Lots of small town & historical charm, but not that great technically speaking. The movies were not that much cheaper than nicer theaters & the screens had dead spots & the quality of the space was lacking. It had definitely seen better days. At the same time, a lot of people - myself included - have a lot of fond memories of this place. Smelled kind of funny. Sometimes had bats. Is now permanently closed.

This is a nostalgic theater. Offering not only a great cinematic experience but a trip back into simpler times when you got free popcorn and soda refills. Your choice of seats because the theater isnt over crowded, at amazing prices. For starters because it brings me back to my youth and home town theater. My family and I love it.

Such a cute place and I hope those that live there now carry on the tradition of these old school movie theaters. The movies are cheap and not always the #1 release, but its so much fun to be in a little old theater just like how it used to be. Its not for those that will only accept reclining seats or full bars to accompany their 3d movie, but that is fine because those that do appreciate this kind of place will be the only ones there.

A piece of history but with still enough modernization to enjoy a great movie!

Lot of people have high praises but 4 star ratings. Prices are great, the seats are in front of the screen, and the ground is a nistalgy sticky. This theater is a classic and it deserves a historical placker.

What a great place to watch movies. Not to mention walking distance to many different restaurants and bars. Free refills on popcorn and sodas, makes it affordable for our family of 6 to still go out to the movies.

The price is right and they have great military discounts in addition. Set your expectations for a basic experience. Sound quality isnt great. But, no crowds and the picture is fine. They had a little trouble keeping the place clean. But it was probably the end of the day rush.

Just saw Spiderman there for our Son’s birthday. What a complete sh@$hole of a place. The A/C was off so everyone was uncomfortable and they didn’t turn the lights down until 15 minutes into the film. Shut that place down.

This theater is all right. The prices aren’t horrible, but for a couple bucks more it’s nothing compared to other theaters in the area. They don’t completely rip you off on concessions, as there’s free refills on every size of popcorn and drinks. No cup holders. You go here for the classic feeling. It’s a very simple and small theater.

I love going to this theatre. Ive been going for years and no its not fancy and no there are no cup holders for all you cry babies complaining about freaking cup holders. But there is so much history in this old theatre. My dads friend worked in this theatre when it first opened and he and Marlon Brando were both ushers and that is super cool.

I showed up to see Wonder and found it not on the marquis. So I purchased my $8 ticket for Coco. I was the only patron on a Tuesday night so the young man started the movie, which I was technically 15 minutes late for if we are going by the marquis, for me and brought my popcorn and drink. It was a lovely solo viewing. Bring your blanket and gloves. It gets quite cold in that huge theater.

I live in libertyville, I have been here my whole life, when I was younger I would walk to the liberty theater as it was the closest around. as time went on new theaters have opened up and this one has stayed the same, sadly I mean that it has not been cared for when I say stayed the same. I mean that they do not clean the place they do not upgrade the place. The liberty theater is probably losing money. I do not recommend this movie theater.

Nice Theater, I figured like WOW where Marlon Brando used to work as usher between in 1939 to 1941. Marlon is famous for his acting work in Hollywood movies. Keep this theater up alive. Hooray from Hollywood! LOL

Worse theater, screen is very small. Went back and asked for refund way before movie started. Was told they dont do refunds. Said they could give me passes for another day I advised I dont live around here. Also why would I come back if I dont like the place. Ruined my night, I dont go out that often and would of liked going to a nice place not a rinky dink place as this place is.
