I am the great grandson of legendary Duffy’s bartender Hank (Lena Mae Schmid). We were dropped off at Duffy’s Bar yesterday afternoon around 5 while we rode around town on one of the bike tours after being told they offered $10 fishbowls with our wristbands. Upon arrival, we were all masked up and entered to bar to be met with a “You all need to go out back” from the bartender. No offer to take our order, no “Welcome”, no nothing. We went through the restaurant and to the back patio where another group on the other bike tour was also waiting. They were also discussing how rude the bartender was to their group. We tried to enter the bar again after a few minutes of waiting to place an order (there were literally zero other patrons inside or outside on the patio besides the two bike groups) but were once again told by the bartender to go out back and wait. At that point, our group opted to leave and take our business elsewhere. We were saddened that we could not get a drink at the bar our great-grandmother had worked at for so long.

Great long time dive bar. Fun atmosphere. Good music. Variety of cheap Tallboys and of course Fishbowls!

Thanks for bringin Wax! Our first time to Duffys tonight. Had a great time. Couple glasses got broke. They were quick to clean up. Outside patio was nice with fire pit.

This is literally a second home. Its the most amazing place on earth. I want to get married here. I want my wife to have our kids here. Even in my death bed I want to play giant jenga on stage.

Good place to listen Rock music. In warm days they have a fire pit outside.

Gotta love a fishbowl! Their outdoor patio is amazing. Comfortable atmosphere for most are range (obviously above 21)

I liked it better when you could buy gyros through the window here.

We enjoyed a few drinks at Duffys as well as a few other bars downtown during New Years Eve. Duffys atmosphere was great, and the drinks were cold!

This place has some of the best bartenders in town, great bar and venue.

I ordered a Guinness. My server was adequate. I would definitely order another Guinness here when I visit Lincoln again. I like the updated facade.

My favorite bar downtown! Not only are you immediately greeted by the staff, but their friendly demeanor makes it easy to strike up conversation adding to the experience as a whole. They not only have many fun games to play (life-sized Jenga, connect four, pool, & darts) but have amazing happy hour deals. $10 vodka fishbowls on Thursdays- What more could you ask for??? Besides free Valentinos pizza on Friday at 5!!! This is a perfect getaway from the usual O Street, with amazing character (seriously what the heck Nirvana played here!!!!) and ambiance. My friend and I love it so much that we hope one day we are cool enough to become regulars!!!!

Met one of my best college buddies here after not seeing him for 15 years it was an awesome time. Took in a Husker game. Mac passed away a few weeks ago, great to see him again. Great times.

Great bar in downtown Lincoln where youll see an excellent cross section of local, regional, and national bands. Live music on Wednesdays and Sundays, lots of specials, and a great staff. Good tap selection as well. Expansive beer garden with a giant fire pit make chilly spring and fall nights cozier. When I lived downtown, this was one of my favorite spots to grab a beer and find some friends.

The sound opporater doesnt know what hes doing and they charge a $10 cover charge. Not to mention the drinks are expensive once you get inside. Not a great spot for college kids or people just out of college.

Excellent environment to just hang out and enjoy the company of friends.

I love that they allow dogs, but one of the bar tenders seemed to not be too fond of them.

Duffys is fine if you like a divey spot to relax. I really enjoy the back patio.

Great drinks and great staff

Probably the best stage in lincoln. The bar is very large and has a wonderful beer selection. The crowd is new age and accepting of all sorts. You will not be bored. The back of the building has a fire pit/smoking area that allows you to take your drinks out. Very cool place. On Monday nights they have an open mic for comedians.

Four stars for the place. Five stars for nostalgia purposes. I spent a lot of time in this place during college. It was the fallback position. It was comfortable. It is a college hang out so if you are not looking for that type of atmosphere you best go somewhere else. ...or harden up and just go inside. You will have fun.

Duffys has been a family tradition..my dad and uncle hung out there, and my aunt waitressed at the restaurant that used to be next door. Hank gave me some of the best life advice. Ive seen soooo many bands there.

I am a member of the Broadway touring company of Motown. We decided to go to this bar for a night out after the show and had a BLAST! Beautiful venue and good prices. Also, Amanda was a tremendous help to me and so friendly. A+ experience on behalf of the cast of Motown the Musical.

Hole in the wall with a pretty good selection of local bands playing regularly. The place is usually pretty dirty, but the price of the fish bowls is decent.

My personal favorite place to grab a drink with friends in Lincoln. friendly staff, beautiful women, great drinks at decent prices. spot in the back with fire it great. yes sometimes you have the drunk guy that wants to act stupid but there are enough staff to quickly have it taken care of. fish bowls well worth the money it costs which isnt much by comparison to what you get. very popular can get a bit crowded at times but the best places will have plenty of people. happy atmosphere.

Love it, the fire pit is amazing! The bartenders are the best and the atmosphere is perfect. Where else can you drink your alcohol from a fishbowl?

Was told this place had amazing fish bowls. They didnt seem to have much alcohol for the size, unless you get the long island ice tea fish bowl. Many games there such as pool, giant connect four and a giant jenga, foosball and darts. There is a fire pit in the back.

Live music!!! Pretty spacious so great for a group. Also, fish bowls.

Nice experience here. Service was good as was the beer. Lots of TVs to watch. No kitchen so no food but they allowed us to bring outside food and even had free pizza.

Duffys enforces a minimum bill of $10, so make sure you order drinks for everyone and not just you and your date. Wouldnt be so bad if the bartenders let you know about the minimum before mixing your sub-$10 cocktails.This location also likes decorating with imbalanced tables and missing seats.

It has always been a solid staple of Lincolns bar scene. Get a fishbowl or youre not from here.

Great show at Duffys watching Universe contest and couch jackets and the other band I missed but a great atmosphere a great outside patio and all of the waitresses were friendly and helpful and dont forget Nirvana played there years ago

Duffys is a decent place to get a drink and have a good time and its one of the hotspots in town. That being said the people who run the place must have a very specific idea of the type of music they want played there and multiple times Ive had my song choices on the jukebox overruled by someone behind the bar. In general I dont think they take any risks with the music they play and its very mainstream unimaginative music. So while a jukebox does not make or break a bar it doesnt make sense to me why they have one if theyre going to let you pay to use it and then cancel your song choices. If youre reading this you might think this is a little over-the-top and Im focusing on one detail of the place but really I think this jukebox thing is just a symptom of a larger attitude problem with the people who run Duffys. On the whole this is just your run-of-the-mill college bar and the owners dont seem to care about improving the place.

Went here with a few friends. I tried to order a drink with a friend; he was served almost immediately, but it took me over 10 minutes. When I finally ordered the bartender said my drink cost $3 more then the menu price and overcharged me even after I questioned the price.

Duffys is the place to go for good times and music!, but I actually went upstairs to get my hair cut from Sean at Tangerine!

Place Sucks. I was playing the jukebox and the bartender skipped my song. Who skips Led Zeppelin? Apparently wasnt someones favorite despite the fact I was spending money.
