It was a date night for my wife and I. We had purchased tickets before hand and picked up at will call about an hour before the show. While we waited we took a short walk to Baxter Brew Pub for a snack. When we arrived back at the Public Theatre we had tickets in hand and proceeded to the entrance where an usher helped us to our seats. We had a middle row seat and my wife had a great view. I had to imagine half of the stage as there was a fairly large head in my way. Its all good after all this is date night and these situations make for a good laugh later on. The show was great fun and we felt comfortable. Apparently, we attended a show that was a record sellout for the theatre. Amenities at the theatre include a concession with drinks and friendly service.I hope to go back as this was my first impression and I felt really good about my experience.

Smaller theater with 310 seats. Normally produces plays but is doing a co-production with Maine State Music theater of the musical GREASE.Free parking next to the theatre. Concessions sell beer, wine, coffee, bottled water, cookies and more. Last night was a free wine tasting. Great volunteers and staff.Go and enjoy.

Great small venue with not a bad seat in the house. It was our first visit and will be returning.

Another awesome night at The Public Theater! We have been going here for 14 seasons now and have never been disappointed. The performances are professional. The staff is polite and friendly. Everything is clean and well maintained. An incredible experience for a local theater!

We saw an excellent production of Grease in this great theatre. The volunteer team was very courteous and the show was a blast.

The Public Theatre offers incredibly well performed plays starring Equity actors and actresses. The plays are always engaging and entertaining; ticket prices are reasonably priced. I highly recommend The Public Theatre!

The Publis Theatre is nice and puts on good shows but is very small in relation to not enough seating. They would need more seating in order to be proportional with their popularity

The best Little theater in Maine. They bring in great actors from New York. Staging is simple, but effective. I always enjoy a play there.

I remember coming here on field trips when I was in school. the most professional playhouses Ive been to in the androscoggin.

Small, local theaters, like The Public Theater, are the craft breweries of the stage. This is where the really compelling stuff is happening. Every town should have an intimate venue like this.

Came to see a Christmas play. It was really well done. Small theater, but nicely put together. Snacks at intermission were reasonably priced as well.

A wonderful production of The Christmas Carol, an annual tradition. Great prices, and superb acting. The cast was wonderful and curtious during a Q&A session.

Always worth visiting. Especially for the comedies.
