Columbia County Historical

My family & I had an excellent time visiting this historically filled beauty! Special thanks to the very kind staff for accommodating our browsing adventures & gifting us with their knowledge.

Just a short drive off the interstate and worth every minute. Quaint and quiet with lots of history to witness.

The pic ur using is ACTUALLY of the COURTHOUSE. The CCH is ACTUALLY jus inside a . Looked to sketchy to even go inside, very disappointed.

This is actually our courthouse not a museum. The museum is about a block away and only contains old letters, supposedly ghost sightings, old furniture and not much else.

Interesting to see the history of Lake City and Columbia County. Its worth a visit when they are open. It would be nice if they had another day where they were open.

Always friendly people available to assist you with learning the history of Columbia County.

Visited historical society, and a couple of local parks. All nice, unfortunately no place to excersis the dogs at the parks. Very nice neighborhood and downtown area.

After driving over to see the place one one of the days they were to be open, there was a sign on the door that they were closed until OCT 17, 2019 for remodeling. They need to note on the website that they are closed.

Very nice for Christmas.

It is rarely open and the collection is very eclectic, but the museum is still a great visit to discover some interesting local history. Take a look at the Civil War-era rifles that were found late last century in Lake Desoto and the story of how they got there.
