Nice size convention center with clean bathrooms and comfortable seating in the auditorium, which had a balcony.

The show was fabulous!! Civic Center not so fabulous!! We had six wheelchairs, two people with walkers and five of us walking. When tickets were purchased 3 weeks before program....questions about wheelchairs and walkers were asked. We were assured no problems. These questions were addressed because we were taking Residents of our Nursing Home to see the show. Upon arriving we were placed against the first row of seats, with guests in them. Then informed fire code was isles must be clear. You cant place a wheelchair in an isle and have it clear. Ushers were upset because our residents could not be moved into chairs. Finally, after show started, some wheelchairs were at bottom of auditorium, some at top of auditorium. Our three walking Residents were seperated as no seats together were available. Two seats were found for four of us taking them to show. At one point we were told The show was for children, we shouldnt have brought them. I guess my question is Who paid their taxes to build the Civic Center? Oh my.....our Residents.

So the reason we were there was because of manheim steamroller.....but the auditorium was waaaaay to hot!!! Crazy hot! If it can hold that many people it needs to be able to keep the temperature at a decent level!! The musicians were wiping sweat with towels!!! Just pretty sad!

The Lima veterans Memorial Civic Center its a great place to see shows. We been to movies, plays, musicals, and concerts. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Recently, we went to see the amazing talent of Celtic Woman and were blown away by their incredible performance!

Ive had great experiences there both as a patron and an employee. I believe this place brings respect for to the entire community since people come here from all over country

My daughter rented two large areas for her wedding and reception. The price was steep to say the least. Was to include table table cloth, napkins, silverware, chair and table set up. My first problem was several tables were in significant need of replacing. Duck tape repair jobs really tacky. Then the silverware was dirty. We are talking food dried and stuck to them. We took them to the kitchen ran them through the dish machine and they came out dirtier. We had to clean and sanitize it and all the dishes and all the silverware again. They wanted more money to use a microphone and a huge fee to use a beat up piano that was already sitting in the room. NOT the class act that we expected at all!!

This place has great venues for a variety of events. Examples include concerts, ballet, and plays. Tickets are moderately priced. Has excellent security staff. Venues are listed online, can get tickets online or at the door.

We have been there for two separate shows in the last month. The shows were very nice.They need a better place for food and beverages ... as of now, they are in a rather small lobby which makes it very hard to get around. The area is too congested to have an easy flow through the line. Prices are pretty reasonable on the snacks.

We had a wedding reception here and when we got to the party they could not get the kegs to pour correctly. The manager that was on duty that night was very arrogant and tough to work with. We finally got the issue resolved and went on with the night. We accidentally left our bag of cards from our guests and the next day they were no were to be found. They have no cameras in the facility (which is kinda weird in downtown Lima) I called the manager (Matt I think) to speak about the matter and he didnt want to hear any of it. We know we had the cards when only our parents were left in the room and when we went to leave we left them behind. He assured me theres no way his staff could have done anything with them and it must of been the people that were there that took them. Basically saying our own parents stole our cards. His attitude on the phone was so poor I had to just hang up. He should find a new job because public relations does not suit him well. In short it was a terrible night that we will never forget and I recommend finding somewhere else to have your event.

I saw my first musical here! It brings in such amazing shows, performances, and special events for easy access to culture and the arts in Lima. Ive never had to pay for parking and it is surrounded by delicious downtown restaurants.

Event was great, facility is nice. Mgmt and some of the staff at the building are very unsupportive of local businesses. They make it very difficult for the business running the event I attended to operate. So much so that the business will likely move to a far inferior facility to avoid the old boys mentality that evidently is in charge of the VMCC. Lima should be ashamed for allowing the behavior exhibited by the leadership at this building.

A very good place to host a variety of events and hosts lots of large and small events that the public can attend. They have staff to hire on for events to help the organizers with their event.

Went to war wrestling event here...staff was disrespectful and unprofessional. Food is disgusting and cold, everything was way over priced. They have a vending machine but its apparently just for looks. Im surprised they dont charge you to use the bathroom.

Went to war wrestling and they claimed the Civic center is the ones selling drinks and food and not war wrestling....workers were very rude and unprofessional....why would you let such an unprofessional group use your center....they definitely have the Civic center a bad name....
