A wonderful club that feels more like a family. So happy to have my daughter, not only be coached at A4, but, be a part of a program that believes in developing the whole person and not just the athlete. Kudos to A4 for not just coming up with a good philosophy, but for actually putting one in place and providing excellent mentors both on and off the court
Giving no refunds for this cancelled season! The owner was refunded tournament fees and still won’t consider giving refunds to families that paid for nonexistent season.
We played for this club for 2 seasons. We were all in, leveraging their onsite conditioning partner Alpha and attending the few events they put on. Beautiful facility but the teams at our level were weak from a competitive perspective and there didnt seem to be any collaborating on how to build the talent to the next level. We tried to help by doing some team building, gaining permission from the owner to do an overnight at the facility. The coach didn’t attend and they turned off the air in the early evening. It was miserable.Last season we inquired about our daughters placement wanting to be on an aggressive development team. The coach said “no problem, she can move up” - and then I got an invoice for another $1500”. How’s that for rigor? We declined and sat on a team that progressed poorly since it was far too late to move clubs at that point. Fast forward to this season. My daughter wanted to play for them again so tried out, was offered a position, then the next day this was yanked (by email, classy) because they didn’t have “enough players accept”. I think that says it all, as does her response.. “figures”. If your daughter isn’t already a top player and is looking to build her skills, I’d keep looking.
Several of the coaches are not passionate about coaching volleyball and dont have it as a priority. There is no sense of partnership or family between players and club. The owner is often unavailable and wont even return a call. We most likely wont go back this year. The facility is nice with many courts.
My daughter loves this club. Great instruction, coaches and facility. She is looking forward to joining the A4 familia this fall.
Watched this team at a tournament recently. Parents for the 18 year old team were awful, incredibly rude. Not a good representation for the club.
They have a safe and clean environment with wonderful, nice kids. The coaches work because they are passionate, not for money which I love about it. My daughter has improved so much from the beginning.
The players are not the priority. The club will have a team lose on purpose to advance another club team. This occurred at the Long Beach tournament in May. 16 greys were sabotaged by their coach to lose to 16 blacks to guarantee the blacks a chance for gold. The club will also move players from one team to another just for a tournament and take the playing time of other girls. Occurred at local and travel tournament to Chicago. Real cool to pay for flight and hotel to have 2 girls join at the last minute and take 2 others’ playing time. The facility is nice but don’t let that fool you. Once they have your cash, things change.
Great facilities and the coaching staff is fantastic! Highly recommended for all skill levels.
Gave them a 5 was only a drop off for practice.
