Staying here for a night (working in the area) - unfortunately the toilet has a hiss in the water tank, but luckily closing the door blocks most of the noise. The television remote turns on the TV, but the channels dont change. I could probably program the remote to work but not worth the time. Brought my own entertainment anyway. The mini fridge either isnt working or isnt plugged in, but not worth moving the station housing it to check. It also has a rancid smell inside it anyway, so no fridge. The AC works fine, and the room is relatively clean so thats nice. 1 star for AC/cleanliness. Another star for check in, staff was helpful and very nice. Temp check and offered options for nearby dining. Could just be my room, but with 3 issues, I cant give more than two stars.

First off, the hotel is doing a very good job of dealing with coronavirus. They check temperatures, require masks, and let rooms sit at least 24 hours before cleaning and allowing new guests. We had a nice time at the pool (socially-distanced), on the tennis courts, and at the lake (canoeing, kayaking and swimming). Our room was in Woodside, which had its own doors to the outside, and it was clean and obviously remodeled. The only concerns we had were: 1) the room was really damp the entire time, with the tile floor not drying at points; I am not sure the hotel can do anything about this or we just did not know how to set the air conditioner right; and 2) you are paying for the location and all the amenities ($286/night total for a nice, but basic hotel room); we were willing to do this because of their commitment to doing things right during the pandemic, but Im not sure it would have been worth it during normal times unless one planned on really using the amenities. There are several good restaurants a short drive away in Lakeville (with outdoor dining), including for breakfast, and just a bit further away in Millerton, NY. There are several places to hike the Appalachian Trail nearby (we did Lions Head, which was a nice hike that was not too long and moderately strenuous). Given the times, we did not do any indoor activities, so cannot speak to those. Breakfast was a cold takeout, which we appreciated, but we ate in town several times instead.

Thank you everyone at Interlaken for making our day happen! Susan, Victoria, Mary, Chef Daire, Dareen, Winston (and everyone whos name we cannot remember, sorry, there were so many individuals who helped us make our event magical!) The setting was picturesque, the atmosphere was elegant, and the food was SO GOOD! The bonfire at the lake and the swimming were exceptional. We look forward to continuing our relationship and recommending you to all our friends

We just got married at the Interlaken and it couldnt have been a better experience. The pandemic changed our original plans for a large wedding, and so we instead opted for a small, intimate ceremony at the Interlaken. The staff couldnt have been kinder or more helpful. The lake is absolutely stunning and serene, and the rooms, expansive porch on the Sunnyside building, and grounds provided just the kind of peacefulness and quiet we needed as well as plenty of space for us to gather with family. Thank you Interlaken for a most perfect stay!

Great place. Great people. Beautiful getaway. Where do I begin? I think it started with the initial phone call... when my lady and I were shopping around for a nice out of the way place to stay - with a lake - we came across the Interlaken Inn. From the very first phone call, the customer service was very friendly and top notch. We ended up booking the place for a long weekend, and we couldnt have been happier. The rooms were clean. The location was quiet. The pool was nice. Tennis courts, lakes, trails, and waterfalls... oh my! Farm fresh food, beautiful scenery, even the local townspeople were inviting. If we werent city folk at heart, wed probably move out there! What else can I say? Interlaken Inn was a great getaway in a scenic environment. Our sincerest thanks to Kevin Burskett, who went the extra step to ensure we had a wonderful stay.

My husband and I decided to stay here for our one year anniversary, when we checked in we were told where to find our room, we get to our room, open the door and someone was already staying there. We went back to reception and told the staff member, she apologized and after a long wait gave us a room in a different building. We get to our room and it’s smaller with two full beds instead of the king bed I reserved, at this point we’re running late for a dinner reservation so decided to let it be. When we return to our room there’s a large wedding party outside our window, we decided to try watching tv but the channels were scrambled. The wedding party raged on until 2am... we tried calling reception around midnight to complain but nothing was done about it. Overall it was a miserable stay.

My partner and I booked a stay for three nights with the Interlaken Inn on June 26, 2020, via Booking.com, selecting a non-prepay, fully cancelable at no cost, rate. The rate and booking terms and conditions called for $0.00 cost cancellation until September 2, 2020. He canceled on August 3, 2020. Instead of refunding all my money, as set forward in the terms and conditions (in the photos), the hotel sent me an email with a document (see attached) stating they were going to keep $25 as an administrative fee. This goes against the terms of the reservation (attached). Additionally, the hotel was also not allowed to pre-charge me for my reservation, per the terms, but they did so on June 26, the day we made the reservation, for $309.35. This charge allowed them to keep the $25 fee they arbitrarily charged (outside the terms), and they refunded only $284.35 on August 3.When we advised this hotel, via three email constants over one week without reimbursement, that I would take my complaint public to Trip Advisor and other online reviews sites, should they not refund my $25 by the next day at noon, the manager, Ryan Bousquet (the only person we have dealt with during all discussion per this refund) stated that we werecommitting blackmail by saying Id review the quality of my experience online. If you search review sites, this has been Ryans rebuffing tactic for years. The same story from multiples guests. And today, when we called Booking.com, the agency we booked the hotel through, to file a formal complaint, they told us that manager Bousquet had written them and told them that he could not process a credit as my credit card was declining THE CREDIT he was trying to apply. No emails from Mr. Bousquet, which we have four, detailed this alleged issue. A call to our credit card company, Chase, confirmed that they have seen no credit attempt and they stated that refunds are never declined.Additionally, it was only 11 days ago that the hotel successfully credited our card with all by the $25 fee in question. In other words, in our opinion, Mr. Bousquets comment appears, to us, to be a lying. Overall, this has been a ridiculous rebuffing of customers that have all their documents in order and is correct per the terms of the reservation. This fee is truly taking advantage of customers, and while most would not fight it and just let the hotel keep the $25, We will not do so, purely on principle. Yes, we did not spend the night, but all people looking to find a hotel in this area should be aware of their hidden charges and total lack of customer service. We never, ever would have stayed here, had We known that they do to people what they do to me. Potential customers deserve to be able to know this up front. Thanks for your time.

I was so excited to stay at the Interlaken because it is right by my daughter’s school and I’d heard it was really nice. What I found was a rather rundown tired-looking place. My room was in adjacent cottage and was large enough, though really musty. I was on the first floor and could hear every little creak and flush from other guests. The bathroom, while fairly updated, was tiny. Especially the shower. The bed was comfy enough, but the sheets were very scratchy. There was a nice fluffy comforter which I really enjoyed. My in-room coffee was never available. The little machine was left with the used coffee filter and empty wrappers all over the table. I did request more, but it didn’t happen. The front desk people were very friendly. I will stay again only if I get a really good deal on the room.

Ive been to the Interlaken for weddings, business outings, and for meals. All of which have been excellent and I couldnt have asked for a better time. The staff for the weddings would go above and beyond for anyone to make their time there as enjoyable as possible. As for business outings, the Interlaken will accommodate anything that you hope to accomplish with your group. Whether its a fun group activity or setting up your meals throughout the day, they make it easy for everyone. Any last minute changes that you might have and they will do their best to make sure it happens. The restaurant has excellent food which ranges from having great buffets to excellent individual meals. The omelet station will not be forgotten either. To top it all off, you get to spend your time in the picturesque Northwest Corner of Connecticut with mountains and lakes. Cant beat a stay here!

I have a complaint registered at Hotels.com. We spent only 4 hrs sleeping here, because we were rudely awakened at 2 am, despite a Do Not Disturb Sign on door. They claimed to be checking because they had a “late arrival.” We assumed there was a real emergency, like a fire, not poor record keeping and appalling judgment on their parts. So they gave me a key to room 111,, I gave them my Amex card, and they decide at 2 am I am not entitled to the room?! I am furious, as is my husband, about this treatment. Unprecedented in my decades of staying at hotels. I will not be paying this bill without protest.

My husband and I held a weekend of wedding festivities at Interlaken Inn in June 2019. Obviously venue is very important for any wedding, but maybe even moreso for a weekend of events. There was no better decision we made than to choose Interlaken Inn. The property is beautiful and offers a variety of spaces to enjoy both organized events and down time. But the “secret sauce” of Interlaken is clearly the staff. From the moment we walked in the lobby a year earlier to check it out to the moment we pulled out of the parking lot as a married couple, every single person seemed to be doing everything they could to make our wedding perfect. Victoria was the maestro orchestrating everything for us, but every person was so nice and responsive and professional. And when the weather added some challenges to the actual wedding day, they remained flexible and ultimately executed flawlessly like the backup plan was the primary plan all along. They coordinated all vendors seamlessly like they were also on staff. The food was fantastic, not just at the wedding reception, but at every event. This is a special place!

I went to this venue for a wedding. From the prices I see for weekends now compared to the “wedding price” I now see they jacked up the price over double. Having to pay that much for 2 days you tend to have high expectations. We checked into our room Friday and walked into a room with a dirty pair of boxer shorts in the dresser. I immediately went to the reception desk to ask for a CLEAN room which they changed our room. They gave us 2 free drinks for our trouble and laughed it off. Being in the wedding, I had to be available to get ready at 6am with the bridesmaids and brides. There was no type food offered or brought up to us. We were told we had to pay for breakfast because ‘it’s not free on the weekends’. We ended up having to have people go to a breakfast place to get us breakfast. The wedding was beautiful. The next morning we were going to check out and our safe was not opening with the code. My husband and I both tried the code (that we had been using all weekend successfully) multiple times and it kept giving me an error code. I went to the front desk to tell them and they told me no one had authorization to open the Safes but the owner and a few managers who were not there yet. I was then told the owner was on his way but was an hour away and to go buy breakfast in the mean time. I explained to them we wanted to leave and get breakfast somewhere else with the wedding party on the way home. They finally offered to comp the breakfast at the hotel which we accepted. After breakfast I asked about the status of the owner and was told he was still not there yet and does not own a cell phone to ask. We waited another half hour after we were told he’d be there by then. Finally came punched a code in which opened the safe (took all of 5 seconds) then told me I must have missed a number, it was my fault. Paying this much money comes with a HIGH expectation on hospitality which it did not deliver. The room was nice, bed was uncomfortable. All the food at the rehearsal dinner and wedding was either luke warm or cold. If I were to have another wedding there I would stay off site.

I highly recommend Interlaken Inn. This family owned and operated business is top notch. Everyone from the Inn Keeper Kevin, his wife Michelle in Sales, Nate at the Front Desk, and Kevins sons as well as the rest of the staff were spot on. They provided everything that we had requested for our reunion of 55 people over our two night stay. I had absolutely No issues; the meals were ready on time and presented nicely and was all delicious; they had our meeting space (the tent) and our social gatherings (the game room and at the Lake) all set up with everything we could possibly need. They provided hot chocolate and Smores and set up and distinguished our campfire. Its a beautiful location in Litchfield County and easy to get to from New Haven, CT. They have an outdoor pool, tennis courts and in the game room, a pool table and table tennis and a library. Facility has been newly and nicely renovated. Plenty of parking as well.

I stayed at the Interlaken Inn this past weekend for 2 nights while attending a wedding in the area. Service gets a 1 star vote from me. Awful. The only reason why Im giving it 3 stars is because the room was pretty and it was clean. And I like that there is a lake and activities. So, back to the service.Incident 1) We called early that day, asking if we can check in a little early. We were told that they could probably get us in our room by 2:30pm. So, we timed it out and drove up. We arrived at 2:33pm. The woman behind the front desk (who I assume was the manager), would not even hear us out. Check in is at 4pm. We tried to explain that we called earlier, but she was short and rude with us. We did some errands and got back at 3:30pm to check on the room. The same rude woman behind the desk didnt even check if the room was ready. She told us again, check in is at 4pm. I gave my number and they said they would call when the room was ready. So, I tired to find something to do in the area. At 4:44pm I FINALLY get a call that my room is ready. Thanks a lot.Incident 2) The vending machine ate our $5 bill and didnt work (the only food available after the restaurant closes, dont judge). We went to the front desk and no one was there. It said call for hotel service, we called and the phone rang behind the empty front desk forever. No help came. (A younger person behind the desk the next day was nice about it and gave us our money back)Incident 3) The wedding I was with apparently left us adorable gift bags at the hotel (wine, homemade cookies, snacks, wedding instructions, etc). They never gave them to us. I found out about it afterwards when the Bride asked if I liked the cookies she had made.Again, the room was nice. But the service from this middle aged woman was definitely sub par. I personally would not stay here again because of it.

Its a nice place to stay if youre in the area since there arent many options. We brought our dog and got a pet-friendly room in Woodside, but it wasnt that pet-friendly. You arent allowed to have your dog on the bed (and they could tell with white bedspreads) and you arent allowed to leave your pets alone in the room. If youre here for a vacation, thats probably impossible to do since you cannot take your dog to every store, restaurant, or attraction. They do have dog beds in the room, but these are more mats than anything. If youre traveling with pets, Id suggest a pet-friendly AirBNB instead. The restaurant was nice, but overpriced for location.

Way over priced hotel. The lodging is like a glorified motel with some facilities. In the main building there is no elevator and it’s inevitable that one needs to lug luggage up and down some stairs. The continental breakfast (complimentary) is very basic with cold items only. The coffee is not very good either. The condition of the room needs improvement. Again, it’s like a motel. The standard room is not very large, has a moldy odor and cheaper laminate wood flooring that sounds very hollow. There was water and age/use damage on the bathroom door while the toilet did not flush unless one holds down the flush lever and keeps it down for 5-10 seconds, while the toilet water tank cover did not fully cover the top. The room door did not close easily and could still be unlatched when you close the door- so be carefully to fully slam the door shut to ensure privacy and security. The fitness center is very very basic and has no free weights or dumbbells. There are a couple of machines, including one treadmill and one multi use weight machine, plus a few kettlebells, so difficult to get a full workout easily. No bell staff. Area is nice and a beautiful rural country area, but with few shops. It does have lake access and maybe that’s why they charge so much. I would possibly return to the area but would choose to stay elsewhere since this place is not worth the premium price.

I called back to inquire but by that time the only room left was a townhouse for 4 people and we were only 2 but we had no choice but to take it st $745.00 which is outrageous! The hotel is old and run down. The beds are okay but they could invest in new sheets and pillows. For this price I would expect cristal glasses in the bathrooms instead of plastic. A welcome bottle of water, extra toilet paper in the bathroom and in the kitchen a full roll of kitchen towels and not one with 2 sheets left.Breakfast buffet is quite limited. Juice is not freshly squeezed. Coffee is decent but when I asked for an expresso they looked at me like Ibwaa asking for something from Mars. It’s a pity because the staff is friendly.

I attended a wedding at the Interlaken Inn on a fall Sunday morning. I was only there for the ceremony, but the grounds were lovely. There was a significant lack of parking and the place was pretty crowded with other events.

The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Food in the restaurant was great. Bed wasnt the best and the rooms were average. Might be a better summer experience.

Spent last weekend attending the wedding of our lifelong friends sons wedding. We have traveled extensively throughout New England, but had never been to this part of Connecticut and were so looking forward to our visit. The area is beautiful and the local people very friendly. The Interlaken Inn was a tremendous disappointment. Rooms were expensive and service was non existant. Our room was never cleaned the entire weekend, water remained backed up in the bathtub/shower, air conditioner very noisy, Sunnyside in dire need of updating. No one to help with luggage( we were traveling with another couple, all of us in mid 60s) husbands struggled to carry luggage up flight of stairs to get to Sunnyside, then carry up another flight to get to room. When we requested room to be serviced, they just dropped off fresh towels!Must say that wedding setting was beautiful and food for wedding very good. We never mind paying top dollar for accommodations as long as service is commensurate and room is in good condition. Sent a text message reply to the Inn regarding all of the above, but received no response. All in all, very disappointing.

This place was phenomenal. I organized a retreat for 130 people. From the get go, the staff (Michelle, Teri, Vincent among many others) were there to help. From when we visited the site to scope things out to the actual retreat date (Sept 21-22, 2016) everything was smooth. They communicate with you effectively, work with you, adjust things to fit your liking, responsive to unique requests ... And much much more. For the actual retreat dates, everything was perfectly organised as we had asked for. Our group occupied about 98% of the venue but we hardly noticed. They did an express check in for us which saved us the time and the lines for check in. I would totally recommend this location for a get away. Its only 2 hrs from NYC and accessible by metro North train.
