Went there for the first time and enrolled in the skills academy and a league for my 6 year old.Skills Academy :: The website asked for choice of 5pm or 6pm classes. We selected 6 pm as that would align with work but were given 5 pm. Called up the office and requested a change and it seemed that what done is done. Random picking was done. And now they cannot move us to 6 pm. And no refunds. So, all money goneLeague :: Not too bad but it was a change for us since our son has always played in park district leagues where its a field with throw Ins and stuff but here there was the wall everywhere. But i guess its a matter of time getting used to. However, the volunteer coaches were the problem. We have always had volunteer coaches but the this time and in our team both coaches were just watchers. All they did was practice penalty kicks before games and in the game they just watched. My son was really disappointed at the end of the season and he was like other coaches help a lot they say go there. come here, pass there, but these 2 are quiet. We are 6 year olds. We need some help. So thats it. no more.Am talking about the Lake Zurich one.
This is a review for the Ela Club at the old Main Street location off Rt 22....I signed my two daughters up for an afternoon soccer class, neither had played before. My one daughter is actually younger than the age group and was allowed to try the class. She never played. She was so intimidated she would just cry on the field until she was allowed off the field to sit with me. When I called to sign up the women I spoke to said she could try it. I assumed that meant if she didnt do it I could get a refund or credit towards another class. When I contacted them to let them know she never participated in the class and request a credit I was told there were no refunds or credits and I should just keep bringing her because they never had a kid not do it. Well I guess we should get a medal for being the first. I would NOT recommend this club for first time players. There should be some flexibility with kids, especially three year old. My other daughter loves the class but we will continue with soccer at another club that is more understanding. A total waste of money for my youngest daughter to just sit on the sidelines.
Very disappointed. Not much direction or instruction on how to play the game, just kinda ran them around 15 mins before a game so wasn’t a surprise that they didn’t know what they were doing.
My son played for Ela for many years. He made some life-long friends with other kids who he played with. Elas travel coaches are real good, their staff is excellent and they offer travel and rec teams. Rec teams have volunteer coaches, most of whom have also played soccer for years. I would recommend the Club for anyone who is medium to seriously interested in soccer. Its a club the players can grow with.
Sometimes an ok club but parents of kids can often get coaches to move them up even if they aren’t worthy of the position on the team.
Great place
Great Soccer Club
