Calling to inquire prices and availability, I was so impressed with Cortney .Excellent customer service hands down. Such a joy not to be put on hold answered all my questions with knowledge. So excited for my stay. Albany Lodge has quite a selection for lodging. A restaurant serving morning breakfast, staying open all day, I can even get a night cap! Thanks again Cortney. See you soon!
Lunch and some cold beverages after a terrific trail ride. Highly recommend the grilled mahi fish tacos. So good! Service was a bit slow but was our servers first day and she was very helpful throughout.
First visit since the Mullen fire. Food was delicious and fresh. Service was friendly and fast. So glad/thankful they made it thru the fire
For us, Albany Lodge was a place to get lunch and gas, the midpoint of a day that began and ended in Ryan Park. The Lumberjack burrito I had was awesome except for one important aspect: the tortilla was really tough (dried out). My kids got sandwiches that were fine but unremarkable. Our waitress was nice, and did a nice job. It was good to be able to thaw out before continuing our ride.
I stayed here this summer for a few nights. The cabin was disgusting. Literally they had an interior door used as an exterior door in the back. Visible hole in floor by the back door. Anytime we returned there was mouse poop all over the floor. With the price charged, I would at least expect the place not to be infested with mice. I hope the newer cabins are better. But the one I stayed in should not be rented to people.
Convenient access to the trails on ORV. I just wished our room would have had a screen on the window since there is no AC and plenty of mosquitoes. Only sit outside at the restaurant if you have bug spray. Tiki torch would have been a nice touch. Food was great! Good pancakes, chicken fried steak, prime rib and good service.
Very friendly and made sure we knew how to navigate the UTV before we headed out. The GPS map app was essential. Had a blast.
Very out of the way but it has everything you could want to glamp and it has a great restaurant. Our server was amazing and had only been there three months. Great job!
We love going to the Albany Lodge! Everyone is treated like family and the owners go above and beyond to make everyone’s stay memorable. Cutest gift shop, delicious food, and a wide variety at the bar. Can’t wait to go back this winter!
Dont go here! They have the worst customer service and i urge anyone not to go here and definitely dont rent any snowmobiles or utvs. I took a group of 5 to rent sleds and after we got back from a pretty fun time they looked over our sled and said mine was totaled and charged me not only the 500 dollar deductible but also 4500 for two weeks of lost income. Ive read a lot of other similar reviews. Does this look totaled to you?
Our family of four had an amazing experience at Albany Lodge! Dinner, bar and service are all excellent. We rented two Razor UTV’s and had an absolute blast!! I admittedly flattened a tire on my UTV and staff were more than gracious. We were very impressed with the owner and all staff; we CANNOT recommend highly enough! Do yourself a favor and make a weekend out of it - go to Albany Lodge!!!
We went snowmobiling for a work trip. I was very excited cause I have never been snowmobiling before. This was one of the worst experiences that I have ever had regarding rentals. My group and I went riding on the trail about 20 miles out and we were a little over an hour into our day. I took the sled no more than 50 feet off the trail and it broke down. Since there was no way to contact the rental place, and there was only one person in the group that knew the directions back, we left the sled there and continued our journey. For my first snowmobiling trip I had to ride tandem most of the trip. When we got back into the rental shop, the staff was surprised that I did not bring it back and told me they would contact me the next day. When I received the call, they charged me for my sled $220 for the day (1.5hours) and charged me $500 for the vehicle breaking down. They were kind enough to not charge for the $400 retrieval fee, and allowed me to keep my kidneys. I guess it is too much to ask for a rental shop to ensure their snowmobiles work. I would only rent from here if you are an experienced mechanic, or if you are willing to take the risk of a potential $1000+ rental.BTW enjoy talking with the staff.
Dave was very informative without being pushy. Lots of services here. We were just checking it out. Friendly people. Beautiful area.
Rented rzrs for 2 days, good equipment and great staff
Food was OK, but took almost an hour to get it. We had 3 people at the table, and ordered 1 additional meal to go. Half of the to-go meal was missing, and we had to go back to get it (after I asked the waiter if it was all in the box). Steak ordered rare was well done, and never got a refill on my drink in over an hour. Our waiter went outside to retrieve the cook after we ordered since the cook decided it was time for a smoke break. Cook responded with they can wait.Stick to ordering booze, as the expensive food will leave you disappointed.
Great place!!! Many trails for any level. Excellent snow machines for rent. Super nice and helpful staff. Listen to them. GPS units can be rented for $35 for extra level of safety. There is a lodge and restaurant with good food and places to rent. 2 day minimum. Great experience. Have fun and BE SAFE !
Friendl service everytime and a great place to spend a weekend
So much fun on the four seat UTV. Half day was plenty. Bring a small cooler with snacks. Bring a hoodie. Maybe ear plugs for small kids.
I love it there. Food could be better and super pricy, but had a lot of fun
Great location adjacent to miles and miles of outdoor recreation. Food is great and staff is very accommodating.
Courteous staff, nicely spread out for social distancing.
Great place to rent ATVs and then have a cold beer!
We went up to have lunchWere greeted at the entry by a personable young fella. Who directed us to the restaurant. Waitress came out promptly. Got us something to drink... She was in no hurry..... From this we gathered that it is a cowboy friendly establishment.... Mostly though. Snow machiners... Skiers hikers etc... But a down home place. Seemed to take forever to get served .... But. Only if I am in a hurry. Conversations from local folk livened up the place.... Food was cooked perfectly. Prices are comparable ... Waitress was friendly and prompt... Would like to try breakfast .... Trip there was slow. But its winter. Snow. Ground blizzard. But it was worth it ....
My military friends and I went to rent snowmobiles. I noticed some small dings and scratches on the rental when I was getting ready to go. I pointed them out to the workers and they said not to worry about them. When we got back Albany Lodge charged me for the marks that were already there. I said they were before we went out and they fought me on it. Charged me 1500 dollars for this!! I’ve included pictures. No way does this equal even close to that and I didn’t do it.
Friendly service. Great place to visit
Amazing cabins, great restaurant not overcrowded. Perfect!
Great place to access the snowy range from the east. Park your sled right out the door of your room! Lodging was good, bar was great. Everyone we met was fun and helpful.
Theyre CROOKS! Rented 2 snowmobiles for the day, had kids on the back the entire time, stayed on the trails. They were basically driven moderate at best and a shock broke at some point. They made us pay $300 for part! Absolutely no fault of ours! Guaranteed it was from Lack of maintenance/service checks, the bike had 3000miles so they stick the customer with their maintenance bill for there well used equipment.
Heard this place was an absolute joke. My family recently stayed here and told me this was a place you should definitely stay away from. They have poor business practices and do not treat their customers well. My wife and I have a very strong background in customer service and know this establishment will not make it far treating paying customers in a poor way.
We rent snowmobiles here year after year, but this past experience was much smoother than years past. They are under new ownership and the process is much more streamlined - several iPad stations to get you through the contracts much quicker, online booking, etc. Staff was knowledgeable of the area/machines and want to make sure you have a good time. Had lunch at the restaurant which was also great. I brought several people up this trip (mostly in from east coast) and we all had a great time. Highly recommended!
Little high but really nice place
I’d have to say I was very unsatisfied with the trip. The staff is out for your money. Accidents happen I understand that but to be charged $5,000 for minor damages is absurd! I will post the pictures below and you can see for yourself. The place is nowhere close to being a resort. The so called “deposit” on the sleds for any damages that happen is completely made up you will still be over charged. The staff here only cares about how much they can take from you at the end of the day. I highly recommendDO NOT GO HERE!!!
Do not rent anything from this place unless you feel like buying the snowmobile or side by side. The owner David is a crook and will try and take advantage of you. They have insurance and even with that if you wreck a machine you will end up paying for it. Look at nicks review and other people who have rented from here. Its sad because the place could be a nice place to rent from. The area is beautiful. I will not recommend them to anyone and encourage people not to go here!
Second time to Albany and it was a great time! Our server in the mornings was entertaining and for the most part the food was out in good time. Pricing is very affordable and it makes it hard to choose what to eat. Lodging was clean and proceed right. We didnt rent sleds so I cant rate that. Thanks for the fun, Albany Lodge!
Love this lodge! Owners are awesome, Food is great, the snowmobiling is great! Have been here many times and will continue to return and stay in the cabins!
Place is a joke rental shop is horrible they find anything and everything wrong one friend got accused of scratching the plastics luckily he took a picture also in the morning and showed them they didn’t have much to say then. Definitely don’t recommend this place not worth the money.
Wonderful lodge in the mountains and burgers that are done just right with some killer chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert.Lots of families enjoying the stupendous weather. The owner and his wife and staff very friendly and eager to help.
Room was fair. Could be cleaned better. Hair and dust in the corners of the bathroom and behind the door. Beds weren’t very comfortable and the pillows were flat. Staff was friendly. The Mountain Mac n Cheese was dry, bland and not creamy. For the price, I would have expected more than rewarmed mac n cheese from the fridge. The prime rib sandwich was good, however we found a long dark hair underneath the sandwich. We didn’t expect a refund because we’d eaten most of the plate before it was noticed but an apology would have been nice. Our waiter merely looked at it, grimaced and walked away with the plate. The walls are thin, so if you don’t want to hear your neighbors every move and word, bring ear plugs or request a room away from others, if possible. The view is beautiful.
Good place with a good experience..we enjoyed our sled rental and the suite. Food anf bar service was also real good!
I was not sure what to expect as this was my first time ever riding out West. Everything was super easy to set up and worked out great. I however did not get to rent the Khaos Mountain sled because the guy renting it the day before Twisted the tunnel and beat the sled into submission. Either way it was fantastic still yet., The RMK Pro 155 is still an amazing off trail Sled. My guide (Ethan) was hands down the best part of the trip. He took the time to show me a Great Deal of riding techniques that made my 2 days of riding the best riding I have ever had.I am already looking forward to making another trip or 3 next year. I had zero issues with the rental process, I was actually really impressed how easy and hassle free they made it. I rode the sled as hard as Ive rode any of my own, I just made just not to be abusive to it.The gentleman handling the check in was super easy and helpful as my flight was coming in late I was not able to get to the Lodge till late. He stayed till I had gotten there to check in and was super helpful.I really cant say enough good about this place. The owner is a stand up guy and was very appreciate with the business as was the staff. Its nice to know when your business is appreciated. If you make the trip out to do some back country riding, this place is great! And if you go for the Guide, Ethan is the Man to Get!!! You wont find a better guy, thats willing to teach, help and do all he can to make you trip out to ride the mountains a fantastic life experience!!
Will not be going back ever! The bar and restaurant if you can call them that are a joke and the wait staff are horribly rude and unprofessional. You will get better food if you get a hot pocket from the grocery store. The riding is ok but the staff will find something wrong with your snow machine and you will pay dearly for it!
Never go wrong at the Albany Lodge
Food was good but slow. Really wanted nachos but they were out of salsa. Just wasn’t the same.
STAY AWAY!You will regret renting anything from this place, unless you want to be over charged or charged for a new sled that you didn’t total. But if you want to buy a used sled or utv rent from here! Read other reviews and do your homework on this place!
Great staff and great place overall. I highly recommend them!
They got one star because zero wasn’t and option. We arrived (11:49)with 8 in the party. There we’re two parties there as we arrived (3 in each party). Finally had some guy come out and take our orders at 12:25. We got our drinks ten minutes later and he took our orders. We wait and wait as we see others getting served that came in after us. The waiter then comes back as he’s playing with his hair and tells us that he forgot to ring our order in and forgot our ticket. This is the second time it’s happened. We thought maybe it was an off day, so we’d try it again but not the case. It is rare that I write a review but it was hands down the worst service, if you could call it that, that I have ever had in my life. It all starts with ownership and management. Pick it up!! It’s a great park and it’s not hard to be good at your job. FACT!
Breakfast super expensive. $72.00 for 5 people, not including tip, Wow. Food was super slow and cant substitute anything. Wait staff kinda had attitude. Asked for Bloody Mary, said state law prohibits alcohol before 10 am on Sunday? I looked it up: that law changed years ago. Probably wont go back anytime soon.
Decent place, clean.
Needs a bigger store with more options. Restaurant needs to be consistent with portion sizes on food. We love the fried pickles but I was annoyed to only get 4 spears when before (4 weeks earlier we got 8 spears in a basket) same pricing!
Great place friendly staff good food great snowmobiling
This place is one of the worst destinations for snowmobile rentals!!! The staff is veryunprofessional and their equipment is junk. Please keep in mind if anything breaks down its coming out of your pocket so with that said unless you have money to throw away avoid this place like the plague!!!
Secluded Beautiful scenery
Only stopped in for a snack but our experience was very sub par. We get it this is the off season but from a food, drink, price aspect we were extremely disappointed
Nice little place next to some great snowmobile trails.
Amazing place to stay and explore
The staff went out of their way to accommodate our group in short notice... Kudos to them and the food was delicious too!
Nice clean place. It is the only thing around in that area that has food and lodging. They also have a little convenience shop.
Great hotel and services. We came here for snowmobiling. The only downside is that it takes like 30 miles of trail riding through the forest to get to the mountain range and deep snow. Great scenery no doubt but the last day we ended up just driving to the green rock parking area on US 130. Which was only like 3 or 4 miles from the good snow. Would stay here again there is fuel and a good restaurant.
This is a well- kept secret. Their food is hot, fresh, homemade, and delicious! They werent at all busy when we were there in Friday, but I know that is not usually the case. I had the flatirons steak, and my husband had the pork tenderloin. Both were perfectly prepared and as tender as butter. The wait staff were friendly and responsive, and didnt give over us. Its a bit out of the way, unless youre in Wyoming and enjoy a short mountain drive.
Friendly staff and great beer selection.
Christmas buffet was awesome. Staff was great
My family and I have been parking in Albany to go up to our cabin in Keystone since the 80s. This last weekend, we stayed in one of the cabins. The new owners were amazingly accommodating and they have really taken Albany Lodge to a new level. Quite amazing to see it grow from Grovers. Thank you again for the batteries and birthday candles!!
It’s a shame this place has such poor customer service! Won’t recommend my friends to stay here.
These guys are pretty cool. My buddy from Vermont would tell you the same thing. If youre looking for some outdoor fun you should look these guys up.
Over all experience was excellent! 6 man Cabin was perfect for the 5 of us. Need to focus on wait staff at lodge and sled rental communications. Point of sale is lacking.
Horrible Owner/Customer service! Dont waste you time renting from Albany Lodge! I drove 6 hours from Nebraska after I CALLED and reserved a 2 seat RZR for an entire day only to find out it was cancelled. I gave them all my information including my birthday and they charged me $84 for a down payment 2 weeks in advance.I show up the day I had reserved and the lady behind the counter says my rental was canceled the day I booked it because Im not 25 due to insurance. (Im 22). I ask her why was I charged $84 and why didnt anyone tell me that on the phone call or send an email. Before she answered, the owner walked in and told me its my fault and I should have seen it on the website. I explained I didnt go to the website, I just called the number and talked to someone. He told me that I should have done my research before I drove out, then said its an $18,000 machine and youre not even 25. You couldnt afford to buy one anyway. Sorry, Id love to take your money and then walks out.The lady at the counter told me this happens a lot. They issued me a refund for the $84. I am still waiting for it after 3 weeks even after calling back and having them reissue the refund... Find a different rental or bring your own!
Great food and wonderful place to stay. New owners who take great pride in the Lodge.
Excellent food and service
Our stay was not a good experience ! The costumer service from the shop tecs were the worst ! Asking one of them for directions and he was very rude and disrespectful, very arrogant ! Then had a bolt come out of a brand new sled ask the same guys if they could help us and the reply was we cant help you especially with one of those . It was a brand new 2020 ski doo and they only have Polaris . He made it very clear that helping us in anyway was beneath him !!! We left a day early dont waste your money here ! If this employee was mine he would be terminated immediately!
Great place, amazing people, incredible food!
I’ve been wanting to take a trip to Wyoming for ever, randomly stayed here, horrible rooms and even worse food. Waited for ever for food rude staff and service, messed up our order and never did refill our drinks one time. Maybe they don’t like out of state people!
Do not rent here!!! Read reviews and do your research on this place and the new owner.
Food quality Friday September 13th was really sub-par, quite a disappointment because we were up there about a month earlier and it was fantastic. Hope it gets better.
What an awesome place to get away. Beautiful! Staff is amazing. Check it out!
This great little spot we stopped at on our way to camp. The prime rib I had was amazing!! My friends also enjoyed their meals as well. I will definitely stop in again if Im ever in the area.
The food was excellent
We stopped after a long day of hiking, food was good and service was great.
Our family of 7, rented snowmobiles for a guided back country tour. Our guide, Austin, did an awesome job teaching and developing our skills and leading us to appropriate new levels of challenge as we gained skill. We got up on top of the Snowy Range mountains for a panoramic lunch and then wirwor our way around the back of the peaks and back over the Gap to an enjoyable ride back to Albany. This was one of the top 10 days that our family spent together.
If there were a rating in the negative numbers, that’s the rating we would give. Sleds were not serviced properly. The rental staff were rude and unhelpful upon the first minute of arrival in the rental shop. They treated us as though it were quite the inconvenience to have to look up to help us. No eye contact and little smirks and grunts were the extent of their intelligence and ability to communicate. The rental manager, Greg, was completely incapable of completing or articulating an original thought or conversation. Greg’s inability to problem solve and descalate was comical to say the least. We have traveled all over the world and USA. This little insignificant shop in Albany, WY is one which we will never tire of warning family, friends, acquaintances and strangers of it’s substandard services on which to not waste their time, money or positive energy.
Service at the bar/ restaurant was sometimes slow... Other than that the people where friendly and the place has everything.. will definitely be back
Great place
Great people
Good food really nice place in the woods!
Very good food and service
We stayed at the Rose house and it was not great. The front porch is not attached to the house and has settled pulling it away from the house at the front door. One night of our stay it rained and was like running through a water fall to get in & out of the house. One of the twin beds leaned so bad that my cousin would roll into the wall. He ended up just sleeping on the couch. The hide-a-bed couch was broken and a note that said to not use because it is broken. The note was dated January 2011. You would think they would be able to fix or replace it sometime in the last 7 years. The good things are the location and the food in their restaurant and the staff was very friendly.
We had a hidden cabin, a creek right below us it was great.
Awesome customer service and great staff. The grounds keeper went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Great food too.
The customer service was so disappointing, I wouldn’t recommend this place to my family or friends.
This place was awful. Three of us order a mixed drink the others in our party beers. When our mixed drinks arrived 15 minutes after the others got their beers we didnt get what we ordered. They made the drinks with substitute liquids. They said we dont have the ingredients so we just used this??? They didnt tell you when you ordered the drink they didnt have the ingredients they just made what they wanted and hoped you didnt notice. I was not happy with this place. Drinks were pricey and you dont get what you order.
Great experience. Stayed in the new trapper cabin which was very nice. Rental shop guys very knowledgable about the sleds and the best places to ride. Restaurant and lodge staff were very friendly. Cozy home town feeling. Will be back.
Fabulous Mothers Day. Great food, very friendly and lots to do!
Great place to relax.
