Ulalena at Maui Theatre

Amazing show. Goes through some of Hawaiis history and kind of explains some of the gods and demigods. Like background music and sound effects. And just a little air acrobatics (cirque du Soleil type of stuff). Cast is super friendly and took pictures with my family at the end of the show. Standing ovation.

I was worried that I was going to fall into a tourist trap when I signed up for this. Instead, the wife and I enjoyed a beautiful performance, great table company, and delicious food. The pork and chicken were especially great. It is a pricey experience but as a dinner date with your wife or s/o, its well worth it.

Skip the commercialized luaus people, and tell your concierge you want tickets to see this fabulous production. There is also the option to have a buffet style dinner with the cast afterwords, something our concierge knew nothing about. Great singing, guitar, drumming and sound effects all beautifully done! Stage work, acting, singing, props, dancing, audience involvement, all amazing!!! If you want to understand just a small portion of the history of the Maui people before and after colonization, youve got to see this. Well done!

Good show. I saw it years ago and I believe that it had been narrated then to let people who dont know the Hawaiian culture understand it a little bit better. But beautiful dancers scenery and acting. Still a must visit.

Excellent show. Third time seeing it. Musicians are outstanding!Note: It has since been closed. Sad, cuz it was one of the best venues in all of Hawaii.

Incredible performance depicting Hawaiis long and troubled history. I was most impressed by the soundtrack, all of it is sung and played live by singers and musicians both on stage and off. It is dramatic, intense, emotional, and very enjoyable. A must see if you are visiting Hawaii and want to learn more about its culture and history.

This was an unbelievable show that left me with lasting love and admiration for the ways of the Hawaiian people. The show was breath taking! A must watch when on Maui!

Awesome even if you dont normally go to interpretive shows like this. It showed a great overview of the history of the Hawaiin people in their own language but easily understood through the dances. The drummers and percussion dudes were incredible. It sounded professionally recorded but is all live. Incredible doesnt describe it.

Excellent show... talented cast and musicians... very friendly staff... have seen the show three times over the years that we visit Maui.. you should check it out... makes for a nice evening...

Awesome! I loved it. Went twice before. A beautiful and emotional experience relating to my families history. Just so unforgettable. I encourage others to check it out if you stay near westside Maui.

My daughter and I attended the performance on 1/29/15 and were so impressed with the dance, vocalists, instrumentals, the sets and the beautifully told story. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Maui. It was the perfect culmination of our first trip to Maui. Bravo! The production was 100% outstanding.

Great show and definitely worth your time. I didnt know really what to expect and was impressed with the quality of the performances and the interpretation. Well done! This theater should be full every show.

We have seen this FABULOUS SHOW 3 times already (each time we go to Maui). It is a little like Cirque du Soleil in that there are lots of vivid, physical feats happening, incredible outfits, FANTASTIC music & percussion going on. The visual & musical stories going on are so MOVING, stylized, riveting, PURE ENTERTAINMENT. Great for all ages. Told with sensitivity, artistry & in the perspective of the indigenous Hawaiians. You will Not be disappointed!

Probably not worth the cost, but a nice show. Maui has better to offer.

My husband and I really enjoyed this show. All of the dancing was so fun to watch. Very talented cast and the props and backdrops were beautiful. Would see this again in a heartbeat.

The music is incredible and wonderful to learn more about the history of Hawaii. I have been several times and cant wait to take my daughter next time we go.

Ulalena was incredible! The show was magical, enchanting and mesmerizing! I could feel the energy and passion from the performers. It exceeded all expectations. My 11 year old daughter loved it also. I think she was pleasantly surprised by how much she loved it. I will sugges the show to all people going to Maui. Mahalo for the experience.

I loved your show. It is educational,entertaining,culturally magnificent, historically brilliant,and the music,songs,singers,musicians,sound effects,stage,and entire production team...front, middle and tail has come together beautifully.One can see it and feel in the product.Big up and OneLOVE.

Lovely stage show dance and music interpretation of the history of Maui. We have seen it a few times now. Nice complement to a luau entertainment elsewhere on Mauu.

My husband and I went to the show in July of 2014 while we were in Maui for our 35th wedding anniversary. The concierge at our time share shared with us about the Burning Love, Elvis experience. After her recommendation we went. Darrens performance of Elvis was outstanding his band singers and dancers were top notch. We would suggest to everyone that goes to Mau that they should go even if Elvis isnt your thing Darrens show is a 10! We will go again when we go back!

Beautiful show! For anyone who is interested in the history of Hawaiian culture, this is some thing for you.

We were lucky to have a choice of activities that our concierge offered to us and after seeing the show yesterday we are so glad that we decided on this. It has been definitely one of the major highlights of our holiday in Hawaii (not just Maui) and we will never forget it. It pays to read up on how the scenes play out (you are given that when you get your ticket) then it is easier to follow. The dancing, acting, singing and acrobatics are superb. The girl who did a majority of yesterdays singing has such a great voice. The meet and greet with some of the cast after is also a bonus. To the cast and crew of Ulalena I have only two things to say.......mahalo, mahalo nui loa

Beautiful show. My daughter dances Hula, therefor she always wants to go to the Ulalena Show. Beautiful production, music and dancing. LOVE IT. We go to the Ulalena show twice a year and we where lucky enough to go on Kamaaina industry night last year. Thank you for offering a free night to kamaainass.
