Beautiful location! The cabin was adorable, clean and comfy. A great getaway. Very dog friendly! Our pup was greeted with some fancy dog treats and a plush bed. The staff were very friendly and they have three different places to eat within walking distance. We tried them all and like the Grotto best. The only place we had bad service and a long wait was at O Gradys, but the rest was perfect. There were even a few deer roaming around the area. It was a great escape from the busy center of town, you cant go wrong with staying here.
So much to love about Sleeping Lady. Beautiful environment, thoughtfully planned accommodations, quiet but for the sounds of the natural world ( cars are parked and then you bring your bags to your room/cabin using a cart.), great food and service at the Kingfisher Restaurant and so much more. Sculptures placed throughout the property, different eating options. I saw one reviewer complain about no microwave or fridge in the rooms. If those kind of amenities ( no TV in rooms either) are important to you you might choose elsewhere, but if you want a peaceful stay nestled in natural wonder with a sensitivity to care for the environment ( and friendly, courteous service), you have found the place. I am already thinking about when I can return.
Went for a weekend trip with the wife after receiving a gift card. The rooms and grounds were fine and we enjoyed the trip. Part of the event was meals included at the onsite restaurant. Usually, I am led to believe, this is buffet style but no longer with C19.Anyway, the food was tasty and inventive but the service was a bit slow and not quite as attentive as it could have been. For example, upon arriving at breakfast we waited many minutes after being seated before being asked if we wanted coffee and/or water. Seems that seating for breakfast should include coffee almost immediately but this was not the case here. Is this nitpicking a little? Yes, but it is an opportunity for improvement and may simply be a by product of waitstaff adjusting to the change in service procedures. However, I want to reiterate the food was delicious and the staff was very kind and friendly.
This was a great little campus of cabins and various amenities. They are Eco friendly and currently upgrading their hot pools. I got to sit in it the last day it was open in the little snow and it was glorious. Unfortunately it will be down until May/June 2020 aborting to their website. The beds were oddly uncomfortable, a little too hot and a firm foam form for my liking. The spa was nice but a bit pricey. If you like having everything on one campus, this is it though! Chapel, theater, bar, play barn, fitness room, dining, shopping, small spas (2), library, sauna, and Im sure Im forgetting more. Their food was delicious, you cant go wrong. It is a buffet so expect higher prices; all inclusive resort. The grounds also offer art everywhere, monolith signs to help guide you around, a garden, outdoor patios, volleyball court. Its a 7 minute drive to Leavenworth, 15-20 minute bike ride, and a nice long walk (2.5 miles ish).
Great lodge! Great place to unplug and leave the electronics at home and reset your brain. You dont feel like youre on top of others as the rooms are more spaces out. This would be a great place to do a family reunion if you like your family.
Wonderful even during the pandemic, rooms were clean and sanitized. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Go book your room now. Its a little pricy but you get what you pay for.
The front desk person who helped us (Kevin) was great! He was so helpful and friendly! He also called us and made our dinner reservations when we said we were running behind (it was included with our package). Theres all sorts of cool art all around the property as well, its probably so neat in the winter! We want to go back at some point and stay longer, so we can see everything there :)
Amazing place. Wish the pool and hot tub was open. Otherwise, always great to visit this beautiful place in the mountains.
We loved ending the night at the Grotto Bar. We were lucky enough to get Bernice(sp?) as our server both nights we went. Such a friendly person and she really made our time there enjoyable. We will be back!
Great massage! Super professional and one of the best massages I’ve had in years.
Dont miss the Grotto bar (where locals hang out). Peaceful environment and very tasty drinks. Gluten free pizza options available.
Great experience. Beauty unmatched. Great service and very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Beautiful resort tucked away on Icicle road. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. If they dont know the answer, they will find out for you promptly. The views are stunning and the natural ambience is breathtaking. The shalas are spacious and full of amenities. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet style with locally sourced food (much of it grown from their garden on site!!) and ever last bit is incredibly delicious.
The best restaurant in town, go for a stroll through the aspen grove or down to the beach after you eat.
Love this place. We have been going here for 7 years. We love the laid back atmosphere how the resort is tucked back in the woods and that there is so much to do as long as you do not mind not having a lot of technology and mind numbing entertainment around. I enjoy taking a long walk in the crisp Mountain air. Love love this place. Oh and food is great.
Great hiking close by and love the Groto Bar. Perfect distance from downtown Leavenworth.
My friend had a wedding here and the staff hosted an amazing party. It was great. But it really came down to the front desk and security to helping make sure I got home safe. They went way above and beyond what a front of house staff would be expected to and I appreciate them so much for that. The staff here clearly care about their customers and that goes a long way in my book.
We had a lovely visit during a holiday weekend. Rooms are well appointed. Excellent bathrooms, linens, showers, and beds. Loft is scary high! I held my breathe any time I heard my niece climbing down in the middle of the night to visit the restroom. Hot pool, spa and sauna were great. Dinners and breakfasts at Kingfisher were great - you don’t have to leave the property and staff is excellent. We enjoyed hikes on the adjacent Icicle Creek Trail and the shuttle into downtown Leavenworth was a lifesaver during the tree lighting ceremony.
This place is very family friendly, super courteous and helpful staff. The mil discount breakfast wad exceptional. Thet have equipment for snowshoeing and cross country skiing it was so fun. The loft cabin was comfortable and kids loved it. The hot open air tub was great. The grotto had delicious drinks. I would recommend this place 10000%
Amazing place. Great grounds, great food, beautiful setting.
I visit this Resort every year for a work conference. The accommodations are upscale cabins. The linens are very soft on the beds. Its comfortable and peaceful. Ill enjoy my stay every year. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Unparalleled peacefullu bucolic setting, fantastic employees, organic everything. Rustic accommodations keep the natural theme authentic. Love the Grotto!
I havent stayed in the cabins, but every year we come for dinner at their restaurant, its a family tradition. They have the kindest staff, and the food is always tasty. The cabins all look magical in the wintery snow blanketed weather, its a lovely place.
Amazing resort. Have been here multiple times over the years for Oktoberfest and the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Its a few miles outside of town but a very short trip so you dont even notice. There are generally shuttles available for the big events into town and back. Book well in advance as this place can be full 6+ months ahead of big events. Certain times of the year there is a 2 night minimum but theyve been nice enough to make exceptions a few times. The food has always been fantastic. Dinner and breakfast are included in the price of the room if you book through the website. Its served buffet style with the quality of upscale fine dining. Great selection of wine. Booking through 3rd party sites like Expedia will look like youre getting a better price, but in the end the 3rd party sites do not include food. Its cheaper to book the room through the resorts website and ask them to remove the food charge. But... the food is worth it and you might as well go all out.Theres only so much a review and pictures can convey, so check it out if youre in Leavenworth. The grounds are open to walk through. Overall a very peaceful and beautiful place.
This lovely resort is set in the Bavarian town of Leavenworth. As if the town itself didnt have enough charm, this rustic resort is a nature retreat. Set on the icicle parkway, you can walk along the icicle river or go on one the many hikes in the area. We had drinks at the bar locally and were not disappointed. Highly recommend the Spanish coffee - what a treat just watching the drink being made with your own eyes and being lit on fire! We also went for the buffet dinner - the chef creates the menu and everything is locally grown. Each course had at least item to love, with the exception of desert which was a little disappointing personally. I would still recommend trying the restaurant. As an added bonus, most of the resort is cell phone reception-free but WiFi friendly, to add that extra distance from technology for a truly relaxing getaway
Amazing place in the winter. Absolute winter wonderland. Beautiful. Great food. This place is amazing but VERY EXPENSIVE.
Not so hidden gem. Amazing service and atmosphere. Love to grab breakfast or lunch here when we don’t want to drive into town.
We stayed at The Sleeping Lady for 3 nights in January. They had a ton of snow already and it kept snowing the whole time we were there. It was a winter wonderland. The resort is spread out among the trees with multiple lodges for guest quarters, restaurants, spa, etc. We had to walk along snowy trails to get to breakfast, reception, or anywhere. The groundskeepers worked very hard to keep all the paths relatively clear. It was beautiful. Some complaints: There is no TV, fridge, or fireplace in the room. We kept drinks cold by just throwing them outside in the snow. The shower had built in soap dispensers on the wall but these were gross (see picture). The food at the breakfast buffet was average buffet food.
A pleasant place for a business meeting with fairly good public areas and quite passable food in the restaurant. The rooms were the best point, spacious and comfortable. In good weather the grounds invite a stroll with some interesting sculptures next to the route. A little expensive, but in general a good site for a smallish meeting.
No socket connection near Bed, No refrigerator or microwave in room, had to walk to the reception to warm foodStaff agreed to warm our food in employees only section, very noisy flooring
Rustic, quiet, and away from the hustle and bustle of Seattle. Its a great place to just sit back by the fire or in the stone hot tub and recharge. Beautiful drive to the resort site. Great food served in their main restaurant. Friendly staff. Lots of activities in the area for children. Ill be planning a trip back in the winter to see the snow!
Rustic simplicity with a splash of convenience. Onsite restaurant, lounge, laundry and convenience store. Be prepared to unplug and unwind as there are no televisions and the cell service is nearly nonexistent on the property. Good Wi-Fi coverage in most areas of the resort
Luxury in the woods on the edge of the east side of the Cascades..away from the crowds in Leavenworth.
Took my mom to the spa at the resort. We both loved our treatments. Cozy setting. Fantastic massage from my therapist Erina.
My stay was amazing, everything from the food to the comfy linens and amazing staff. Miriah (sp) was such a lovely staff member. Really enjoyed chatting with her and her helpful tips! Really appreciated waiting in the library for my room to be ready. I loved the fireplace and the quiet atmosphere, a great place to sit and read a book in peace.
Very nice resort. The restaurant is buffet style, but the food is much better than a standard buffet.
The absolute most fantastic two days in recent memory. Delicious food, cozy rooms, beautiful snowy scenery and grounds. A fun hot pool to soak in that stays open late. Honestly the best bar and bartenders we have ever encountered and tasty drinks. We also got the best massages of our lives while staying there. We fully plan to return.
Its beautiful place I love it
Really great place for families or conferences.
We had a great time here at Sleeping Lady. The rooms are all very spacious. We had a queen bed with a twin/full bed in a nook for our son, which he loved. We went in January and the snow made it so gorgeous. The kids loved the play barn and the hot tub. I think the best thing was breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was buffet style with a rotating menu each day. Definitely recommend staying here if you get the opportunity.
Spectacular resort situated at the base the Stuart range offering top of the line services including an excellent restaurant, pool, library, grotto bar, game room, spa and yoga services and beautiful, comfortable rooms. 10 min ride to downtown Leavenworth worth the small jaunt!
Our group had dinner at the Kingfisher Restaurant on New Years Eve. Dinner was served buffet style. We had to wait in line to get crab which was brought out infrequently. Instead of waiting, I decided to check out the soup and salad bar. The soup was cioppino. The flavor was good but there was no seafood in it, only vegetables. There were only a few leaves of spinach and lettuce at the salad bar. The Prime Rib was tender but had no flavor. Desserts were pretty good, but again, not supplied well. Had to scrape a spoonful of caramel sauce off the bottom of the pot for the apple strudel. When we received our bill, it was all on one tab for three couples. We had them split tab three ways. Later, I checked my bank account and found that I had been charged double. Lovely location. Was really expecting a special evening. Still had a great visit with friends but was very disappointed in the restaurant experience.
Breathtaking views, great service, dog friendly, trails.
Looks like a great place to stay, havent stayed myself though, only walked around the property. Right on the river with a good looking restaurant. Very close to Leavenworth.
Food is to sinful and going to lead me to gain weight. Property is scenic and beautiful. Guest services is great. My kids love the pool.
Sleeping lady is amazing! It is so beautiful and peaceful. The Kingfisher restaurant has delicious food and the Gratto bar has wonderful drinks. The woman who checked me in was a little rude but the rest of the staff has been great. Ive stayed here several times and always look forward to coming back
Quiet, relaxing...staff was overly nice. We paid for the food option, and the food was excellent. Coffee in the morning was very blah though. For the price of the meal, I would have expected better coffee. When we return to Leavenworth, well return to Sleeping Lady.
This is glamping. A little rustic, a little cozy. Numerous cabins, cottages, lodges, and buildings connected by pathways in a forest setting. 5 minute drive to town.
Beautiful views, quite, nice rooms, good food.
So cute!! Love this resort. Its so calm and relaxing and the rooms are adorable. Good service and great food. I cant wait to come back!
Had a bumpy start, however the staff were very understanding and accommodating.
Resort in leavenworth. Slightly higher end prices. Has a restaurant, bar, fun rock pool, library, cafe, gift shop, spa, wedding venue, river is right next to property. Quiet cabins. About 10 minutes from downtown Leavenworth.
Idyllic setting. I didnt stay here, but I walked throughout the property and its gorgeous. The restaurant by the entrance was great - they served me breakfast in the afternoon when I asked politely and I ate it by the fire then hung out to read.
Brautiful surroundings and cozy cabins. Food at the Kingfisher restaraunt was amazing!
Beautiful place and just absolutely perfect, cabin was neat and cozy and pool area was gorgeous especially at night, close to town but still far enough away that there was no traffic noises.
Everything was great during our stay. The rooms were clean and cozy, the staff was superb, the grounds were beautiful, and overall the food was good with a few exceptions, which I suppose is not uncommon in buffets where the food sits out for a period of time. Spa staff was exceptional as well! We had a great time overall.
Great location for a retreat. Good food and lovely facilities
The rooms are amazing and the food is to die for. Visit the Grotto and the day spa for sure!
A bit pricey for what it is. The food lacks diversity and the coffee in our room tasted like sweat. Pleasee... pleaseeee invest in tastier coffee. Maybe it was the cheap coffee maker in our room? Also, please make coffee more readily available in your Kingfisher Restaurant. I was disappointed to find that I couldnt get an espresso with my breakfast.
Wonderfully serene. Great walking paths, library, grotto bar fire pit. Delicious breakfast and dinner buffets. Very comfortable accommodations. Enjoyed talking with other guests from many places. Want to return.
Sweet spot combining nature and luxury.
Sleeping Lady is nice, beautiful accommodations, great food. But it just isnt the same Sleeping Lady as I remembered. It use to be the place that my daughter and I would come to get in the spirit of the holidays. We would have garage sales, bake cookies and cut back during the year so we could spend 3 days at Sleeping Lady. They use to have a Christmas Carol play in the theater. The staff was always upbeat, smiling and loving where they were at. Bring the play back during the weekends of the Leavenworth lighting. Any Christmas play.
This is an amazing, out of the way wonderland. Everything here is top quality yet in a woodsy setting. The bartenders at The Grotto are two of the best I have ever encountered. The service at their excellent buffet style restaurant is as good as you can find anywhere. Shout out to Jennifer.... And did I mention the spa? A surreal, transcendental experience. One caveat though. No smoking inside or out. It will appeal to some, but for others it might be a deal breaker.....
This place is great!!! I just ate here for lunch, great food, friendly staff, kid friendly. Cool gift shop and big outdoor seating area when its warmer outside. Located a couple of miles from downtown, they also have wine to go!
Always cozy and relaxing in a beautiful natural setting. Lovely weekend!
Amazing stay.
This is my first stay at the Sleeping Lady. Fabulous place; quiet, away from the crowds in Leavenworth village. The staff is exceptional and accommodating. All you need to do is ask. The rooms are wonderful and the grounds are great to stroll around. The views are beautiful with the sleeping lady mountain in the background. I plan to return many times.
Such a peaceful, quiet, restorative place. Absolutely love everything about it.
I went here with my family for a Christmas Eve dinner while on vacation. The food was pretty good, but I really loved the atmosphere and art installations.
Just amazing, stay here wow
Great place to stay.. pricey and most rooms dont even have a fridge.. watch out for coyotes in the area in the evening and deer eating grass right next to cabins. Pool and hot tub is a big plus
Walked around the beautiful grounds and had a very nice lunch.
The Sleeping Lady Resort is so wonderful. We had the rookery cabin which offered us the perfect bachelorette getaway weekend. The grounds maintenance you feel like you are in the woods and the rock pool feels like it could be part of an Alpine stream. Food is top notch and allowed us to avoid the crowded Leavenworth restaurants. We loved the staff and they were always ready to help!
Stayed in a small room with a loft, perfect for our family of four. The dinner and breakfast were terrific, with plenty of vegetarian choices. The kids loved the pool and spa, with the rock ledge and waterfall. We enjoyed the herb and vegetable garden - many flowers at this time of the year.
On a Monday evening in late April, I apparently had this stunning resort to myself. Nevertheless, the Kingfisher Restaurant, as part of the package, served roasted rack of lamb on par with any kitchen in the world.
This used to be my go-to place out of Seattle for several years. Nice cabins and the food at the restaurant is great. However, in the past years, the place feels outdated and not well kept. Old bed sheets, dirty floors, squeaky beds, found hair on the pillows. The place could really use an update all around for the price they’re charging.
Hands down the best little mini cabin style resorts in the immediate Leavenworth area! The Grotto Bar and the Game room were perfect to accommodate our large group!
Attended a friends wedding at the resort and stayed there as well. Excellent facilities in a wonderful location a mile or so outside the center of Leavenworth. Highly recommended
Sleeping lady provided a wonderful experience, even for one night. The area around and in sleeping lady is beautiful, with many breathtaking hikes nearby. The rooms were very comfortable, and the staff were helpful and kind. Overall a wonderful experience.
A great place to stay, especially in the winter. They have great rooms, wonderful facilities, and the local Kingfisher Restaurant is one of the best restaurants I have ever been in my entire life. Sleeping Lady is one of the best, possibly even the best resorts I have ever stayed at. I highly recommend anyone to come here.
Unique and rustic where cabins are spread out. Sleeping nook was a highlight for our daughter. She also had a lot of fun in the Play Barn with a stage, puppets. It also has entertainment for adults like billiards, foosball, ping pong.
Always wonderful. Beautiful location. Top notch customer service. Sleeping Lady provides the experience you love.
Great place food fun and entertainment. I highly recommend this place with family and friends. But bring your wallet and make sure you make enough money to enjoy this great establishment.P.S.Not kindling at all so bring lots of money
I stayed in a loft cabin at Sleeping Lady for a wedding. Our room was spacious and comfortable for four. The grounds were clean and we absolutely loved the built-in rock hot tub. The resort catered the dinner, which was delicious, and the breakfast buffet was the best Ive had at any hotel - lots of interesting fresh housemade items, organic and alternative milks, and local sourcing of the produce! Would love to return again with more time to explore the area.
This place is romantic and magical its a wonderful place for a couples getaway for the weekend with hot tubbing outside in the woods to fireplaces and libraries and their own restaurants. Its a little getaway up in the mountains where you can be a secluded as you want or get pampered as much as you want. I would totally go back there.
Nice place for food
Great place but make sure you either wear shoes or something with traction in the rooms. Both my wife and my son slipped and fell on the floors. When my son (5 years old) slipped he smacked his head, tailbone and elbow. It was pretty bad. The floors are crazy slippery and dangerous.
Beautiful!
A little dated now but still nice.
Great ambience
We come for the grotto bar. Hand made craft cocktails are exceptional and served up with great personal touches. A bit expensive, but worth it.
