The museum was great! My daughter had a lot of fun riding the carousel. All the horses and animals are beautifully painted.
Lots of interesting memorabilia. Definitely worth the $1.50 to ride the carousel. I appreciated the hand sanitizing before the ride and the person cleaning each horse/area after each rider.
So so amazing!!! My grandma painted a lot of the horses here as well as other artists and their work is beautiful! Lovely gift shop and amazing ride and time!!!! Lobe it so much!
My friend and I enjoyed our visit very much. The museum is quite interesting. There are several old carousel horses on display as well as an extremely old carousel. The working carousel is beautiful. I had a great time riding it. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful museum while in Leavenworth.
Excellent experience!! $5 for 4 rides on the carousel with my granddaughter. So worth going. Museum was excellent also!!
We really enjoyed it very much. The kids had a blast.
Its Saturday and we were getting ready to take our 3 year old granddaughter... only to discover it was closed. Only open on Sunday and Monday? Very strange schedule, and people should know before driving an hour to get there on the most logical day of the week to visit.
Had my daughters 1st birthday party here and it was a hit! Very affordable for the experience you get! Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! They made sure everyone was comfortable, safe, and having a great time! Cannot say enough great things about this place, especially the people who work there!
A true gem in Leavenworth! The Carousel Museum is of both historical and entertainment value. This is a great place to play and to host a birthday party or other special occasion. The staff is passionate about what they do and love to see the joy their beloved carousel brings to others.
I love this place! If you find yourself in Levenworth Kansas, the Carousel is a must The history of the carousels is really remarkable, and the lovely staff is so happy to share their wealth of knowledge with visitors. The absolute best part is the ride (of course). This one is rare it is what is they call a menagerie, because it has rabbits most carousels would only have horses. They have some really unique stuff in the gift shop (nice for gifts to bring home) I found something for each of my 4 kiddos Fun for adults and kids!
The museum is good. Its educational and has a great carousel you can ride that spins pretty fast compared to modern ones.
This is such a cute little museum! I stopped in with my kids one day. They enjoyed looking around the gift shop. The carousel ride was a blast! It goes twice as fast as a typical carousel, with cute music playing the entire time. Everyone there was very sweet and informative and the bathrooms were spotless. We will definitely be back for another ride!
This museum tries to capitalize on historic carousel nostalgia, and local history, but is poorly executed. The facilities feel like a older ymca, minimally staffed, and lacking modern interaction amenities. The original history of the Carousel maker and its local ties deserve a better venue.
Awesome place all around. Nice people, reasonable prices, and some really neat items.
Fascinating museum that gives history into carousel making and C.W. Parker, who spent most of his life in Leavenworth. Admission comes with a free ride on the lovingly restored carousel. A must-see if one is visiting Leavenworth!
Their annual Christmas Small Mall for children has become a tradition for our family! My boys love getting to pick out presents for everyone.
The sound of a carousel brings Joy to me! Feeling like the inner child whom lives deep in my heart. Cant wait to go back to take a tour, visit the gift shop and definitely ride the carousel!
So much fun. We rarely miss any of their events throughout the year. Museum is very interesting, too.
Ive been going for years and have fun with everone I go with .they that plenty of great places.
Carousel rides for kids (of all ages), interesting history, and unique gift shop. Its a nice stop on the downtown tour.
My grandson loves to ride the carousel every payday. The staff are friendly.
A definite must see while in Leavenworth. All original wooden carousel horses, beautifully maintained and a fabulous reminder of when times were simpler
Friendly staff. The carousel ride is fast and fun. The staff had ear protection for the kids who thought the music was loud.
We took our family from out of town here. We really enjoyed the carousel rides. I was told by many friends that it was a really fast carousel, so I was quite disappointed at how slow it was! Our family has apparently been on much faster carousels. Still a cute stop and very affordable. The staff are so friendly and helpful!
My husband and I took our grandchildren and we all had a fabulous time. Please dont hesitate to ride the carousel yourself. I cant remember having so much fun! In fact... we are going back tomorrow! Great volunteers too!
It was a pleasant time at the carousel today with free pictures with Santa.
Love this place! I take my grown kids there, just so I can ride the carousel. Itll make you smile.
Staff was so nice and helpful. Had an amazing time! Carousel rides were super cheap. And a little heads up; it goes really fast, so hold on tight! Lol
A wonderful time! I take my daughter there for play dates or just to have fun together. We love to go walk through the river park across the street when we done ridding the carousel. Its a wonderful sample of historic Leavenworth!
Such a fun experience! The carousel was a bit too fast for my 5 yo, but great all the same. Staff was kind and helpful.
Always a fun time for my boys! It goes pretty quick, so be aware of that. But even from pretty tiny, I took them on rides and held them or had them close and tight in a carrier with no problems. The whole place is kept up so nice too. We will definitely miss it when we have to leave the area.
The ride is faster then I thought but fun
Absolutely so much fun. Our elementary age gkids used the word awesome. What a great organization! I finally had to drag everyone out but we will be back
Favorite place to visit in Kansas. Love riding the 100 year old carousel.
I learned a lot about the carnival carousel. It is one of the fastest that runs. It was fun to ride. Great history there.
Small but lots to see and they have an amazing carousel. Also have event space
Wonderful old time music and Caroulsel ride.
Great carousal and Museum plus fun gift shop.
Great fun. A must visit when in Leavenworth.
Place is awesome The Rosie Riders of Kansas really loved it! I will personally be back with my grandkids!
Wonderful family place to learn a bit of amusement history and have some fun too. Children and adults alike will enjoy learning the origins of the carousel, and absolutely enjoy the ride. Riders can choose from horses, rabbits, a sleigh, or a spinning teacup; the latter is my favorite. A must see and do in Leavenworth, you wont be disappointed.
Great place to enjoy with kids or adults. Very interesting.
This place was absolutely amazing!! I have never had such an appreciation for carousels before now!! This is a must see... And ride!! Our kids had a great time and cant wait to go back!!
My family and I adore the C. W. Parker Carousel Museum and go back often. The people who volunteer there are wonderful and always kind. The price for tickets is great! They have recently introduced these value cards that you buy that make the rides even cheaper. That would be a great gift for a child or just to buy if you take you children there often. Our son had his 3rd birthday there and it was unforgettable! Worth every cent! We would love to do it again! If youve never taken the tour, I suggest you do. The history is so interesting and you get to see other carousels and horses, their work station where they fix up old carousel horses, and so much more up stairs! They often have wonderful events, sometimes free. There are family nights, I think on Fridays. You get a meal and rides for around six dollars. They let the kids bust our a pinatã at the end.
Families with children and senior citizens will love this attraction! The carousel moves fast. There are two others, and there is a video you must watch. Also check out some of the cool things upstairs - carnival art from years past. There is a set of woodcarvers that sometimes work on projects in the back room.
Wonderful place to visit, our grandchildren really enjoyed the carousel!
I take my granddaughter there every week, the people are very nice.
Great place for kids of all ages including adult kids...
Hours are wierd. Should be open during spring break and offer special deals for kids out of school with the parents home with them
Fresh air. Safe to walk. Friendly people.
Twenty ride punch ticket for $20.00, kids had a great time riding the carousel on a cool spring day. Yes they used up their card.
The carousel ride is a must. Overall, small and interesting museum. Very helpful staff
This is a gem that doesnt get the attention it deserves. My daughter (toddler) loved riding on the old carousel and my wife and I found the museum very interesting. We will definitely return!
Loved it! Take the guided tour, the director knows so much local history and carousel history. Very personable, we had a great time.
Beautiful museum with amazingly recreation of an old carousel.
Great spot to visit on a weekend afternoon! You can always hear the melody of the carousel playing as you walk or drive by. There are two carousels available to ride and one extremely old one on loan to the museum. Taking the tour is definitely worth the 20 minutes, so much history in that building and the carousel horses are amazing. Visit the restoration shop, see old and new carousel animals and learn about the history of C.W. Parker!
This is a lovely Museum housing a 150 year old carousel that provides a rides for children and adults. The volunteers are welcoming and friendly. The carousel has two sizes of horses. The large horses do ride high and smaller children (ages 3-6 years) would be best suited to the smaller horses (unless you have a daredevil). For children who are sensitive to noises the carousel does play music which maybe a little too loud. While children enjoy the ride, the older carousel is more interesting to the adults. The cost of a ride is very reasonable and something you can do on a rainy day.
Great place for a family visit.
The restoration work and information in the museum is fascinating, and the working carousel that you can ride is beautiful, has a gorgeous band organ, and is one of the fastest carousels in existence! It was a lot of fun to ride. Definitely worth the admission price. I would go again.
Fun little museum.
Its fun for little kids but not for older kids
Nice bathrooms, but a little more little girl princess party than we were expecting.
Great historic location to learn a little more about Leavenworth. Has the oldest carousel ever on display. Great for kids to see and experience.
It was awesome kids loved it
My kids loved it!
We visited here during their small mall event, which the kids really enjoyed. It gave them an opportunity to buy Xmas gifts (adults pre-pay for the gifts) for family and friends along with the help of an elf. They also had a chance to ride a beautifully kept old carousel, and they loved that. Santa of course was also there, and he did a nice job. My only criticism would be that Santa sat in the hallway and didnt have a picturesque background, so the pictures with Santa didnt look very nice.
Great place nice carousels
Grandkids love this place.
A fun carousel museum with a 150 year old carousel you can look at and a 100 year carousel you can ride.
I love to go horseback riding on the carousel. Lol. Brings back fond memories
Great place to see an art form that my grandson had no knowledge of.
Very neat. The people were so friendly and helpful and explained many things about carousels.
Great merry go round.
My daughter loved riding the carousel!
If you like merry-go-rounds you need to go there.
Love museums. Great place to visit and learn about the carousel
Kids always love the carousel and the people who run it are very kind
Its mildly interesting, and certainly a unique slice of local history. After one short visit and tour the only reason to return is the working carousel, which my young children found a bit scary due to its speed.
Great for families. Multiple carousels, and interesting memorabilia.
Great place to visit for a ride on a C W Parker 1913 Carry-Us-All Carousel. Visit the Museum and dont forget to browse in the gift shop!
Great place to host a birthday party for toddler. We had a most memorable time. That is C.W. Parker Carousel Museum
Wonderful, felt like a kid again when riding the restored Parker Carousel
So whimsical! It was very interesting to learn about the history of carousels and the carousel ride was so fun!
Such a great treasure for Leavenworth. Definitely worth the trip, especially for the littles!
Great place. Love the history.
We had a lot of fun. Lots of history about the carrousel.
Good place to take your Grandchildren
Great place for a party. The staff is super helpful!
