Couldnt say more about this outstanding restaurant. Great ambiance with jazz and contemporary decor. Food was fantastic and fairly priced. Prawns appetizer was savory and delicious with toast soaked in sauce. Salmon was delicious on a Bed of rice, we had a double order of lamb lollipops which were cooked perfect. Crusty on outside and tender inside. Excellent service from Jeff. We celebrated our anniversary in style!

My friend brought me here over the weekend for the first time and I had so much fun! Definitely will come dancing here more often! I love the Afro-beats music, the ambience the fun atmosphere and the stage! Drinks were very affordable. The only downside is a long wait for the one bathroom.

Price is quite pricey, but it is expected since it is a pretty nice wine bar. You can pick from hundreds of options of wines to drink from. My favorite wine is sweet wines, and they have great selections for those.

First time back since the Taboo Grill days and was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, beautiful décor, craft cocktails and great food. Can’t wait to experience this place without any social distancing restrictions.

My wife took me here for my birthday and it was AMAZING! Kayla, our sever was fantastic! The tuna tar tar appetizer was so delicious! Huge compliments to the chef and staff for making our experience wonderful! Thank you Drake!

Just wow. Had the Chili Lime encrusted salmon. Maybe the best salmon preparation Ive ever had. Wifes meal was also fantastic. The service was pleasant and warmly inviting. This place deserves its reputation!

The food and atmosphere were amazing. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and you won’t regret going here. Only reasons it’s short of 5 stars are (a) some of the tables are less than 6 feet apart, including where we were sat, and (b) the service was decent but could’ve been more attentive.

A true whole in the wall, but The Drake and hummus is the bomb!!!! I ordered the flying falafel plate and we also ordered the flying falafel pita with extra fries. Man the hummus was so fresh tasting, as well as everything else. I really liked the Pita Bread too.. will definitely be back when I visit my hometown....

Went here after our wedding last week. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing! We had the Ribeye, Lobster Pasta and the Scallops, I would have each of them again in a heartbeat.

Only employees wore masks. The tables were very close ! Not one customer wore a mask! They charged me $5 for a tiny glass of milk ! A couple of employees were rude to me ! My limo didnt fit in their tiny parking garage, & it was full anyway ! So I parked it @ the front door, so the Bride & Groom could exit to my red carpet & Chrysler Limo & be gone ! Theres a high curb & wide sidewalk, so I wasnt blocking anybody ! There was no place to park a limo in Laguna Beach ! The groom wanted to walk out & straight into the Limo & exit fast en-route to LAX ! The customers are my bosses ! Theyre paying top dollar! I take orders fromm them !Plus he paid for dinner for about 20 people! & Had his ceremony there ! & Reception there! Limos at your restaurant attracts alot of more customers, because people think it must have great food ! You want limos @ your establishment !!!!!!!

Great food, good music. So great.We got the Prawn Appetizer, probably one of the best seafood dishes I have had. The spicy tomatoe sauce was unreal, I wanted to bath in it.We got the beets salad and it was excellent.I got the Thai Soup, like a Bouillabaisse but with Thai flavors. I would highly recommend this.The jazz music was cool, set a great mood even though we arent jazz heads. We look forward to going back.

Perfect place to go for a date or family outing. Chef Paul and Chef Nick have done an amazing job creating an awesome environment. The live music is a perfect touch to make this cozy restaurant stand out from the rest in the Laguna Beach area. As far as the menu goes there isn’t a single thing that will disappoint. The Scallops are to die for and if there’s room in your stomach after your dinner don’t skip on the dessert!

We have been desperately trying to get in The Drake pre-lockdown, but the restaurant was always booked. They have now re-opened at 50% capacity and we were able to book a table for our wedding anniversary. We were seated outside by the fire, but had a good view of the performers and could hear them just fine. The band performs behind a plexiglass shield. All tables appeared to be spaced out for social distancing. If you still have concerns, then the outside seats will be the safest place to sit. Ok, service was excellent under the circumstances. Our server was friendly and offered nice suggestions. Food is served at a nice pace. You never feel rushed. And the food. The food is excellent. We started with cevice which was the best cevice I have ever had. Next I had ribeye steak and my wife had filet mignon. Perfectly prepared. We finished with a three chocolate pardait. A wonderful evening. We will be back.

We were headed to The Salt Creek Grill in Dana Point but sadly found it closed..(another Covid Insanity casualty?) On the way back north on PCH we passed The Drake and decided to stop. We were very glad we did.. Service was warm and friendly from the moment we walked in. Jim our experienced server was very personable and informative! I ordered a manhattan with Sazerac rye but there was a bit of a misunderstanding which was quickly rectified and I wouldnt mention it but everyone couldnt have been nicer about it and the final result was an excellent manhattan cocktail. I ordered the beet salad ( delicious!) and my friend had the burrata salad..again delicious! Next I had halibut done perfectly and my friend had the perfectly prepared pork chop! Wow! DEELICIOUS!Would I recommend this place? You bet!

This was our second visit and it was just as amazing as our first experience. Our service was amazing to the point that they opened a bottle of Chablis just to offer a glass that would pair with my entrée! Great cocktails!

The evening was magical although we started out with a bad reservation we ended up with the best table in the house. The food was excellent, cocktails exquisite and the entertainment superb! It’s a must return for more!

Refreshing place.. in OC that offer great jazz music...food is very good...selection is still limited.. also the hype of 3 weeks to reserve at weekends. Sounds like a marketing tactic that create demand...but pushing pepole away

One of my best meals. A must visit in Laguna Beach. Cocktails were on point, the mains were delicious and we look forward to trying more of the appetizers and desserts. The singer was also great, adding to the night.

What an amazing place and energy. Love the live music and the food is to die for. I can’t get enough of the Mediterranean branzino. Love the appetizers selection as well. Considering the quality of the products like double r ranch beef, the prices are very reasonable, including the wines and drinks. Service is exceptional. I will definitely be back soon!!!

An impressive addition to Laguna dining scene. Every one at our table were impressed with the decor, food, and overall feeling of warmth and staff wanting to please. The salads and the filets, in particular, were standouts. Four stars reflect a goal to bring the service level up a bit; having to ask for ground pepper with salad presentation, requesting wine be poured for empty glasses, presented with another tables check. These are minor, but indicative of bumps shared by many new places, and are easily fixed. Will definitely return to this restaurant and recommend to friends. Laguna is lucky to have this new, great, restaurant.

Only reason it gets 2 stars is because the food was good. The Waiter took 45 minutes to take our order. Then the band played my parents first dance song from their wedding (it was my moms birthday by the way) and they got up to slow dance to it. The servers who had taken 45 minutes to take our order made them sit down within 10 seconds. Took forever to get our check and we had to go track down the waiter to get it. For a night that was supposed to be a celebration, the service ruined it.

What an experience! Upscale supper club with a warm and shimmering atmosphere. The Gresh Quartet, fresh with familiar favorites. Staff was personalabe and attentive. Special thanks to Taylor, Chef Nick and of course Alec for orchestrating a lovely evening.

The Drakes atmosphere, accompanied by its live music, fantastic cocktails, excellent knowledgeable service/servers, and most importantly, the AMAZING cuisine make this new addition to Laguna every bit worth the visit! If you have the chance order the steelhead salmon, and venison, it is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!Our server Johnny was exceptional, kind and attentive. He knowledgeably (with tasteful humor) suggested some drinks and described some plates we should order. The chefs know what they are doing 100% I absolutely cannot suggest this restaurant enough! And will return!In short; the setting is very nice, casual yet upscale, with a staff that exceeds all expectations...but the biggest winner is the food itself, an amazing accomplishment.Also, I should highlight that the live music is perfectly curated for this place; we thoroughly enjoyed it.5/5 stars

Outstanding food by OC’s famous chef, high quality live music, classic interior with contemporary twist. Simply can’t imagine anything more unique and exceptional in Laguna Beach. Food-wise, this place gets the spot on par with Broadway by Anar Santana and Ocean at Main by Craig Strong. Among top 10 things to do in Orange County, if you are visiting.

Good, not great. Didnt get to experience any music despite being there till 8:30 on Friday night. Service was good, drinks were average - longish cocktail list but not inspiring and even the Echeleon I had (with lime juice) was surprisingly on the sweet side. Food was pretty nicely done (we had scallops and duck special) but what wed expect for the price. BTW if you like greens I suggest ordering a side vegetable.Surprisingly popular for 6pm on a Friday, the acoustics are a bit harsh though.Complimentary valet parking was appreciated for an awkward spot. Tip: you need to drive past the restaurant then U-turn across the traffic, then turn into the covered parking garage to get the valet.

Been there twice, both times we were told we had no reservations, even though we did. No effort from the hostess to resolve the issue. Food was good, but they do not accommodate for food allergies. Very very loud. Servers are pleasant

I attended The Drake this evening to have dinner and enjoy a love music performance. Tonight The Drake hosted something a bit more raucous of an act called Lightnin Willie. They played an eclectic mixture of blues, folk and country but none of it steered into the fray of being too gamey.The staff was energized by the music and incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic as well ! I dont know if Id want every mid-week dinner outing to be as exciting but the surprise was way above the bar. Our night was wrapped up by 930 and while our table enjoyed two more bottles of wine beyond dinner I think tomorrow morning wont present any challenges as our Uber had us home before 10. I cannot believe this venue is so accessible.

We went here last night for dinner for my husbands birthday. We were excited for a new restaurant in town. I loved the decor and atmosphere. Food was great. We shared the tomato/burrata salad (very good). Hubby had a filet (very good) and I had the branzino (served w/o head and deboned). It was very good. The most amazing thing we had was the dessert called Salted Carmel Budino. It was amazing!! I am particular on service, and service was great. Due to the live music, it was a bit on the loud side in the restaurant - the music is in the lounge area, but there are speakers in the dining area. We ate inside - I wouldnt want to eat outside - its right on PCH and is always busy w/traffic.My only complaint is that there is no parking at all. Behind the restaurant is a neighborhood with no parking available, there are no spots on PCH in front of the restaurant. We did find a metered spot off Nyes, but got lucky b/c it was a Sunday night. Next time we will probably use the complimentary valet (suggested tip $4, so the sign says) or rideshare.

Hands down...the finest cuisine in OC, if not the entire State. A few weeks after opening and this fine-tuned culinary machine is just starting to rev up. From the gracious frontline staff to open-air kitchen, the cohesive teamwork is quite evident. The low key piano bar and dining lounge jazz make for a classic bar and/or dinner setting. Then, theres the menu... laden with continental classics, from Filet Mignon to Ribeye, fused with euro-asian delights, to include grilled Branzino and hamachi sashimi. Everything was lightly seasoned and under-grilled to perfection...case in point, the lightly marinated/grilled lamb chops with spicy hummus accoutrement. The Drake has a distinctly local vibe that will magnetize sophisticated diners from afar. What a refreshing shift from the corporate kitchens weve come to accept. Kudos to a true master Chef de Cuisine, and the entire team. You heard it here, first: The Drake (of little Laguna Beach;-) will stand with iconic global brands - from Cipriani NYC to Le Louis XV Monaco.
