We didnt even know this place was here until this weekend but we are very glad we decided to stop. There was so much to do and so many interesting things to see. More than 16 rooms, each with a different theme. Each room had kid-friendly, hands-on exhibits. The reptile room had so many cool reptiles. There was a handler there when we went who was happy to give us more than an hour of personalized, one-on-one time. He got out a few critters so we could see them and touch them. And he was so knowledgeable and kept giving us really interesting facts. So great!!!
My 6yo daughter loves this place, and its quite entertaining for me (her dad) too.
We had so much fun at the Hutchings Museum today. We attended the live animal show at 1:00 and I was really impressed by the presentation. The employees were really nice and very patient with all of the little kids. The museum seems small from the outside, but for only $5 a person I was amazed by all of the items they had on display. They also had quite a few interactive stations. I would highly recommend it!
My wife and I visited here because of my late grandfather had mentioned it because we are big into gem faceting and geology. The price of admission was way higher than I was told a few years ago but I understand why.The staff were very courteous and kind. The museum was very cool. Lots of Indian artifacts and more. They also have a room with live creatures you can view.
Friendly atmosphere and easy going. Several rooms to explore and subjects to learn about.
We loved how old everything is here including the building. They have adventure backpacks for the little ones to borrow with a small stuff animal buddy and magnificent glass. My kids loved them! They also had a scavenger hunt for the kids. That kept them entertained. When they finished their scavenger hunt they got to pick out a small polished rock for my 6, o and 10 year old and my 4 year old got to pick out a candy cane from the store. They were so thoughtful since my 4 year old will still put things in his mouth and the rock could be dangerous for him. They had real historical items that aren’t for little ones to play with and they also had hands on items and toys for little ones. We were the only customers there at the time which was nice. All the staff was warm and kind in their interactions. We went for my daughter’s 5th grade assignment and it was such a refreshing experience in comparison to the large main stream museums. My husband really likes it as well since he is into US history. We highly recommend this museum!!!
This is such a great place for families, kids, and date night! It’s a hidden gem in Lehi! The museum has many exhibits that are eye catching and informative. We went during the live animal showing and it was really interactive, fun, and entertaining! Great for science and history lovers along with people on a budget and looking for an activity! Highly recommend!
For a little, it packs a wallop! From Utah pre-history to war memorabilia to insects, this place is engrossing and surprising. Come with your family! My 13 and 11years olds loved it.
My husband and I went here for a day date. We really enjoyed learning about our local area. Its a small museum, but perfect size for kids with small attention spans. We also loved the price. Great family activity.
Would come back again. Loved seeing the animal show - the presenter was super knowledgeable and the animals were amazing! The museum has a great variety in its collection as well. Something for everyone. :)
We loved it! I took my 3 kids (6, 3, 1) and the two older ones did really well! They have a kids scavenger hunt and lots of entertaining things for toddlers, kids, and adults. A great winter day activity.
My friend and I took our boys to a reptile show they did there. The guys that put it on did an incredible job. They were super informative and answered all our questions and let us pet the reptiles. All the staff were super friendly. I will definitely be back!
We just went to Hutchings Museum and I was pleasantly surprised! They had much more there than I expected and the employees were super nice and helpful. My son loved that they offered a scavenger hunt for kids and didn’t want to leave
Fun, educational experience to take my kids to on a day off school. There was a field trip there we felt like we had to try and navigate around, but they invited us to join one of their presentations. My kids completed a scavenger hunt and got to choose a rock to take home as a souvenir.
The kids and I explored this museum after school today. They had so much fun with the scavenger hunt! The staff was super nice and helpful. I was amazed at how much history was packed into a smaller museum. We’ll be back.
A hidden gem of a museum! I went here on a whim because I happened to have a doctors appointment over in the area, and I really enjoyed the variety in this place. The Native American artifact collection is intriguing with some eccentric pieces that Ive never seen before like a carved turtle and double arrowhead. There are also live animals like tarantulas and lizards on display on their large containers. The rock section was especially interesting too with amazing geodes and crystals.
I’m not going to lie... I was shocked how cool this place was. There’s tons to look at and learn about. They even have hands on activities throughout to keep the kids engaged. You can’t beat the prices either! Active vets and their families get in for free! Definitely worth checking out. Will go again!
A lot of history and fun fossils with live animal shows.
Okay! This is Lehi’s little best kept secret. Such a fun museum to take the kiddos. They had a scavenger hunt for the kids to do, and I enjoyed all the different rooms. We will be back!
The animal show was great! My boys loved it! We loved walking around and looking at all the other cool things in the museum! I am looking forward to going again!!
There is a little of everything! It is an awesome place!
Totally awesome place to go and check out. Worth the 5 dollars for admission. Make sure you go on a day when they do the reptile show. We lived the reptile show and definitely learned alot. Highly recommend!
TRULY A ONE OF A KIND EXPERIENCE. Thank you to all the kind workers and to John Hutchings for making this possible. And a special thank you to Thomas Blackwelder for providing a captivating experience.
Cute and quirky museum with enough to engage my children for quite a while. You can’t beat the prices as well. Dinosaurs, rocks and minerals, Native Americans, live animals, Wild West and lots of WWII exhibits.
I brought my kids ages 12 and 8 to the museum on Saturday for an inexpensive afternoon activity. We had the museum mostly to ourselves and enjoyed every exhibit. We learned so much as we walked through the museum. From WW2, native Americans to dinosaurs, rocks and beautiful antiques throughout each exhibit. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We also stayed for a couple of hours and enjoyed the animal show where we learned even more. The staff was exceptional and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend and we will be returning soon!
Such a fun place! My kids love coming here and especially the live animal shows.
Fun place for kids and adults alike for an afternoon. Lots of things to see and learn.
Bigger than expected and my little girl loved seeing the animals.
Lots of cool things to see and fair priced. Had my daughter in the reptile exhibit and the staff came in and brought out a snake and a turtle for her to see.
Super thorough and friendly museum with a variety of curiosities and science.
Theres tons to see and do, very pretty rocks and cute animals!
I went here for the first time today, I loved it. Definitely going back. The only downside was it was hot inside.
Cheap but cool. Great interactions for kids.
Small but full of many kinds of exhibits including minerals, fossils, 1800s items and a good Native American room. Entry hall exhibits WWI WWII etc. Items.
Such a fun time for my 8 and 5 year olds. Lots of hands on exhibits and a good mix of things for adults and children to be entertained. We enjoyed the animal show they had when we went, but you can see them in a separate room if you dont see the show. Good gift shop where you can buy a little something for your kid and not have it break the bank (candy for .25 and cool rocks for .50). Looks humble from the outside but definitely worth a trip!
What an awesome museum. A hidden gem.
Great little museum
Its a great museum and you should take your kids there because its very educational and Hands-On
Loved the new displays. Great history in a small museum.
I didn’t love this place but the people were really nice and great service. Foot was ok.
Fun museum, not busy, fun interactive things for the kids.
This is a nice little museum. Was 4.00 for adults 3.00 for kids. Kept us busy for 1-1/2 hours. They even have a room with 15 or so reptiles. We had a good time and it kept our 7 year old entertained.
Super fun little eccentric museum with a mishmash of exhibits
Our family had a wonderful time at this museum. Lots to see and learn.
Great museum. Its got a lot of random history in it that was way more interesting than it should be
Much better than I expected. There were several things for kids to interact with which made it fun for the younger ones. The older kids loved the history.
Wonderful historic & geology collection
Awesome little museum and the animal show was way cool!
A lot of interesting things to see here. The live animal show was excellent for kids
What a unique place to visit. If youre in the area well worth a visit
My family went here for The Night at the Museum event. We had a great time and everyone was very energetic and fun. We will definitely be back!
Love the gift shop, the rocks are amazing. The whole museum is full of amazing memorabilia, history, antiques, and interesting things for little ones to check out. I especially love their Round Up events.
Me and my mom went in to see the daughters of the utah pioneers stuff and there were only four cases so she let us in for free. The lady at the desk was really nice and She even let me take a free deer/elk antler piece. I stopped at the gift shop and loved it.
Fun place to take Cub Scouts. Great little museum with some fun items of local history. Worth a visit.
Fun in a Summer Saturday night
Small and fun museum with activities for the kids throughout the exhibits. Their rock exhibit is pretty impressive and you can find some fun facts about Utah, and specifically the history of Lehi in there.
Cool little museum. Very reasonable prices. Wide variety of historical displays. My kids love the fossils and minerals the most.
Great collections on a variety of topics.
I have worked here for 7 years now.... I have learned millions... millions of facts about the Native American culture, Rocks and Minerals, Dinosaurs and Fossils and the pioneer history of Utah. The things I have studied and applied to my world and life has given me the power and freedom to live a more balanced life and this knowledge will allow me to exist when and if the world we know changes. I love this museum and I know you and your family will too!!!!
Great small museum.
Good museum but has a very good collection of minerals etc.
Great price and great museum.
There are many interesting and varied things to look at and learn here.
Our family went for their Night at the Museum attraction. Super fun. Nice, passionate people.
Fascinating experience on local, and regional history.
Although lacking the budget of another more well-known institution on the north end of town, the Hutchings Museum is worth the visit. Its a nice low-key affair whose merits rest solidly in its collections, as well as the historical structure it occupies. Lots to see and do here, with plenty of hands-on elements for the kiddos. My four boys, ages 3-7 were well-engaged for the better part of an hour and a half, and we enjoyed working on the Scout Patch program during our visit. Come for the Natural History, stay for the Cultural History; Hutchings has plenty of both with a rich collection of historical artifacts that profile the town history. As others have mentioned, chances are you will have the place to yourself, in spite of the low price of admission. Well be back again.
Its a cool little museum fill of local history.
A awesome little gem hidden by the legacy center in Lehi! Pretty cheap admission, they have a huge selection of rocks and minerals as well as history paraphernalia, a room with insects and reptiles, and native American pottery, arrowheads, clothing etc.
They’ve really cleaned it up from last year and made this museum nice. My kids loved it.
Great experience.
I loved looking at all the different minerals found in Utah. It has many different things to look at, the kids liked the original jail cell. The collections are interesting and varied.
It was a fun, locally focused museum with an eclectic collection. It is small and old, but had charm and the staff were great.
Visited yesterday with my 5-year old son. We both loved it! Thanks for keeping it open on Saturdays even though for the hour we were there hardly anyone else was.
This place! It was like finding a treasure, all tucked away in Lehi, Utah. I had no idea we had a natural history museum in this area.
Beautiful rock museum with many rocks from Utah.
Really interesting small museum. Worth the $4.
This museum has a wide range of exhibits. You could visit here a couple times and still not have time to take everything in.
The Museum if fun and the Staff is Awesome. They got an artifact out of storage so we could see it.
Its a museum, theyre all pretty much awesome.
