The manager is very rude. The course forced two riders per cart. They charge $25 for an extra cart. DO NOT PLAY THERE.Response to owner: The reason for the single star is listed. above. What the manager said is not friendly and made us felt are not welcome. Not for the extra $25 cart. That is why we left and wont be back for a long time.
I love this place. I need to play here more. The course, club house, and homes that ring the fairways are beautiful. I first played here on Easter Sunday in around 1987 and shot even par. No wonder why I like it. Lol. Finally, very easy to get to from I-4 and the 417.
First time playing was yesterday this course although I have lived in the Heathrow area going on 6 years now. Dave at the front desk was very kind and got my partner and I situated with our check in. The facilities are very nice and clean and the fairways and greens have some interesting features which made the course enjoyable (decent amount of rolling hills and water). Carts were excellent with the GPS finders built in. Will def be making this my home course whenever I get a chance to play.
Second time here. I loved it the first time and I liked it this time. The layout here is really fun with some hills and holes that really put water intonplay. The greens were really fast today, really fast. But it looks like something has happened to several of the greens and they had some rough patches. Id say the overall health and look of the course is good, and I had a lot of fun playing it. The staff was friendly, but there was no cart person today. If you are in the area, younshould give it a shot.
Worst course I played in two years. When I called the said nothing about cart path only. Tee boxes were the horrible and some of the greens not much better. I have a new green app so I asked how the greens were running, they said around 10, not close to 8. I guess they needed our $37.00 green fees. Save your money plenty of other local courses to choose from. Also GPS in the cart kept freezing up.
We played 9 different courses in 6 days and found this track to be the most enjoyable! Greens were well maintained and on the faster side. In spite if all the recent rain, the course was very well drained. Only negative was cart GPS system was restrictive. This course is definitely in our top 2 must play list in Orlando and the I-4 corridor to Daytona. Great design, very well mai maintained and just plain FUN!!!
Ok. Pretty beat up. Staff was very nice and greens were a bit quick...
Working with Dana has been an absolute pleasure and she has made the wedding planning process easy every step of the way. I am looking forward to not only working with the Timacuan team moving forward but to host my wedding there in 2021.
Great course and in very good condition.
Timacuan Golf Club in Lake Mary Florida has seen both the good times and the bad. This semi-private, championship layout was once recognized as one of the purest and most enjoyable tests of golf in Central Florida. For several years, the course was maintained at a less than satisfactory level; fairways became thin and divot-infested. Tee boxes were uneven and well-worn and the greens were diseased and unhealthy. Unfortunately. this once formidable course had fallen way down the local desirability list.New owners stepped in a few years ago and good things began to happen. Key elements of the course were redesigned, lights were added to the driving range, and the clubhouse was redesigned. As a result, Timacuan not only renewed its popularity as a popular golf course, it’s now recognized as a viable venue for weddings. The golf course represents everything that is Florida Golf: abundant wetlands, sand, palm trees, and wildlife. The nines couldn’t be any different, yet when combined, create a course that is both enjoyable and memorable. The front nine is reminiscent of a links design with rolling terrain, deep swales, waste areas, and pot bunkers. There’s a little bit of elevation change, as can be seen on the first hole. The elevated green will probably require one extra club. Other than the second hole, there’s not much water to contend with on the front nine; not so on the back, where it comes into play on just about every hole. Timacuan’s MiniVerde greens roll true and fast and feature subtle undulations that can leave you scratching your head.Timacuan features 6 sets of tee boxes, with the yardages ranging from 4,693 for ladies and juniors to 7,047 yards from the back tees. The two back sets of tees will challenge better golfers while both sets of forward tees take many of the hazards out of play, making Timacuan playable for junior and beginning golfers.Number 2 (par 4, 389 yards) is by far the course’s most challenging hole and understandably the #1 handicap. Your tee shot plays over water to an island fairway. The tee shot is everything on this hole; finding the fairway – or at least your golf ball – is a win on this hole. You’ll need to contend with the water on your approach shot as well and an extra club is recommended as the shot plays longer than you think. With a recently remodeled clubhouse, a recently hired chef who isn’t afraid to try new things and a menu and wait staff that are second to none, Timacuan has everything you need to put together a successful - and memorable - golf event. Timacuan’s professional staff will do everything possible to help you produce an event that exceeds your expectations - and those of your guests. In addition to hosting golf tournaments and events, the Timacuan venue is becoming very popular for weddings, in fact, they have been ranked in the top 5% of event venues by the Wedding Wire Couples Choice awards for the past five years in the greater Orlando area. Whether it’s an intimate gathering for 50 or a gala celebration for 250, the club’s elegant blend of rustic and modern is the perfect backdrop for your reception. Their professional staff is there to help you with each small detail, exquisite menu options and a commitment to exceeding all of your expectations.Timacuan is home to the Sean Foley Performance Center a full-time residential junior golf academy program that offers training to all levels of young golfers. Their goal is to provide students with the best golf development program in the world. Their coaches train players that play at the highest levels of competition across the globe. Students learn from Sean Foley and his consultants about every facet of the game and continue their improvement every day. The Foley Performance Center is located across the street from the pro shop adjacent to the lit driving range and practice area.
Worst golf experience weve had as a group. Greens where sanded with no warning (apparently posted on their site after we already had booked), tee boxes beat up, and fairways poor as well. Staff offered no help and told us we must have just missed their warning (double checked with TeeOff after the fact, and confirmed this was not true). Absolute waste of money as the majority of the course is unplayable.Wont be returning and wouldnt advise anyone to play here. Mayfair is a better value and right up the road.
The course is in ok shape some of the greens have dead spots on them that have been filled with the divot sand. The tee boxes are also a little beat up but we have to remember that it is the first week of February. The course needs time to heal and come back. I think the layout is beautiful and the course is probably challenging for most golfers.
I love this course! Its in great shape and fun to play. Long course for ladies and fairways were in good shape some greens need water. But overall its a great course.
My parents live in Timicuan so I come here often. They have a beautiful golf course-with well manicured landscaping. We used to eat at Timicuan every Easter. It’s more of a grill at this point-and I haven’t been there in ages. The grounds are stunning!
I can not speak more highly of the staff and location at Timacuan. Mandy and her team put together the most memorable night for my wife and I’s ten year wedding anniversary. They were able to incorporate items from our wedding day (also at Timacuan) and even tied in the colors and theme. It totally exceeded my expectations and I would recommend them to anyone looking to host an event.... especially if you want to be blown away with their attention to detail and presentation! Special thanks to Janet Bachanov for providing the best service during this special time.
Course is in good shape! Staff is friendly
Great fast greens
The golf course deserves a 5 star for sure! The icing on the cake is the staff. We, 3 of us intermediate golfers, were treated like pro golfers. I am thankful to have met Glory at the bar. The icing on the cake was Nathan, the manager. He was awesome, you have to check them out. I will definitely be there regularly! Thank you all!
Best public-accessible course north of Orlando! Over 7000 from the tips and very well maintained. I joined because I live in Winter Park, and theres nothing comparable nearby. The staff are professional and friendly. Food is great, too.
A 4 hour and 20 minute round is ridiculous in these times where everyone gets their own golf cart and the tee times are spaced out. Multiple groups backed up on almost every hole, and didn’t see a ranger all day. I won’t go back.
Very nice gold course and the greens were in near perfect condition. Everyone I encountered there today were very nice. I wish they offered discounts to Active Duty and Retired military.
Challenging layout and good value. Carts very old. Course in average condition.
Course is beautiful. Neighborhood is gorgeous. But, a couple of the greens need major work.Im working towards membership and will probably upgrade my rating when I visit the bar and the grill :)
This was a decent course, and I appreciate how they maintained it. The prices were nothing too crazy, and we were able to get a twilight rate. However, the staff kind of had an attitude like they were one of the finest country clubs in Orlando, and wanted our group to understand that. The course was nice, but there are about 50 nicer ones in the area. I mean, its Orlando
I really enjoyed the course, very senic, alot of water and in very good condition.
Played a tournament at Timacuan on 10/26. The course was in good shape. The staff throughout the establishment were professional and courteous. Prices for food and drinks were reasonable as well as the prices in the pro shop. I had a great time and enjoyed the course. Will definitely play here again.
Was in good shape
Greens and fairways are in really good shape right now.
Golf course is great. Food was pretty okay. Staff were nice.
Beautiful course with great practice facilities.
Havent been personally but I hear its one of the best places to go.
Im super picky with my golf courses, so dont let the 3stars fool you. Fairways are nice, pretty solid layout, greens are running about 10.5. Tee boxes leave much to be desired, but overall a great course for the weekend warrior. Long enough to use most of the clubs in my bag, and easy to score on if you are a low handicapper.
Nice place to have an event, very well kept. The food was pretty good. I went there for a fundraiser.Peace and Power
Its very beautiful inside. I just went for a quick work presentation.
This was a nice course for most of its history but not so much any more. Fees are ridicules, while the course is in disrepair. Got two tee times but couldnt get more than four people from my 24 golfer group to play due to costs and conditions. $49 for a dried out PUNCHED GREEN course. The only players to play all had coupons they were sorry they bought. We wont be back any time soon.
Beautiful golf course. The clubhouse staff are very good.
Wonderful course! Well maintained and very courteous staff. Price is right, well be back!
Great course layout, greens were rolling well. Overall very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this course
My Husband and I chose Timacuan for our wedding venue and had such a wonderful experience from the first day of planning to the wedding day! David and his team are helpful, responsive, and professional. The food was EXCELLENT and the atmosphere was BEAUTIFUL. They made us feel so very special and cared for. Thank you Timacuan for giving us the best wedding ever!
Nice course, undulations and dog legs make for challenging holes. Golf carts are new, with USB ports, which is a bonus. Greens have some areas for improvement, but are relatively true and quick.Good service
Awesome community to live in, filled with multiple amenities.Im sure the golf courses are magnificent as theyre constantly inundated with golf fans/players.
Great looking course in a well maintained area. Plenty of parking around. Driving range has great balls and flags marking many locations but the only downside is I’ve never seen the hitting area leave the range mats.
Honestly liked the course a lot. It was a good layout, greens rolled pretty good, and the guy in the pro shop was very nice. I gave it 5 stars because I don’t want to blame the course so much but I do have one complaint for the management. We had to wait on every hole because we were stuck behind a five some all day and it was just two of us. I’m assuming they were members because not many courses let that big of a group play together. Members or not, the starter, who saw us pull up behind them on the first hole, should tell them to be courteous of small groups behind and to let them pass. I do not believe they had anyone in front of them until the very end. My friend and I are both girls so maybe they thought we would be slow but when we catch up on every hole that should be a good indicator that we were faster than them.
Timacuan Golf Club: Located north of Orlando in Lake Mary, just a mile or so off Interstate-4, Timacuan is a popular and solidly designed layout. A seemingly equal distribution of small lakes and ponds, Floridian wetland, pine forest, sandy waste areas and good-quality housing flank the holes on this always testing and absorbing layout. Housing is generally set well back from the good-width, well-bunkered or water flanked fairways.
Nice course but a little under repair.
Other than very slow play the fairways were somewhat thin and a few greens had bad spots on them but overall the greens putted very well. Definitely would play again. It was very windy so course played pretty tough. Restaurant employees were very friendly.
Great course. Fairways were pretty rough this go around. I’ll check in around July when Florida returns to it’s wet season!
Was there for a wedding professional vendors event. Great food, really nice faculties and great staff. Check it out for your wedding or next event.
I only attended a rehearsal dinner here but the facilities seemed fairly nice. The views were pretty and from about 50 feet I saw 2 holes of golf course that seemed to be in good shape.Full disclosure: I dont have 20/20 vision but Im close.
Solid layout with well used elevation changes. Some interesting tee shots if you play the tips. Fairways were in good shape. Most of the greens rolled fast and true. They also looked pristine. A few greens have some disease (2 or 3). Those couple of greens were the only bad thing. I asked about them after my round. The pro shop guy told me they planned to completely re-do the greens within the next year. He mentioned them possibly using Champion. I will be very interested to see what this course becomes if the greens go that route.Recommendation - Try to spot a good rate on their website and get a round in here.
Beautiful golf course, nice club house as well. Friendly staff, and clean
Love this couse, pace of play is outstanding. Great layout, course is in good shape considering the cold winter and dry spell we are experiencing. I recommend this course to everyone I can.
Beautiful course. Well maintained. Staff is friendly. Will definitely play there again.
Had a lovely tour of the venue today. Banquet facilities look fantastic for events.
I officiated a special gay wedding at Timacuan on Friday and that was the first time I had ever been to Lake Mary and this wedding venue. I was quite impressed with the venue but in particular with the Director of Operations, David Assis who greeted me warmly when I arrived for the rehearsal. David has such a gregarious humorous personality and champagne flair for the work he does. All during the rehearsal and the wedding the following day, he kept a pulse on every minutiae of what was going on and making sure everyone was having a good time and their needs met. His professionalism and customer service skills are outstanding. It is no wonder that his staff also provide the utmost in customer service to the guests, always smiling and accommodating to the guests and friendly. One of the wait staff served me hot tea with such grace and flair that I felt like a queen! I definitely recommend this venue to anyone who likes to be pampered and treated like royalty. You will have a magical and memorable experience.
Course was in good shape. Layout offered challenging play. Prompt friendly service in pro shop and restaurant make this my top spot to play golf!
This is a favorite course of our group. The greens are very fast throughout the course right now. The only difficulties were tight lies in the fairways. There’s grass that’s kinda dormant right now, making the ball sit low to the ground.
Friendly staff allowed to get one the course by myself. Finished the round in 2.5 hours. Excellent fast greens. Fair way can be too hard due to lack of rains. All in all a good course. Will come back.
2nd time I’ve played this course, 1st time course is what you expect good fairways, roughs that will make you 2nd guess the lie and greens that ran true! 2nd time was for a local charity tournament Tee-Lo Golf, amazing enough conditions was even better! Great staff and very friendly! Recommend any level of golfer!
One of the tougher courses Ive played. Another course with a strong layout that has seen better days. Friendly staff in pro shop and restaurant. Love this course.
Course is in great shape! Greens have been replaced recently. The entire clubhouse has been renovated as well. One of the best tracks in Central Florida
Whoever runs the place now could care less about customer service. Greens are definitely not what they used to be. The employees are also rude was greeted with a what can I do for ya in the pro shop. Place Is not the same thumbs down
Nice track but overpriced usually in good condition
The pro shop people were very nice and accomodating. The course was in good shape and well worth the $39 with cart fee. This is a top class public course with 5 sets of tees and well manicured greens. Of course water on almost every hole and to be expected in Florida.
Good value golf now $27. Though the traps were washed out, mats only driving range and greens were heavily divided for a private CC? Would pay full price oh $85 as a guest
Semi private golf course has a number of difficult holes. Test on 1 uphill to elevated green, 2nd hole water carry, 3rd hole wayer right, marsh left, and 4th hole uphill 170 yd par 3 to elevated green. After that the course mellows out for a few holes. This is a shot makers course requiring precission off the green. Overall condition was good. Greens are tif eagle and role true. I am a 10 handicap and shot a 78 last week on this layout from white tees, 6200 yds.
Great services and the way they cleaned up after their own a great day
Nice golf course at reasonable green fees.
DONT GIVE THE CADDY YOUR KEYS TO LOCK THE DOORS. They steal. And the Club House kitchen is gross. Roaches and all. I saw the cook guy Roger, drop food and say I dont care, let them get ebola. But he told me he hates his job anyway so its probably to be expected. It is Interesting how no black people work there. The manager David said he doesnt know how it would resonate with the guest. But the members were the absolute best part of any of my visits. They were a total charm to chat with at the club house bar.
Very friendly staff in the shop and bar, great golf course and a very good test of your skills very fair test
Looks better and better. Greens are rolling good.
If youre anywhere near the Orlando area you need to play this track.
Great shape! The course is way better than it was last year. Greens are fast for the average golfer.
Went to a Wedding Reception here, management seemed more interested in getting the food done, than creating a welcoming atmosphere
Very disconnected. The patrons mean nothing to this club. Money pit. You are not allowed to bring your own coolers. The golf carts have coolers but to get ice you have to buy two or more drinks from the bar. A six pack is $20.00. Horrible.
Im a bit dissatisfied with the course as it was a bit overpriced, the course itself was in pretty good condition, the staff seemed friendly and the restrooms and everything was very clean and quirky. The golf course was, like I said, ok but it was a bit overpriced for the cart and the entire 18holes (bout $60) there was nothing special about the course and Im unsure why the price was so high as the course wasnt even in spectacular conditions. And also being a junior they didnt even have a discount for the kids, this was probably the only course that DID NOT give a little discount for kids. The cart fee was $25? Kids cant even drive, whats the point of the price being so high?
Nice club. Challenging course and well maintained fairways
The course is in good condition. Biggest knock are lack of yardage indicators other than the 150 Mark. Its a strange course in that theyve got screens in the golf carts however do not provide GPS on the cart.
Awesome location to play and the price is fair. The greens are great too!
Nice Course
Great venue for a wedding
Great lay out, conditioning could be better.
Hit- em straight or bring plenty of balls
This course is absolutely beautiful and the staff are very helpful. The restaurant has delicious food at reasonable prices and friendly service.
The course was in very good condition. Always have a good time playing here.
Nice place. Really relaxing
It was an awful experience. There is a wooden bridge on number 15 and it was so old that break up to little pieces. My dad was driving on that bridge and suddenly wooden pieces popped up, went through the cart and stab his leg. Thankfully, it wasnt major injury but he couldve lost his leg. So i told the pro shop what happened and all he said was he is okay tho, do you want me to call 911? What do you want me to do? All we wanted was sincere apology and take an action to that bridge so theres no more happening like today. I really didnt appreciate his attitude and dont ever wanna come back again.
Just a terrible experience. We were rushed on the first tee even though we were awaiting in the area the staff directed us and that continued throughout our round. We couldnt even tee off when we were told to speed up our pace of play on hole 6-7 because there was a group in the fairway not more than 150 yards in front of us, yet we were told to hit anyways. We would have killed the poor ladies. Go somewhere else. Just awful.
My husband and son and I were impressed about the beautiful facility and Golf Course and were also happily surprised by the friendliness of the whole staff at the pro shop and the downstairs restaurant. With the only exception of one particular person, the Director of Operations, David Assis. His disrespect and rudeness towards guests of the Timacuan Golf Club is unheard of.It is disparaging to the reputation of the club. This behavior did not surprise any of the employees. It is very unfortunate that in the many years of being involved in junior golf this has been our very first encounter with a man as rude and obviously unhappy in his role as Mr. Assis.
Course is in good shape and maintains the challenging layout it has had for a while.
The service was impeccable, but the greens and rough left something to be desired. Fairways were in good shape.
So frustrated with them sometimes! The ball caddy works sometimes and sometimes it doesnt. Even after purchasing a pre-paid key fob for convenience the machine is half-working. Today I went out at 6:30pm and the staff on the range said the machine was turned off automatically at 6:30. Upon driving away and calling the pro-shop to complain they said - no, its not supposed to be off. Figure it out, Timacuan. This is about the 3rd time Ive had trouble and all I want to do is hit some balls!
Played there today and was very disappointed hit my first drive right down the center and wound up in an area of the fairway at least 40x60 ft. where there was no grass growing. I can name 4 public courses within 30 miles of there that look like Bay Hill compared to the conditions at Timacuan. So you can tell that the conditions got worse after the first hole.
Outstanding Course!
Nice track and good condition
The wedding venue is beautiful and the staff is amazing
Fast greens and some elavation change. The fairways had no grass whatever.
