The Paul and Lulu Hilliard Art Museum consists of an impressive modern building next to a very nice classical building. Altogether a very nice setting. The modern building houses quite some impressive modern art, some of it still highly figurative. Quite worthwhile to visit! There is also a good gift shop.
Lafayette is lucky to have the Hilliard University Art Museum, and if youve never been you are missing out. Drop by Tuesday-Saturday to enjoy one of the world-class exhibitions, buy something truly marvelous at the gift shop, or participate in one of their outstanding educational programs. The Hilliard represents the best of Lafayette. Its a gem.
Tried to see the art and they wanted to take my last five dollars. There is no beauty to their art
Very interesting little museum in lafayette, great rotating exhibits
Most enjoyable....3 galleries rotate, so it is a good idea to check to a whats on display. The Winston Churchill PAINTINGS show and BOX CITY BUILDING exhibits rocked!
Wonderful art museum. courteous staff and always amazing shows!
Fun place to visit and I like how they feature local artists. Lafayette needs more art venues
So glad to see Salvador Dali here. Thank you Thank you Thank you. I brought my family and the kids were changed by the Dali exhibit. Meaning they experienced an appreciation for art through their reactions of emotions during and after the visit. Will visit again as I see events that inspire us.
Decent little museum, worth a visit if youve never been
The kids enjoyed the various areas as well as the hands-on experiences. Not very large.
Went to a wedding here. Very nice setting. Luckily it was a cool night
Artist talks series, art demonstrations and childrens activities bring art to life at the Hilliard. A wonderful community asset.
Great museum. Fun way to spend a day.
My wife and I visit museums wherever we travel in the U.S. and Europe. This is as nice a small museum as you will find anywhere. We travel to Lafayette several times each year to visit family, friends, eat wonderful food and visit this museum. If your interest is in unique art by designers and craftsperson and those artists yet undiscovered this is the spot. While you are there, walked down St. Mary Boulevard and see the 100 year old oak trees on the campus of the University of Louisiana.
This exhibit is extraordinaryIove the intetactive features.
Always enjoyable with a camera.
I got married at the Paul and Lulu Hilliard art museum 1.6.18 and it was the perfect backdrop for a wedding. We had so many complements. I would highly recommend making sure you have a day of coordinator, at least, as there is a lot of coordination the day of the wedding.
