Horrific! And I’m being nice! The place is huge and with all the workers in town, it was packed! At $650 a month, I expect that the bathrooms would be cleaned. If they don’t have the staff to keep them clean, then don’t allow that many people. We witness a big fight and the people walking around were sketchy! There’s 4 bathrooms for the entire park. They never answer the phone and refuse to refund our money for a shortened stay. The filth was everywhere. Goose poop everywhere. I wouldn’t let my family stay there ever. You might loose your vehicle in one of the potholes too!
Its was terribly. The land lord Tommy is a slime. I get that the storm just passed by but he could have told me that there is no power, plus charged me full price. No refund. The place is unorganized and Tommy would not reply to calls or text regarding trying to get a refund or half price due to the condition of the park. A hard pass.
This place is nothing like it used to be with the previous owners, they made it fun and entertaining. Its boring and the cabin is very hot. For $130 a night they could at least clean before you check in. When I checked in there was wet wash cloths everywhere and urine all over the toilet! Check in is at 3 everything closes at 5 so it is a waste of money. We been here only 3 hours and ready to leave already!
Nice looking park even with damage from hurricane Laura. The mosquitoes at dusk are insane though but thats part of being in southern Louisiana.
My cousin and I stayed her for a week, I was sceptical because of all the reviews I read about the noise and the roads but we decided to try. It is a very nice park, the speed limit is 5 mph if you do the speed limit the roads are not an issue there is 1 bad spot when you first come in slow down its not a problem the roads in the back of the park are rough but being a bus driver I have seen some bad roads these are good roads ( Id love these roads on some of my route ) noise was not a problem after 10 it is all quiet. I will stay there again hopfully next July. I love that they have full hook ups. There dog park is real nice, and they offer so much with the adult pool and the kids water park, canoeing, fishing, and the little gulf course a week was not enough time to enjoy all this rv. park has to offer. And the laundry room was nice and clean.
Could clean the bathrooms better but quite place
They went from 400 a month to 650 a month because all the DIASTER ASSISTANCE CREWS ARE THERE. CAN ANYONE SAY PRICE GOUGING
Beautiful and peaceful place. Lots of fish and nice pools
Good place to stay, kinda pricy 630 per month plus tax, they just need to put more attention in the shower houses, being clean. Everything else’s is very nice
Great little spot hidden off the main streets. Larger park that they are in the process of paving the roads currently. Large lots and long pull thru sites that are easy in and out.Look for the letter and number on the electrical boxes as the streets at this time are not named. At this point the sites look to be clay or D1 and level which is important.Friendly staff and nice space.
Not worth $80 for an RV spot. The facility is decent. Very disappointed that the water park is only open from 1-5pm, and we missed out on that feature.
Facility looked clean an there are things for kids to do. Rightfully so. the pool area was closed until summer. Very nice, well kept pond with geese. We was passing thru not staying so thats all I have to offer. FYI - They also had a mini golf course for kids.
Besides the roaches, duck and goose poop everywhere theres also the quite expensive rent. And the gargantuan potholes? LolLets take a moment to mention the snail pace wifi but thats no worry because no matter your cell carrier youll have horrible reception.Oh. Theres also the fact that even if you leave the next day after paying a weekly rate theres ZERO refund. And the $50 security key card deposit? Still waiting for that too.Keep shopping. Theres much cleaner places to stay.
Nice people. Nice park. Been here since October. WiFi sucks every now and then but I guess thats common in a big park
Very nice quiet place has area where the dogs can play also kiddie pool and water park area and one for adults golf course and very nice people.
Awesome place visited my brother here while on Vacation to see my parents free wifi in park
In the summer of 2019, I didnt actually get to STAY at this campground. We made reservations ahead of a baseball tournament and our tournament location ended up changing the week before our scheduled stay. Firstly, it took me (and also a friend of mine) calling multiple times a day, leaving multiple messages, for almost 3 weeks to get a return call back from someone at the campground in order to even make a reservation. Once our plans changed with our tournament location 7 days prior to our reservation check in date, I began calling them right away to cancel and get the deposit of $160 (half of the reservation total) credited back to my checking account. After many attempted calls and leaving more voicemails for the staff, I finally received a call back to cancel...5 days prior to my reservation date. I was told that I could indeed cancel, but would not be receiving a refund of my deposit. I explained that I had been calling within the 7 day window to cancel and receive a full refund, but could only leave a message--no one returned my call for 2 days. I was told by staff that they were sorry, and they were shorthanded and referred me to speak to management. Needless to say my husband and I made multiple calls to Ashley, the manager (who is NEVER in) and we never received a call back from her.Im not sure if they are under new management or what changed over the course of 1 year, because when we stayed for a week in summer 2018 we had a great experience.I would not recommend them now, having dealt with our situation this past summer. And sad to say that we will absolutely not be staying here again--not under this management.
Nice quite RV park with different size cabins, has dog park,Water park, nice safe kids playground,if your in the Lake Charles Moss Bluff area and need a RV spot or a cabin stop by and check it out.
Me Ashley in the office is very professional and courteous. Strongly recommend this resort. Been staying here for years for work and other reasons.
We stayed there over 6 months and always the lady or the guy at the entrance were so nice and kind, the ladys in the office meehh, the place is nice, we never have any issue there! I really felt safe there!
Nice place to stay
Would not recommend they have to turn the water off every few days to the whole park to fix leaks. we work nights so several nights we have to go to work with no shower. Me an 4 others are leaveing next month before rent comes up again an there has been alot of other people leave as well
Dead fish all around the bank
Very fun, much to do
Really nice camp to bring your family we had so much fun! Two years in a row we had my grandson’s birthday party there everyone had a blast .
This was a great place to stay very quite and very clean the pool and water park was amazing to have the only thing I didnt care for was the geese but would definitely return in the future!
Had a wonderful family day
Put a 100 deposit down and within 3hrs canceled...would not refund deposit! And the deposit was for 3 days away. That right there tells you what type of place it is! Major hotels dont even rob you like that! AVOID!
I really liked this resort. It is beautiful, and quiet. That staff was friendly, and I will stay there again if I am ever that way!
Terrible roads... but overall beautiful and extremely helpful staff!! They tell you theyre working on the roads.. but have been saying that for YEARS. To have cement would be a huge game changer and really make this place a top rated area!
Very peaceful with park for kids and a waterpark with mini golf + a normal pool
Excellent, scenic rv park ! Offered several amenities to make stay comfortable & convenient. Staff courteous & accommodating.
Very nice location, family friendly, and my kids loved the ducks!!
Love it...plenty of trees... The water park is sensational..and the best staff super friendly and the wildlife is awesome for the little bittles..hands down MY FAVORITE RV PARK EVER...and ive been in an rv traveling 15 yrs
Where to begin.. The roads are TERRIBLE. The maintenance guys work hard but they can only do so much. It’s over priced for sure. They’re making a killing off everyone each month $630.00 per lot...you do the math. As much money as they’re making, shouldn’t be an excuse as to why they can’t fix things. Broken washers & dryers that takes month on end to get fixed. Water slide was broken for several months during the swimming season. Lots? Most of them are filled with water. You have ducks swimming in your yard & you can’t get to the back of your camper without having rubber boots on. No matter how many request you put in it won’t get fixed. They give you an option to move your camper to a different spot with a $50.00 moving fee when you have to move your camper yourself. This is by far the worst campground we have ever stayed at. We travel for work all the time & have never seen anything like this. So if you want over priced muddy lots, pot holes & dusty roads then this is the perfect place for you. Some of the ladies are very nice, Mrs Denise was our favorite. Needless to say, we won’t be back.
Excellent park, great location & friendly staff.
Grandbabies loved it
Decent park. Lots of amenities but somewhat run down. Price is fair for what you get. Would be willing to pay more restrooms closer to the sites and better Wi-Fi.
Nice place with lots to do. They just need to stay on top of the road maintenance.
Beautiful and peaceful area friendly staff decent price
Very nice. Atmosphere is excellent. People are friendly but not too friendly.
Im a full timer. I spent a week vacation here, and it felt like a vacation. The roads arent perfect and the staff arent bipolar alcoholics. The pool was nice! The people were blue collar and just genuinely nice people. There are rules, but it was still the most relaxed park Ive visited. It was refreshing. The staff felt like family. My dog didnt have to be on a leash if he stayed close to me. It wasnt uppity. Just real.
The park is making great improvements like a new fence, guard shack, air conditioning in the laundry room. But it seems there is a disconnect from what the customer wants and the owners want. As a customer I would like a paved site. I would like paved roads. I would like a yard that has grass and that drains when it rains. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. The laundry room has two triple load washers($5), two double loadwashers($4) and a bunch if smaller washers($2). There are dryers and at certain times of the day they can be very busy. They also have a laundry service on site which is great for the guys who are here working. One pool behind the office and a splash play area for the kids. These are nit Olympic size pools but they are nice to get in and cool off. They use to have a DJ that played music every Friday but its done by 10 pm. Its hit or miss if he plays any more because he has become very popular. If we decide to leave it will be because of the mud and the roads. Otherwise I would stay.
Great place, people that work there are awesome. The roads kinda suck but, Kathy and Molly make up for it
We loved this place especially for the summer time it was Fantastic Four the family there was always events going on. They have a live DJ on Friday nights if you dont like that you dont have to go to it. The girls in the office were fantastic probably one of the best staffs we have come into contact with. I would highly recommend this place during the summer time
Our week stay at this park was uneventful but pleasant. My husband lived in Lake Charles some years ago when he was working on a construction project and we enjoyed visiting there again. The spaces are generous in size and the ambiance quiet and peaceful. The only facilities we used was the laundromat, which was one of the largest, cleanest and nicely equipped that I have used in an RV park. We stayed here in a fifth wheel and would definitely stay here again.
This place is awesome. Weve been here for about two months now. They have actual commercial washers and dryers and plenty of them. (My favorite part) They have two ponds to fish in, a park, a pool, and a splash pad for smaller kids. Lots of kids are here during the summer and a DJ is here every other Friday I think under the pavillion. Its like a party the whole park is invited to. There are lots of friendly ducks running around here (I love birds) and they are the only RV Park Ive seen that has security 24/7 at the front and only entrance/exit. The only negative thing is the pond is catch and release only and they never re stock the pond. The fish dont bite because they have had every bait and lure thrown out there at them. Other than that its paradise!
The outdoors was wonderful, but the cabins were shabby and rundown!
I think this was the only place Ive been to, that has its own water slide and splash pad, although they looked a little run down. The area was pretty quiet and clean, although it is clearly being used by migrant workers, as a hotel. One day, we were approached by a man, asking for a ride to the store. The only people we saw, using the pool and amenities, however, were families. We rented one of the 8-person, deluxe cabins and I found them over priced. They claimed to sleep 8, but thats about all anyone could do. The sink is tiny, too small to wash much and we ended up washing our dishes in the shower. That leads me to the bathroom. Its hard for more than one person to fit, unless someone stands in the shower. The hot water tank is tiny, probably 20-25 gallons. The stairs were so steep, its more like a ladder and we couldnt let the kids play, upstairs. There was no water hose, outside, so no way to wash the crabs we caught, south of Lake Charles, that morning.I was also under the impression that dogs were welcome, only to find a no-pets sign, at the front door. Its a good thing we didnt bring our dog. The second day we were there, management kicked out the people, next door, because the girl had a purse dog. They have a huge pond and fishing is allowed, but only as catch and release. Not much fun, there. The miniature golf course was covered with pine straw and clearly just a gimmick. They need to go take lessons from one of the Florida establishments. They DID have a nice playground, for the children. It was complete with a couple slides, a chain bridge and some kind of spiral pole thing.
Nice campground, kid friendly. just please fill in pot holes!!
Very nice rv park with lake, water park, mini golf and playground.... play at your own risk; going down the slide my kid was scraped on his ear.... its pretty old. The wifi doesnt work and they know about it but havent fixed it. We let office know about the huge hole we had next to camper so they could fill it..... couple of days later they fill the hole next to our lot where no one was living. We called that same day and they said they would get to it.... never did.
I’m giving this place a two star because of the horrible road conditions in the campground and the camp spot doesn’t have enough gravel so you will always have to re-level your camper. The only time I can use the Wi-Fi is when everybody else is at work or not up.
I was very disappointed in my recent visit and will not return. The progress that has been made has cost the resort its charm that my family & I had previously enjoyed. We had planned to stay for 2 days; however, my daughters(11 y.o & 9 y.o) & I left after only 4 hours of arrival. I felt that the long term tenants has compromised the safe & family friendly environment that we had experienced there. The water slide closed at 6 p.m. after my children had played for approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Gone were the multiple children on the water slide. Gone were the numerous golf carts with families being represented. Gone were the barbeques & wholesome feeling of the place. What exits now is nothing more than a man camp in my opinion, some broke down vehicles & a tenant in front of our cabin with a Pitt bull dog, at least it was on a leash. I did not feel comfortable if my children were not in sight as I had allowed on a limited basis on other visits. I left the cabin clean & neat after only 4 hours and requested a refund to Denise who said Ashley the manager would call me this morning. She has not called me. I even called them again to discuss my concerns & my refund. I was told an Asst. Manager would call by 2 p.m. This person never called either. So $260 for 4 hours & total disappointment for me and my children. This place resembles a trailer park & not a resort. I would have given 0 stars if that was an option.
Lots of amenities and things to do. Helpful staff so far. Ok been here 3 weeks now. The roads arent the best but they try to maintain them. My camper is sitting in water after a rain but it would cost $100 to move to a different spot. Still have great laundry and pavilions and horseshoes. ...
Decent for a weekend stop. Stay away from this place if you planning on staying while working in the area. Its a freaking mud pit. Camper spots a way unlevel. This place is way too expensive for what it is
Great location, roads could use grading and pothole filling but overall very good place
Little Lake Charles is a nice park that offers cabin rentals for those without campers. There are 2 swimming areas and a pond area that offers canoes. Makes for a nice family getaway. We enjoyed it and the kids had a blast! Will go back again!
The security officer was super nice and friendly and helped me out and he was very informative.
I will say there are pros and cons to this park.Pros: This IS the only resort that has a pool, splash pad, mini golf, horseshoes and vollyball all on site. The laundry facility is great. The machines wash and dries fast. The staff is friendly and helpful. Their is 24 hour security and gate access. The grounds keepers are friendly and helpful when ask what yo do in lake charles.Cons: You practicality need a 4 wheel drive or ATV to maneuver in and out of the park and in most lots. It is a muddy mess when it rains and a dust ball in the dry heat. They shut down the pool for a week to resurface it in the busiest time of the summer. The hours to the pool are till 10pm but they shut the splash pad down at 6pm when most of the parents are getting home from work. Our gate cards took damn near a week to fix. The lake is not well stocked and its catch and release. Chinese and Canadian Geese roam around which is fine but unless your feeding them stay away. They will chase you.In all its a good place if you have your kids with you. Lots for them to do.
Nice place to stay, can sit out by your fire pit if you want to, kid friendly, pet friendly BUT the roads suck big time full of mud holes, mud holes full of water at every lot, they wont fix them even wen you go ask, ..orher than that its good, oh and half the washers and dryers dont work
They have everything kids want there lol slide, pools, canoes, golf, play area and a DJ that comes and lights up the night every other weekend! Lots are decent size but price right now is way up . Staff is friendly and I like that its gated with your own cards for security. They also have 24hr security that rides around at night. I enjoyed staying there
This park could be nice if there were rules in forced. However the only rule they seem interested in forcing is NO ATVs. They where full of construction workers. And there is a party every night with loud music, and fighting and no one done nothing about it. Definitely NOT a good place for the family.
Very friendly staff and park lots of stuff to do
Way to expensive for one of the crappiest campgrounds Ive ever been too. The whole campground is full of nothing but white gravel that sure dirties your car if it rains. The only staff member that is friendly is the older lady that lets you in at the gate. The putt-putt golf course is a joke, mainly because they only have ONE PUTTER and the rest are wedges and irons. How can you have a putt putt course with one freaking putter Its just sad. Trust me, youre better off going to Sam Houston State Park to camp. Its not far, cheaper, and youre surrounded by nature rather than white dusty roads and ugly geese.
Lil lake Charles RV resort is a great place all the people are really nice and well mannered the prices are reasonable and they have a lot of great fun things to do, .
All the employees are rude and full of drama. And your manager Ashley has a bad habit of sleeping with married men and dont have a problem standing in the office and letting people know if they dont take care of their man she will! She steals the mans money from coin machine! I would not recommend this place to anyone! Shes a homewreaker.
We stayed at this campground for 10 months, while my husband worked a job near by. While we met some really great people during our stay it was not all good. As stated in other reviews the roads do need something done the dust is awful. I see where the maintenance crew does try. I realize most of the things I disliked about the campground were due to other campers rude and ridiculous behavior, the campground is to blame in the way they manage situations. The park was very full during our visit and while thats great for them it was a bit hard for daily living... Over crowded small pool with extremely warm water. Parents not monitoring children. Rules beeing broken without concern for public safety. This campground is not the worst Ive seen but, was not for me and my family. We were not here for a vacation we were here to work... My personal opinion is that if I had booked this as a vacation I would be very very unhappy. The splashpad Is not worth the money for the hassles.
Very peaceful and great % kid friendly fun
I made a reservation with this place and found out the next day i had to work so i called and ask them to cancel it and they told me they gonna keep my deposit of a 100 dollars but told me the day before it would only cost me 25 to cancel this reservation this is a rip off scam and will never stay here or recommend anyone to this place
Well family oriented!
Its spread out and great for a long trailer and long rv. It was clean, the area is in the woods and very pretty. The cabins although I did not rent looked nice and my family of 4 with 2 dogs where very comfortable stay there. I probably would stay there if passing through that route again.
We were staying at Little Lake Charles RV Resort as a preview for our groups attending next year. We were impressed with the physical layout of the Resort and how well it is cared for. It just so happened that we arrived during the torrential downpours of rain that Louisiana was dealing with. Therefore, we did not stay as long as we had planned. We are looking forward to our return with our group in October of 2017.
The only good thing about this park was the gal that took our reservations. She was friendly. Other than her the roads were dusty gravel. It was raining and the roads were muddy. The price to stay there was very high. Weve stayed at Disneys fort wilderness in our rv and didnt pay that much. Weve done a lot of traveling in our coach and this was the worst park we have ever stayed at and the most expensive. We will never go back.
Its nice. No cable provided and the wifi is terrible. Pretty crowded but the staff is wonderful
It is very clean and has alot of nice amenities. Such as several pools. Separate ones for children and adults. They have a large catch and release pond. Nice showers and bathrooms. The downside is the lots are muddy as are the roads. There are huge potholes in the roads that they are supposed to be fixing and it still isnt better. They also do not offer cable or WiFi except in the cabins. It is a gated entrance so that is nice but the dust and mud gets really old for the price you pay.
We have stayed here in the past. Thank u for all the reviews here lately cause I see the same issues we had a few years ago are still the same. No updates to the roads and no rules. No working wifi....we had all the same issues and no we wont pay over 700 a month to deal with walking through dirt and mud ro track in our camper.
Been staying here since late November and they keep saying they are going to fix the roads.... the paved entry to the park is full of pot holes filled with loose gravel... a smaller car bottoms out going over the huge speed bumps. It either mud roads and standing water or a dust storm in dry weather. WAY OVER PRICED. But every RV park around here is price gouging because of tbe construction workers.
Staff are amazing!!!!! We have been treated very well by each staff member we have encountered. Love the view and atmosphere!
I was there for two years. DJ crazzy is the best!!!My family really enjoyed this park. The only downfall was the Office management. It seems like every couple of weeks there was a new managers.overall I highly recommend it!!
I’ve posted a review before but wanted to change my rating... I feel like I judged this place to soon based off of the WiFi and bumpy roads but if you can look past those 2 things then this is a great place to live. After talking with the staff more and more I’ve grown really fond of them and enjoy them a lot. Plus the price just went down and there are ducks and baby ducklings everywhere which is so cool to me. Not being able to have cable or normal WiFi was tough on us but honestly, satalite works just as good. I love it here and recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to stay.
Stayed there A year and a half. Was great until we left early after paying for month they said they would refund my account a little over Hundred dollars that never happened and on top of that I had to cancel my card because the following month they tried chargeing my card again so be careful.
It is a nice set up for out of town work but the front desk ladies are not helpful. They act as if they are inconinconvened by the simplest question (e.g. do you have any cabins for rent)
The campground staff was nice and the campground is clean, good wifi.W We are here in April, so the pool, spray park and water slide are closed . The campground isnt paved so when it is dry it is a dust bowl and when it rains, a muddy mess. There is a lot of loud music. It definitely isnt one of my favorite campgrounds, so glad We only stayed two nights. They advertised big rig friendly but their entrance and gates are tough for our 39 foot motor Home.
They have a waterslide and its great to fish because they a big pond but u have to throw back in the fish
Spent a week with my grandsons. They had a blast fishing canoeing and playing in the water park. Great staff.
Very secure park you need a key card to get in. There is around 300 spots to park in. A lot of people stay here long term. The pond is super clear and tranquil. They also have two smaller sized pools and a splash pad for kids. The laundry room has industrial washers and dryers which is pretty nice and is usually only full on the weekends. The roads and Rv spots are not paved and you will get a lot of dust on your vehicles. The WiFi is HORRIBLE!!! I’m lucky if I can connect to it for an hour once a week..... Over all nice place to stay if you don’t need internet access.
Roads are a little rough but the staff is friendly and we love the ducks running around everywhere.
Weve been here since May 2018. The roads are full of potholes which they will not fix. When it rains its a swamp. They rarely cut the grass, and the biting bugs are terrible with all the puddles and uncut grass. At any given time half of the machines in the laundry room are broken.
This place is horrible! The roads are gone and the place is packed with construction workers. There was a party with screaming music EVERY NIGHT we where there. And then the drunks get into fights. For a family this is 1 of the worst places you can stay. It COULD be a wonderful place for familys but unfortunately there is no rules being in forced and therefore you get party and drinking EVERY NIGHT. Oh there is one rule NO ATV/ GAS POWERED rides only golf carts that go 25mph. Oh and the office staff yeah right! For the money there is much better places to stay for familys.
Sucks roads are horrible standing water everywhere dranaige was not properly done.
Visited my daughter, son-in-law, and grandbabies here. Very nice place
My grandson loved the water slide, pools, miniature golf and Fishing. They were working on roads when we were there, so it was a little dusty. We would stay there again!
They have some really awesome employees
Too much mud everywhere, roads were simply awful. The employees were unhelpful and somewhat rude. The camp store was sorely lacking any merchandise. The washers smelled like gas because a lot of workers from the oil refinery live there full time. Lake Charles does not have much to offer anyone but if you need a break in your travels the Mardi Gras Museum was very nice. There are other parks in the area, I suggest trying them but if you can by pass Lake Charles all together it would be a good idea. I would actually rate this park at a -3.
Decent place but Rough roads. Nice neighbors, management. Night time entrance security. No Internet service or cable, job is close and Im not picky.
Stayed in a Cabin for 10 days had a really good time... On Fridays from 6:30 to 10:30 there is a Live DJ... Had a a great time... The people that work there are very nice....
