Wonderful place to see true Florida history in person. Dogs are allowed on leash and it is a great place for kids. Unfortunately the historic buildings are currently closed due to covid, but it is still very nice to walk around and read the informational plaques. It is connected to the Florida Botanical Gardens, which is a very beautiful place to walk, sit on a bench and read a book, or take a stroll and read about Florida flora and fauna. 10 out of 10, will definitely be back again. Feel free to make a donation while youre there to help keep it beautiful!
I loved it and didnt even get to go into any of the places. This historic gem is definitely fun for everyone. My kids loved the old equipment and looking into the general store window! We will definitely come back for a full showing! BTW the gardens are just a bridge walk away!!!!!
All the buildings are closed because of COVID-19, a once great Pinellas County attraction turned to garbage out of fear mongering. Absolutely pathetic and heart breaking.
Love this place!! My parents used to take me back in the late 70s early 80s & we would eat the sugar cane they had growing there.. love the old houses with all the old memories of stuff in the cute little buildings. A nice walk around exploring
Beautiful place that is kid friendly, clean and following covid protocol. Spent 3 hrs just looking around and my family cant wait to return once the buildings are open again. No charge, bring your own food and water.
I am amazed this place is free and before I begin, thanks to the knowledgeable volunteers that pass on the wisdom and memories of times long ago and local history! There is so much to see when you come here the photos don’t do it justice. I am grateful for places like this in our community and I encourage you to stop by and check it out. There is plenty to see and learn and all ages can enjoy it.
Very cool spot if you are into history. Cool to learn about all the developments that occurred over the years. Free
Love this place. A lot of history in there. You can visit it for free but will be nice if you can give some donations. There is a free excursion in Wilmingtonhous on the territory. Recommend it!
This is one of the most engaging and extraordinary historic sites along the Florida gulf. The idea to move dozens of historic buildings to one location for preservation and education is extraordinary. Its a peaceful setting amongst the pines and its FREE! But please give a generous donation because you will definitely learn how hardscrabble, tough. And determined Floridas pioneers were. I love this place. Nothing like the crowded tourist attractions.
The buildings are currently closed but its well maintained and a good experience
Great piece of history. Leave the today and meander through a village dating back to the 1800s amongst the Slash Pine Forrest. Enjoy and hydrate.
A leisurely stroll through the history of the area. Spoke with a very knowledgeable person in the boat house. He shared lots of interesting info on the small sail boat originally manufactured in this area. All the ladies working in the wool spinning and knitting area were enjoyable to visit with. Our tour guide through the old house was very knowledgeable, and kept everyone engaged in his presentation. Overall, a very enjoyable activity.
Great place to visit for all ages. Nice to walk around and see the homes.
I loved it there!! It was rich with history and made me want to learn more about each home and the antiques everywhere!! I will definitely return!
It was closed today but we managed to walk around about an hour. Very educational.
I cant believe the effort they have put into moving house to this site to preserve the historical nature of the area. Its staffed by great volunteers and the houses are furnished with period furnishings and clothing. I really loved the old garage with the Model Ts that still run. Its kind of weird that you can walk through most of them with no one there.
I visited the Heritage Village for the first time about 12 years ago. Since then there has been a huge update! Signs, houses, schools, barns, as well as very interesting exhibits at the welcome center. It is nice to see how much it developed. I love the info signs about the past and present of these buildings. It is definitely one of my favorite places in this area. And its free!
I love to come to this place and just walk around and look at all the old-fashioned homes.. I like to see how the people used to live a long time ago..
There is just so much to see and talk about. First, the park is totally FREE and you dont pay for parking and there is plenty of parking available. You can donate if you want, but no one asks or requests any donations. The park is a wonderful educational attraction. We took a 30 minute tour with a tour guide of the Victorian House (dont know the name) and WOW...is all I can say!!! I love history. If you are passionate about history then dont miss going to the Heritage Village. And if you have time, the Botanical Garden is literally next door walking distance. There are picnic tables dispersed throughout the whole park and Botanical Garden. You can have a cooler with food and drinks there. I dont think barbecue is allowed. Take your family and friends and enjoy the rich history of Florida!!!
Perfect hidden gem of Pinellas County. Absolutely free. Sign up for the free guided tour to see inside some houses that are not self guided. Kid friendly.
Cant believe this place is free to visit. Such a piece of history! We really enjoyed our visit here. Recommend!
A lot to see. Nice tours. Very well maintained. Educational.
Ooh my gosh!! This is a must see, so beautiful. The tour guides were awesome and so friendly..
This place is really cool and full of history. We did a guided tour of one of the big houses and the tour guide was fantastic. The house was incredible as well. I would definitely recommend coming here if you’ve never been, it’s free and something to do on a Saturday.
The kids loved it! Nice to be reminded of simpler times! Very educational and the people were so friendly! FREE is a great way to spend a fun family day!
Such a beautiful place to visit. Free. Family friendly. Nice to walk around. The houses are lovely. Just a nice place to get lost in time for a few hours.
My family and I love walking around heritage village. It is very interesting and a lot of fun to enter and explore some of the old buildings. The old houses, train depot, and other buildings are maintained very well and are in great condition. As an added bonus the Florida Botanical Gardens are right next door and you can walk directly from Heritage Village to the gardens and explore them as well.
Absolutely adorable place. There’s plenty of structures from 1880-1920 to see a piece of history. My absolute favorite part was meeting Eugene who has volunteered over 700 hours and whittles wood for display. He makes gorgeous pieces and is such a pleasure. I’m glad we took the time to go!
Heritage Village is truly an example of old Florida. Looking at the architecture both in and out of these authentic early buildings give you a taste of what life was like back then. The folks that run this place are both kind and helpful. They are always having festivals or jubilees, events that appeal to both adults and children. Take your kids and go back in time some weekend, you wont regret it.
Beautiful but it needs to open back up
This is the cutest place!!! Everyone there is beyond friendly and knowledgeable about each building and how it tied into local history. I can’t believe it’s free. Truly. It would be so awesome to see this place turn into something like a Greenfield Village in Detroit. Heritage village is a lovely place to relax and putz around for an afternoon.
Its an amazing place to see how we use to live to now!
What a wonderful place. So much local historical locations. Makes me proud of Pinellas county.
This is a wonderful attraction to visit. It was very interesting place to visit. I look forward to coming here again. Its a wonderful historical village.
I love and like it So much
Always enjoy the walk and sights.
I brought my daughter and her friend here while we were in Tampa for a concert and we just wanted something to do the next day. Its a definite recommendation from all of us. We really had a blast. Went on a tour of one of the Victorian homes, wandered around and looked at all the houses dating back to the beginning of the 1900s. They have done a great job creating the feeling of being back in time in the little village they have created.
Great place to go with kids, a lot of shade.
What a gem. So educative and entertaining for adults and kids!
This is a great place to take younger children. Its fun and educational. There are times when its completely empty of employees, so they to find out when theyre having events where you get to speak with knowledgeable people dressed in period clothing. Its like a walk through the early times of when largo was settled. Overall, I would definitely reccomend it for old and young alike.
What a nice walk through turn of the 20th century history. Great place to spend a couple of hours.
This place is awesome! They have many restored buildings and memorabilia culled from places within Pinellas County (FL). They do a very good job of maintaining everything. Its all in a setting that is rustic and very easy to imagine that you are back in the day. Most of it is from around the turn of the 20th century. And its free! Get there early, though.
This place is awesome. Its like an outdoor life-sized history book with things to and see scattered about. Its nice that the county has spared some key buildings of its past from the development that has taken over. There are people here that love just telling you about the area history. Simply a delightful place to visit at any age.
Love going there. I donated a old school book to the school there a McGuffeys Eclectic Reader and a pencil drawing by Charlie a friend of mine did from one of the pictures in the book!. Expert when I had gone there I did not have a phone at the time Im a little old-fashioned only had a flip phone now that I have a phone I am posting the pictures from my albums and theres the picture of my McGuffey primer
Great place with lots of helpful people. A great place to visit.
I love going to see old houses from the 1800s. They have 6 here.
Historic center. The houses history is interesting. Great place to take pictures. Wear comfortable shoes. Family friendly.
With a botanical garden next door, and a real life village set up from yesteryear, this place is a history and nature lover’s dream. You can really lose yourself in the history of the place and feel transported back in time. I loved bringing my son here and will be back with the rest of my family. It is a true historical gem.
Fun, takes you back in time. I wanted to remove my shoes and run around like I did as a young native Floridian. Brought back so many wonderful memories of my childhood.
Such a fun place to visit! Had our one year olds bday party here; great learning experience! Hands on for the kids
I enjoy seeing all the history and take you the tours. They have a good arts and crafts fairs with local businesses and artists and music specials.
Ive come here since I was little. It is a great way to connect to history, specially Florida history. I love all of the volunteers, they are so helpful! The festivals are also a great way to spend a Saturday!
Nice place to bring kids and learn about the past.
Just drove an hour to come here and everything is closed by they are “open”
Excellent place for some of the history of Pinellas County.
Cool things to see and its free!!
Great place for the history enthusiast.
So much fun & educational. During fest also provided free beginners ukulele classes.
This is a very well put together museum, thatll definitely fill a good chunk of your day. A lot of actual historic houses to tour though self guided as well as guided. Very friendly staff and very clean grounds. Great for kids and families. Highly recommend
I absolutely love this place! Great for the whole family. Interactive things for the kids too.
I love this place. I trip back in time. Even the kids enjoy it!
FREE FREE FREE FREEEnjoyed the Barber Shoppe, country store and service garage via 1925 displays BUT mostly the authentic, informative and pleasant volunteer dosant answering every question and allowing visitors to experience what Life once was...The other historic buildings are worth your time and experience a time warp education in 3 hours..
Very interesting. Volunteers very knowledgeable. Really enjoyed our day
Heritage Village is an absolute treat. I come from the world of tourist traps and theme parks and can tell you that this place would be a steal even IF they charged admission - which they dont. Calm, tranquil and informative, the exhibit beats any normal reenactment for authenticity, because the buildings are all real! Incredible. Add in some very enthusiastic and dedicated docents and youve got a recipe for pure delight. Dont forget to visit the attached botanical gardens which are also free!
Nice park. Lots of history. Interesting people giving tours
Great place to walk, take photos or just sit and enjoy the scenery, homes and peace and quiet. Take a tour of the gables home, it is wonderful! Visit the gift shop and the general store. Love this place!!!
This is a wonderful, quaint historical village / park located in Pinellas County. Heritage is set in a wooded setting with a great historical ambiance. Employees dress in period garb and are always willing to inform and educate.
The replanted homes were very nice. The admission is free and grounds were peaceful.
Lots to see here for historical houses. Nice short walk path around and inside most places here. A couple times 3 were closed and still not opened when we came back 2 weeks later.
The history here feels like youre transported back!
Very interesting and educational! Great for families or just something to do thats free.
Great historical place. Its a must see.
This place was free and fun for all ages to explore. You can essentially get whatever you want from the experience. I you like history, nature, architecture, trails, just running around exploring, etc; theres something for everyone. Theres no food on site so pack a lunch or snacks. You could easily spend 2-3 hrs there. The parking lot is close to the grounds so you could leave a cooler in the car and easily go grab it when ready to eat. There are picnic tables. I recommend baby wearing so you can easily move through the grounds with kids that cant walk. Stop at Jupiter donuts on your east home. Its a donut shop about 6 mins away!
Great place to take the kids to learn about the Florida life of days gone by. Its a cheap afternoon and a good chance to provide a fun learning experience.
Peaceful place for a nice tranquil walk. Entertaining for those who enjoy history or historical architecture. At a leisurely speed, you can get through the whole thing in less than an hour. Florida Botanical Gardens right next door if you want to do both in one morning/afternoon. Cute little gift shop, I purchased some vintage Florida postcards that I can use for crafting for $1 each
Fun to explore and extremely educational. We especially enjoyed the gentleman in the general goods store, he was informative and funny! We will definitely return.
Free entertainment for the day, for the whole family. Get a feel for REAL Florida at the turn of the 19th century.
Pretty cool place of history
I came here to do a photo shoot. Super gorgeous scenery. Everything is so cool to look at!
Today was a great day to be there hardly anyone there just nice to walk around among the houses and be nature nice weather.
Spent all day there! Very interesting place! Learned so much about the history of the area!
Loved it. Take the tour if seven gables. Its fantastic.
Nice place. Buildings are great, but dont visit on weekdays. Not every building is opened.
Amazing old fashioned local buildings! Congratulations this brilliant project!
Ive been going for 32yrs absolutely love Heritage Village... if you want too experience old Florida... this is it.. if you love history then you will absolutely love this place
Great place to wander around and learn about life back in the 1800s and 1900s. So many old buildings! Awesome if you like history and seeing firsthand how people lived long ago, good for kids to be able to see and learn. Best of all its free for everyone! Highly recommend.
Would have gotten 5 stars if we could have toured the 7 gables house. But, its a wonderful place! Great to take kids also.
I went to Heritage Village this afternoon was just trying to see what it was like didnt have a lot of time. But went through a few buildings a general store it was great for what I seen tomorrow I will take my grandchildren it go through the whole park thanks to Pinellas County Florida they did a great job setting this location up enjoyed
Great experience!it is outside so kids can run between the houses to visit and we learn a lot about the first arrivants in Florida!
Very interesting..They should advertise because we moved here in September and learned out ot when we went for our FL drivers license. He told us NOT MANY people know about the place.
Walkable, interesting history on Clearwater area, friendly and very knowledgeable volunteer staff. We only wish that the House of the Seven Gables tour was more in-depth.
A walk through history is always pleasant and this well kept and maintained park fits the bill.
Shady park with lots of space and things to see.
I get out there by once a year and thats was a great time to go because it was a nice breezy day my daughter and I had a wonderful time took lots of pictures.
Loved it when i was a kid and now my kids love it!
