Great time today playing DJ Death - what a fun game. Very unique and off the beaten path - nothing like weve ever played before. Clue master is very immersive and helpful and most importantly very passionate about the game - we had a blast. What a great experience here today. The owner, Rene went out of his way to make our day extremely memorable and enjoyable. The two rooms we played were fantastically designed and extremely entertaining.

Had a great time in the assistant room! All 8 of us were able to split up into groups to figure things out. Plenty of hints were given to us to help escape the room. We all had a fun time!

My wife and I had a fantastic time escaping. The room was large and quite involved and the staff were fantastic.

Both the observatory and the assistant were great! This was our 58 and 59th escape rooms and they completely stand out as one of the best designed and most fun rooms we have done. The designer put so much love into his work and it shows. Truly outstanding original well crafted rooms. We cannot recommend them enough for anyone novice to expert. Great job!

Ive played 80 escape rooms at this point, and The Gate Escape remains one my favorite venues. Not only is the owner Rene one of the most passionate, genuine people youll ever meet, but the effort he puts into his games really shows.What strikes me about his games is his ability to turn everyday objects into unique, visually striking rooms that have a charm to them that I havent seen anywhere else, specifically The First Assistant room.He proves that by creative use of color and light, you can take simple things and, even without high tech wizardry, create experiences around them that are tons of fun. DJ Death (my favorite room of his) is a totally unique concept and uses sound and lighting to the max. It also has one moment at the very end that is sheer genius, especially if you get a certain reference. One of my all time favorite moments.His newest room, The Observatory, also contains a MASSIVE reveal, and something at the very end thats pretty funny, all wrapped up in a setting and story that, again, I havent seen anywhere else.No matter which game you choose (heck, play them all) you cant go wrong! Cant wait for his next one!

I had the best time!! Thank you so much to our host for being so welcoming. I am not an experienced player in escape rooms but he was very helpful with the clues he gave us and you can tell how much effort is put into making these room as fun as they can! They have rooms for both experienced and non experienced, would recommend for anybody!

This was the best escape room ever! I took my coworkers and we did ‘the assistant’ we figured things out with 15 minutes to spare! If you’re looking for something that keeps your heart racing and mind working I highly recommend this place! It was so much fun and none of us can stop talking about it!!!

6 people did the assistant. Nice variety of puzzles, several wed not seen elsewhere - incorporated theme and environment well. One, involving calculators was a bit tedious and time consuming but not terrible A few props couldve been incorporated into them more . Nice personal touches. Very well done overall - well definitely go back for the sequel.

Wonderful experience for our two teenage birthday girls and all their friends! Highly recommended for a group party.

Just finished the Observatory and had a great time. Without giving anything away, its good to have more than 2 people. Its great for 2 or 3 couples. Team work is encouraged. Would highly recommend this room and am looking forward to doing others in the future.

This was one of my first professional rooms and i had so much fun with my sisters and their friends!!! it was great!

We did The Assistant today and had a great time. The puzzles are challenging but solvable. The room is so well designed that you lose yourself in this other world for an hour. The owner and assistants were friendly, welcoming, and helpful at just the right moments. Well definitely be back to do The Observatory and recommend the Gate Escape to anyone looking for a great time with friends.

Fabulous experience! I was blown away by the ingenuity of The Observatory (and its hard to impress me with engineering surprises). Two really fun rooms that will delight both expert escapers and newbies alike. Cant wait to return for DJ Death. The charming owner, Rene, is worth the trip to Leominster alone!

Just finished the Assistant with 3 friends. It had a lot great puzzles and awesome props. The person running the room was super friendly and had a great touch for leading you in the right direction without giving to much away. Ill definitely be back for the other rooms!

Been to DJ Death & The Assistant, both of which were really fun! I definitely recommend, especially for beginners.

We did The Observatory last weekend and it was fantastic! I highly recommend it. There was a great variety of puzzles, everything flowed really well, and there were some terrific moments (I dont want to spoil anything, but go see for yourself!).And Rene (the owner) was amazing - he did a great job as gamemaster, and he created all the games himself and clearly loves doing this and talking about it. He was very generous with his time and spent awhile talking to us afterwards about the rooms and everything hes done - as an aspiring owner, it was very interesting and fun and helpful. Thanks so much Rene!

This was our first Escape Room and we all had a great time. Owner is extremely friendly and helpful, especially to us newbies. Will definitely try his other rooms!

Lots of fun! We just did this in a group of 4 and it was a blast. Some of the puzzles are abstract and some are really methodical, so there are good components of the room for all types of people.

An issue arose the day I had planned a event. This was completely out of the owners control and very understandable. What makes this soo unique is how well they handled it. They were genuinely unhappy we had to reschedule and made up for this condition that was not their fault 110%. I strongly recommend this great escape room run by amazing people. I will be back for future games. Thanks guys!!!!!

My friends and I went, and did the Assistant room this evening! The whole experience was a BLAST! The Gate Escape does an amazing job at developing the story associated with the room, as well as, having great clues throughout the room to help you be successful in escaping. This was my first experience with an escape room, and was nervous about what to expect... I CANT WAIT TO DO ANOTHER ONE! Thank you Great Escape!!

Our party of 8 had such a good time. We had a wide age range in our group, and everyone was able to help in some way. Our host was very friendly and helpful. So much fun.

The whole experience from start to finish was amazing! This is a great idea for people that want to go on a double or triple (or double) date with their friends, team building with people from work, or if you just like to puzzle things out. I will absolutely be bringing my family to this and finding other escape rooms to figure out.

First time in an escape room. It wasnt too easy but also not so challenging that you could get discouraged. Will go again and suggest everyone from enthusiasts to first timers.

This place was so much fun! The proprietor was friendly, warm and helpful, and the adventure was so well put together! He even opened up specially on Thanksgiving for us. I highly recommend it!

Ive been to escape rooms across the country, from Tahoe, NV to Columbus Ohio, and this might have been the best of all of them. The man running it is super kind and great to talk to and the games he designs are phenomenal. Highly recommend!

As an escape room enthusiast who has done 105 rooms total, I am happy to say these two rooms are 1 and 2 on my list. After doing so many games, its common to find patterns and predict answers, but both games through our team through a loop (in a good way). DJ Death is a playful horror room that is solid throughout, with a unique, beginner-friendly format. The Assistant is a great twist on the overdone science theme, with an atmosphere that is as immersive as it is bizarre. Both of the owners / game masters are the best we have encountered, being both welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Overall, for any of those seeking to have an incredible escape room experience, The Gate Escape is one of your best options, and either game you pick will be an incredibly fun experience.

It was incredibly clever. The way the puzzles were set up definitely took a lot of thinking power, and even more thinking power to get the puzzles solved as well. Want to spend some time doing something fun and different? Go here and get your puzzle solving skills out to the test

My husband and I just completed all 3 rooms at The Gate Escape in Leominster, MA. We consider ourselves enthusiasts, having completed ~35 rooms in the past 3 years. First, I will start off the review by saying that Rene is one of the most passionate and friendly escape room owners and Game Masters that we have ever met. He clearly puts his blood, sweat, and tears into every inch of these rooms. Next, let me go through a brief pro/con for each room in the order we played them in:DJ DeathPros: This room is just a great time. Between the soft ball puzzles and the amazing soundtrack, I can’t imagine anyone not having a great time in this room. There was enough of a mix of mental and physical that it really made the time fly.Cons: as a team of 2, we completed this whole room in about 34 minutes. Not too bad for a 45 minute room, but had we come with a larger group it may have fallen a bit short.The AssistantPros: A nice, vanilla escape room. I can see this being an amazing time for a big group for a night out. Nothing was too crazy difficult and several of the puzzles were nonlinear so everyone could be working in different parts of the room instead of all clustered up waiting.Cons: Probably our own bias, but not ideally suited for just a pair. There was a lot of searching that ate up tons of time, and there wasn’t a strong sense of flow from one puzzle to the next. There were also a few solutions that felt like a bit of a stretch.The ObservatoryPros: we came specifically for this room because it was hyped to have a unique reveal and it definitely did. We did this one with a larger group (6) and it kept everyone busy for almost the full 90 minutes. It really forced teamwork but also allowed everyone to have individual moments to shine.Cons: could use a bit of refinement. One puzzle in particular had way too many elements involved in the solution, in our opinion, and people were getting frustrated. With a couple simple tweaks it easily could have been one of the best puzzles (and rooms) that we have done.Overall, I would highly recommend that you give The Gate Escape a try if you’re ever in the area. It’s definitely a good time and a great way to spend an hour or two with family and friends. If you only could choose 1, I’d recommend DJ Death for smaller groups and The Assistant for larger. I would save The Observatory for those escapers who have a few rooms under their belt.

Our group visited The Gate Escape for the first time last week. We are not new to playing escape rooms, as we consider ourselves enthusiasts and have played most of the rooms in the area, but we were impressed by our experience here, and even consider this our favorite room played thus far! The First Assistant was a pleasure to meet, and our time in the room went quickly and smoothly. The room was creatively done with submersion elements, and there was a good mix of quality puzzles. We had a lot of fun, and were happy that we escaped before our time was up (even though we were stumped at one point and were doubting our success!). We had a little time to chat with the owner afterwards and talk about the room and process, and we left happy about our experience here. Its very easy to see that the owner has put a lot of effort and care into designing the room and entire experience! We will gladly return to play again when the second room opens soon!

My husband and I have done more than 50 rooms... The Gate Escape is one of our top 5 rooms. The experience is everything we have grown to love about escape rooms. From the warm greeting by the 1st Assistant (room owner) to the great decor and challenging, fun puzzles. Wether you are a new escape room player or an enthusiast like ourselves this room will not disappoint!! Go see what the Dr has in store and tell the 1st Assistant that Team Rabbit sent you!!

It was a different escape room than others I know of. It has more of a story and there are two rooms. Great props and puzzles, it really requires teamwork. It is a great idea for 10-13 year olds with the story, but the puzzles are difficult for everyone.

Was very fun and challenging. Will definitely be recommending to my friends. The owner was very nice and made the expirience even better.

The observatory was fantastic. As an escape room veteran I heartily suggest this place.
