This is an great little park with amazing trails. The views are beautiful and mostly shaded. Most of the time you see some great wildlife which makes it that much cooler. Love walking the trails. Most people dont even know that its back there because its hidden.

Outstanding park in the city. Multiple pavilions for rent for large groups. Smaller covered open pavilions for free. Several restrooms. Excellent boardwalk and walking/biking trail. Short but very good. Outstanding nature walk except for you can hear alot of road noise. Highly recommended for a relaxing walk.

This is a wonderful park! Great for the famliy! There places to picnic shady trees to sit under! Paved walk way great for strollers and bicycles and much more! Enjoy!

Very nice fields. Playground to keep the little kiddies busy while the bigger ones play baseball. The park also have a walk path around the parameter to walk off that last hotdog your shouldnt have eaten. Full snack bar and yes, they take cards now.

Beautiful park and the grounds crew was very friendly. Kept the trash cans emptied and was very nice.

This was my first visit and I got to say this is a nice park with lots of different slides and climbing things for the kids. I do wish they fenced the playground in like the park on Carter road, when you are a parent or grandparent of more than one having the playground fenced in makes it a little easier to keep kids from not running off where they shouldnt. But I do love the ground cover, the rubber makes for a much softer landing when little ones fall. Nice walking trail, ball parks, pavilions. Great park for sure

A great place to go walk. More than half the time we see all kinds of wild life. There is a bright cardinal and its mate that have a permanent nest along the fence line that connects an apartment complex to the park, rabbits tucked in the area near the toll plaza, alligators both large and small in and around all of the water, turtles, and a wide variety of birds that come and go.

Peterson Park has some great sports fields you can utilize for some group activities, connects to the Lake2Lake trail through town, and also offers a very short boardwalk trail through some beautiful foliage. There are also some convenient places to fish.

Nice hike on the boardwalk and the new extended path. Cleanest the bathrooms have ever been.

Nice park with little league fields, plenty of picnic pavilions, bathrooms, playground and a huge boardwalk along the lake. During baseball season parking is probably scarce and its likely hot as blazes in the summer. Also convenient to a bike path, YMCA and Polk Parkway.

Pleasant surprise. Pedestrian and bicycle friendly pathways along lakes and ponds. See active wading and song birds, gators, turtles and more. Impressive view from top of the boardwalk. Easy to access and plenty of parking. Restrooms on site too. Pavilions available for picnicking.

This little park is a hidden gem in lakeland. Has a little something for everyone, a small play area for toddlers and bigger kids. It has boardwalks around the Lakes and soccer fields in baseball fields. Its shaded and the area is very clean. The only thing that is a negative for this little Park is that is right by the parkway so it can get a little loud. Beautiful place really!!

Fantastic walking/biking trails, plenty of parking and rest areas! Great place to see the wildlife and overall scenery! Definitely a hidden gem of Lakeland!

Nice boardwalks. One of my favorite places in Lakeland . Hundred percent natural and peaceful. Bridge is great for pictures or just walk through tho.

I look forward to fishing it in warmer weather. The only down fall for me is the boat ramp. Super steep and you have to hug the left side.

Beautiful park at sunset. Lots of wild birds and squirrels. The board walk is a great place to exercise with a view. I moved from South Floridato Polk County and have had to find new fun free places. This is definitely my new favorite. So serene and my daughter loves the playground.

Im surprised this place is not listed on Yelp. I love coming to this park with my family when I visit them because its a great little hidden gem in Lakeland, FL. They offer covered picnic tables, playgrounds for children, boating ramps, sport activities, and a nice boardwalk for walking/running. The park is set around a large lake near the toll road next to the YMCA business.The entrance fee is absolutely free! The hours are from Dawn to Dusk everyday.

This clean, pretty Park is tucked quietly behind the Lakeland Y. A small walkway around Lake John complements a nice play area and picnic grounds. There are ball fields here as well.

When we just want to get out of the house we go to Peterson Park. Its gorgeous on the boardwalk overlooking the water. My son and daughter love taking the trails. And it gets us out of the house!

One of the best most up kept parks in town. The city takes great care of the baseball fields. We travel from the other end of town to play here.

Nice trails, a small playground, plenty of docks to fish off, free pavilions with picnic tables and benches, and they offer screened in pavilions for rent.

Peterson Park is close to my heart because I grew up playing here and family and friends had parties at the pavilions. Now my nephew plays tee ball here, great park and safe area.

The City of Lakeland shows through its wonderful city parks they really want to do good work for their citizens. This park is another example of that. Really nice facilities, including the concession stand and even the restrooms.

This park is probably known more for the baseball fields, but there is also a playground for kids, an elevated boardwalk, a boat launch, and paved trail thats great for a peaceful walk. For bikers, it connects to the lake to lake bike trail, and leads to the Woodlake area which will connect to New Jersey Rd. Nice park, well maintained.

Nice park and good ball fields

Fantastic lake and nature views from a real, wooden boardwalk. The park itself is fairly small but offers many sights for the patient and the observant. Sneak in after dark and watch fireflies flashdance at the east side retention area just to the northwest of the Parkway toll booth in the spring and fall! :)

Beautiful refuge for local wildlife. Great bike trail, and an excellent location for bird watching. Very family friendly.

Got my windows smashed and my purse stolen. Beware.
