A pleasant experience for viewing some local history. Plan on about two hours to fully explore. Lots of cars, some are true classics, some were real dud’s. Both types are fun to see. This shows mostly automotive, but there is a section showing some of the other Manufacturing that went on during World War II.It looks like they can host small events. In one of the pictures, you can see the start of a set up for an event.

Stopped here on our visit to Lansing. $15 for the family (four of us) for us to tour the museum. Mr R. E. Olds meets you as you walk in (well this statue does). Several models on display and the boys enjoyed walking about looking at the cars and at least a couple of trucks as well. We went on a Saturday late morning/early afternoon and there wasnt too many people here.

Lady at desk was not friendly asked to put items in bag. Said it would not fit. Merchandise was all messy on shelves .Did not know the prices of the merchandise. All the lady did was sit behind the desk and complained about the cash system went.If my husband wasnt faithful he could have gotten his merchandise cheaper because she did know the price. The museum was smaller than we thought but enjoyed what we did see. Being a olds man I loved what I saw.

I am ashamed to say (as a Born and Raised 67 year old Lansingite) that this was my 1st time ever visiting this museum. It is an Awesome collection of History from/of Lansing and the World- given it all started here. The cars on display are all familiar to me, as I grew up just blocks from final assembly and saw all of them as they came off the line, over the years.

I love these museums where there is a lot of local history and volunteers pouring their hearts and love into bringing some very important history and knowledge to the public. I knew some about the Reo cars and trucks and my grandparents had several Olds when I was a kid in the 50’s so seeing how R.E. Olds was such an entrepreneur and how he built several companies and technologies was truly interesting. Many cars on display, some on loan and some donated. Loved the info and the displays from early engines to cars, trucks and even lawnmowers. Well done!

Love this place shows people about the blue collar foot print that is and what made us Lansing Michigan as a community its too bad to see how we have ended up thus far back when the w30 the vista cruiser and the other models that olds had made here bye Lansing people have the people of Lansing a since of pride and since GM ended oldsmobile its seems that the people have lost the since of pride we all once had so its great that this place allows us to remember the good old days that was Lansing Michigan

Selfishly I was hoping to see more of the 60s era - But this is a nice little museum covering all 100 years of the company history. And $15 for a family of four was more than fair! Was maybe a 60-90min tour including talking to the curator for 10-15min - very nice fellow!

Review №52

The museum provided an interesting history of Lansing, viewed through the impact of R.E. Olds and Oldsmobile. There are many interesting items, including old steam engines and various iterations of the automobile engine. As one probably would expect, the cars are the centerpieces of the museum, and they do not disappoint. One downside is that, understandably, viewers are discouraged from walking between cars. This made it difficult to get close enough to read some of the wall displays.

I called the day before my sons 10th birthday because he loves classic cars and thought this would be fun to do. I unfortunately didnt have a back up plan. The girl assured me they would be open at 10. At 11:30 and several messages on their Facebook we left having wasted a portion of our day. They finally replied and gave me the old an employee had an emergency bit and tried to make me feel bad about it. We wont be going back. Saying there was an emergency is a classic used by all companies. I dont play that game.
