staff and hosts were friendly. All campground roads and sites are paved. Lots of space. Had a great time fishing, swimming and playing around the campground. Store and mini golf were closed due to virus when we were there.
Spacious sites. Clean restrooms. Beautiful views!
I went again this year after a 23 year absence and the place is as beautiful as I remembered. People who camp at the park and the local citizens are down to earth, good people. No matter how you like to camp, you’ll find an area for you. There’s those who like to be closer to nature with tents and hiking nature trails. Do you want conveniences closer at night in your campers. Also, for you who a little more alone time and all the necessities, you’ll find cabins available.
Big camp sites, its nice just campers beware tho some of there electric plug ins are on the wrong side for RVs, no wrong way or rite ways to go arrows just a miner heckup its all good, love the camp sites on the water, and not really sure if the have trails to mountain bike or hiking trails, lots of golf carts but have to have a park pass for them too but all and all its a great camp site .
Great campground, but the park rangers not nice. Ask to sell us a sticker, nope but will take you money to get into the park. And they were rude about it. Will not come back
Beautiful lake. State Park has plenty camping and 20 cabins. Nice scenery.
This place is very nice but the roads need to be marked and direction arrows to let you know how to enter the site so that you are coming into your sit correctly so power and water are on the right side. Sings to let you know what site are alone which road would be appreciated.
Easily the most beautiful campsite I’ve been to in the southeast. Our site (17) was right on the lake with amazing views of the sunrise. We walked our kayaks right down to the water from our campsite. Bathrooms and showers are clean and kept up. Our site had a cement picnic table which was nice as it didn’t have that wood table slime feel after a morning dew. I will definitely be back.
The park was nice and very clean. Fishing was great
Nice little park. Mostly RVs, but we stayed in the walk in tent area. Hardly any walk to get to the sites, but great that most are close to the water. Site 2 is probably the best. Site 9 (where we stayed) was nice, but the table was a little far from the fire pit, and there was no completely level ground for the tent. We went in July and it was excessively hot. Great spot if you have a boat, but otherwise not much to do.
Most beautiful state park I have ever seen
4th or 5th trip here & its absolutely one of our favorite parks for camping. Staff & hosts always friendly & accommodating. Sites are kept clean. Lots of waterfront options, as well as 50 amp spots. Nice camp store. Kayaks & canoes for rent. There is also a nice playground for the kids & an 18 hole mini golf course. Grocery stores only 10 minutes in either direction, in Lincolton or McCormick. Well be back again soon. Have seen a bald eagle here each of the last two trips!
Great park to take the family. Camp sites are nice, has nice beach and beautiful views.
Beautiful well kept park . Lake is huge .Bring floats and tubes. Plenty to do . Nice hiking trail.Large shaded lots .Only negatives was inconsiderate campers . Had their junk strolled across a public area . Played music very loud .And store is not stocked .
Great place for camping and they have cabin
One of the best parks around along with Bakers Creek and Hawe Creek. Will be returning here again
Dont worry about trying to book a waterfront site here. All of the waterfront is for use by everyone. When we got to our site #53, there were so many neighbors sitting on the waterfront I couldnt even use it.
Very beautiful place Ive been coming here half my life full of activities for quality family time
Sweet little park with a nice trail and views. I wish it wasnt so close to the road but enjoyed the overall distance and ease of the trail. Playground is very nice and appreciated the Clark cabin set up.
Enjoyed a fall camping trip right on the lake. The RV turnout was impressive for a chilly weekend. Highlights are the three-mile trail, mini-golf, and the friendly staff at the front desk. Worth a visit!
Great place to visit on a beautiful day.
Very beautiful park. As the pictures show. Spent a whole week with my family in the wilderness and it was great! I pray we come out again to this park.
Great place to go camping with an RV! Great rates too! We will definitely be back!
Beautiful park with nice lake for swimming, boating, or fishing. Nice big campsites.
Beautiful site, clean comfort stations, helpful staff. Great camping!!!
The BEST! Gorgeous, clean and WORTH the trip! We will be back again and again!
I learned who to swim and had a good time with my family and ate
I love this park! There are several sand beaches & tons of camping available here.
A great place to stay!! We stayed in 2 different sites and loved both! Definitely get a site on the water. We had site 17 and the view was wonderful!
My husband and our two dogs had a 2 day getaway here. It was the only place I could get into last minute. It was okay... we were placed right by the restrooms (which is our fault for waiting last minute) but made me feel super bad for the people next to us. Our youngest dog barked at every single stranger going potty we didnt get to explore a lot but Ive been to much prettier state parks in Georgia. So I think I will plan ahead better and try our luck without our dogs somewhere else. There was nice shade, online it said grill (but it was just over the firepit) I didnt like that, the campsites are REALLY close together. I could here every single word of my neighbors sutle conversations. The office was SUPER friendly and had a little cute shop with tee shirts and stuff. All in all it wasnt a bad experience except for my dog
Close to home. Family oriented.
Nicely maintained park, spacious shaded sites, and friendly staff.
We love Elijah Clark state park! We attend the Little Roy and Lizzy festival every April/May and we use the bathroom/shower facilities and they are always clean and well maintained, as is the rest of the park.We highly recommend this Park!
Easy to get to and find. Friendly neighbors.
Always enjoy going here peaceful, relaxing, fishing dock, can rent or bring your own kakaks, also clean picnic and bathroom areas, overall nice place for family!
Georgia state parks never seize to amaze. Just when we thought the last GA state park could not be beat in terms of views, things to do and overall cleanliness of the park, Elijah State Park comes along and beats the previous one. Like other reviewers have noted, some of the camp sites are tight so select your camp site carefully keeping in mind the size of your rig and/or trailer + tow vehicle. While some of the rest stations in the park were undergoing renovation, one of the benefits of camping in winter is you dont have to use them if you are there just for the weekend. We got a camping spot that had no other glamper on either side of us. It was like we had the place all to ourselves. We, for sure, will be going back again to enjoy the sights, sounds and warm weather in the great outdoors.
Absolutely amazing! Best kept secret
Stayed in July & was really Hot, however+u can get in water right behind ur site (#50) when on water & its warm & doesnt smell fishy+Nice level sites..easiest setup in our 5th wheel+Clean baths+ Saw wildlife, deer, heron, geese+Quiet+Washer & dryer (but washer didnt work well(drain)+Dump station outside of campgrd+Reasonable prices & ice cream at gift shop- $5 fee for parking even when u have reservations-Gift shop could be larger w more selection, no park magnets in stockWe r prejudice as our state(VA) parks r voted best but wd come back here!!!!
We loved camping here. Walk in tent camping was perfection. Right on the lake and clean, maintained sites. Bathhouse was also clean and maintained on toilet and shower areas.
Nice park, plenty of spots right on the lake, none available when we booked, but we needed a pull thru. Settled on site 133 campground 2
Peaceful. Boat ramps available in multiple locations. Also has a small beach and fishing dock.
With out a doubt, one of the best state parks in Ga. Huge campsites, most of them water front. Great place too unwind, relax and forget about your troubles. Between coming here for 48 years
What a cute state park. Had a blast hiking
Most of the campsites are spacious and offer you a view of the lake. Great place to enjoy water sports, fish, or just relax and enjoy the lake. Cabins are also nice and very conveniently located right next to the lake.
Had an after-hours issue at the park, Michael and Chris came out and solved our issue, best park rangers ever! Thanks again guys, yall Rock!
Its an awesome getaway from Atlanta with great views and solid amenities!
The campground is spectacular. The sites, although not spacious, are adequate. The waterfront sites are glorious.... the views of the sunsets and sunrises over the water are breathtaking. The bathhouses are small for the number of people camping. If you want the lake, this is the place to go!
Beautiful park. Very reasonable rates for RVs. Easy drive from Augusta.
Beautiful lake views. Nice clean level sites. 20 - 30 & 50 amp with cable TV too!. Lots of State and county parks dont offer these luxuries. Kelli at the office was very friendly and helpful. This was the first leg of our 40th year anniversary trip.
Excellent campground with clean bath houses and restrooms. The lake is nice and not overcrowded. Sites are a decent size and well spread out. All the hosts are friendly.
We always camp at SC parks but let me tell you, Elijah Clark had spoilt us!The campsites are very large and stadium stacked meaning that even sites farther back get a view of the lake. The waterfront sites are pristine and so well kept. Concrete tables, some have stand alone tables for cooking and prep and fire pits. There are many bath houses but one is older and not as nice as the new bath houses which are amazing! There are multiple campground hosts and they keep the entire grounds clean. Which is a huge difference between GA and SC parks. The sites are very affordable and the cancellation or change fee is minimal. There is an awesome beach area which is piped off so that parents dont need to fret as much about their little ones. This is a bit far from the campground (maybe 1 mile) so bring bikes, golf cart or drive over.Bike riding is a must since this is mostly level with only a few big hills.Bald eagle just swooped down near us on the beach which was amazing! So keep your eyes peeled. There are firewood, ice, mini golf and two playgrounds to enjoy!Despite our trip being during covid 19 changes, the campground allowed us to forget about our worries for a while and to reconnect with nature.Lastly, the folks camping and the hosts were beyond nice.If you are there on a Tuesday check out the McCormick (10 mins away) farmers market from 3-7pm. We walked downtown and enjoyed our Amish baked goods. Also we did the little gold mine museum. The tour takes about 45 mins then you can mine gold or gems. Very affordable and neat. Better for kids 7 and, up but very worth the info.
Very Beautiful Park. The only thing that ruined it was the guy behind me in a walk in camp site running a generator pretty much 24/7. They should have went to one of the sites with power hookups. Not the walk in area.
It is a fun place to camp and walk. It does have some secluded tent sites as well as a wide array of open RV camping. Lots of places to walk and have fun with the dogs as well as tons of lakefront Beach. There is a strictly enforced 15 mile per hour speed limit so just be aware if you are on a bike.
I would not recommend camping here. The amenities are to far from the campground. You couldnt choose a specific site either at the time we went.
It was a great way to bring the family together and have a good time!
I love this place we had a blast!!! Clean restrooms.
Great place to camp. Lots of sites on the water.
Great park. Campsites level, clean...lake was amazing.
Great place to get a way
Clean, quiet, peaceful, beautiful park on the lake. I highly recommend this park!
We had a fantastic time. Everyone there was outstanding. Great folks to work with. The park is beautiful and quiet. My wife and I are very impressed and we will be coming back. Thanks for a great time. The Williamsons.
Well kept campground. A tad pricier than other state parks. Grey dump stations are locked up. You either tow it to the sanitary station or they offer a local pay pump service. We stayed at site 33.
Very nice place for a gathering! Had a Wonderful visit with some great friends for their daughters birthday party. Came home and reserved a spot for our family cookout!! Cant wait to go back!
Beautiful and fun park. We were in the Pioneer camping secttion, with great view of the lake and plenty of room for multiple tents. Interesting recreated colonial-era log home, and kids loved to make walking candles. Nice park for kids, and nice trails.
We stayed in the primitive camping area right near the water and it was lovely. Make sure to bring a camping pad or air mattress because the camping area is gravelled. We did not bring one of those but I slept really good. I love being in nature and outside so it was very grounding for me. The bathrooms are clean and were well stocked. There was no one there when we went, we were the only primitive campers plus it was on a Wednesday. I recommend this place, its kind of off the grid which I absolutely love.
Nice cabins. Felt like home. Beautiful scenery overlooking Clarks Hill Lake.
There are yellow jackets other than that it is good
Had a great camping experience nice and clean place to visit.
Great experience as always!
Had a great time. Cant wait to go back.
Nice large RV pads beautiful views.Bathrooms were not clean, grass was very tall around site. Also we had sewer leak-bad smell around campsite #41. Overall was ok,friendly people and lots of amenities for family fun but needs much better maintenance-grounds keeping!!
This place is beautiful and its worth it
Great campground. The cabin we stayed is was clean but could use some updates. But we loved staying here. Will definitely do it again.
Beautiful, lots of camp sites next to the lake.
Cant believe they charged me 5.00 per vehicle and no military/senior/disability discounts. Wont be coming back. We had a lot of ppl in our party too; my daughter, and her 3 children.
