Very well built placed information exceeds expectations awesome place to visit
Extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great exhibits to interest a wide range of ages. Highly recommended!Free admission. The museum itself is well done but not very big, so it could take from 30 minutes to 2 hours to explore depending on how much you read and interact with the displays.Plus there is a Little Free Library right outside!
Very nice setup I like the way the vendor booths were setup. Lots of costumes and performers. The only thing I would add is to put lights where the food vendors were located in parking lot since it got dark it was very difficult on both the vendor and me to navigate and see food that I was interested in. Some vendors were leaving because of low visi
Wonderful staff! Had some great chats and learned so much from the kind staff! Will be visiting again!
I had never been so I was happy to have gone and I loved it and cant wait to go again .
A Group Of Us Went On A Tour Of The Museum And Totally Enjoyed It! One Could Spend Hours Here, So Much Interesting People And Things To See. I Loved It
This is a tiny museum space, but definitely go here to learn about Kumeyaay history and Culture. The staff is super friendly and helpful. There is a library and a nice gift shop, and the staff loves to answer questions! The curator even researched an item I bought in the gift shop and sent me a nice email with much information about the item.
It was the best I seen in a long time
Great museum that offered Indian cooking classes and a few other classes I would of definitely went to if wed stayed longer.
Nice museum, friendly staff and bought some beautiful weaved earrings in the gift shop
Our guide was very kind, informative and confident in presenting the information to us. She was able to answer all of our questions during and after our tour. We learned a lot.
Ijust found out I am 53% native American. I was thrilled by the small museum collection and how the tribe is trying to support their language and culture
Nice atmosphere
Great experience friendly staff lots of great information wonderful learning experience
Quality small museum. Library. Classes on cultural streets such as basketry and cooking.
To get there you have to take very twisty windy roads from either direction but its a very Scenic and beautiful ride especially if you own a motorcycle I love it.
It is really fun and they have camps during the day
Pro tip - Dont do what I did & walk all the way here from Barona Resort & Casino. Especially on a nearly 100 degree afternoon.Barona Museum is a free attraction on the Barona reservation that focuses on the presentation & perpetuation of the native Kumeyaay-Diegueno culture. During a weekend stay at the resort, my inquisitive nature led me on a walk to the museum, by way of Barona Mission first. Stepping inside, I was greeted by ancient artifacts dating back to as early as 10,000 years ago.One of the temporary exhibits was Sports : The Competitive Spirit of Barona, showcasing memorabilia from notable Native American athletes throughout history.Another exhibit was Barona Veterans Wall of Honor. Recognition is deservedly given to more than 50 tribal & community members, especially those who received high honors for bravery in battle. Amongst them are 6 Purple Heart recipients.Of course, cant have a museum w/o nifty gifties at the gift shop. Merchandise for sale included various stonework, apparel & plush toys of native, and not so native, wildlife.I enjoyed going back in time & diving into the rich history of the native Kumeyaay-Diegueno people, during my brief visit to the Barona Museum. I gathered a greater appreciation of those who came before & was fascinated with all the intricacies from the artifacts which have been pristinely kept intact throughout the years. A definite must if in the area.Highly recommend!
