Despite what other people’s reviews may say, this gym is a great place. The team kids are a family and love the time they spend together inside and outside the gym. The recreational kids not only grow as gymnasts but develops better listening skills and coordination. Everything we do is to make this place a place that you and your child will love to be.
We love Davitas Funtastic Gymnastics! I took classes with Davita as a young child, and came back for tumbling classes in high school with Coach Tony! When my daughter started asking for classes, I knew exactly where we would be going. My daughter has been in classes for about 6 months, and has learned so much in that short time. She loves her classes, and asks every day if it is gymnastics day. We always feel welcomed when we are there for class, and can tell how much the other parents also love being in the gym! Being at Davitas is like being with family, and we wouldnt go anywhere else.
Davitas gymnastics provides many opportunities for children of all ages and experience levels. They have a great team as well as recreational classes. The coaches are helpful, kind, and knowledgeable.
We were just visiting from out of state and one of the girls from our home gym recommended this gym to us.This gym came highly recommended from other USAG gymnasts and parents.I can definitely say that I now understand why. Mrs. Davita Ivey is a well seasoned coach and judge, her staff have been trained to provide great customer service and are very parent friendly. I had read the previous reviews and was a little nervous to come here but I must debunk all of the negative reviews. The coaches are well trained (most of them are previous gymnasts themselves) and work great with the kids. They are patient, tolerant and manage any conflicts with poise and professionalism. The waiting area was always comfortable to be in, comfy seats and cushions, nicely decorated, light music and the other gym parents were always so kind and welcoming. Definitely felt the southern charm. This is a Christian faith based gym so I enjoyed the daily prayer before practices and it definitely brought me peace and comfort while waiting for my daughters practice to end. The parking had easy access and the outside was always well kept and clean. Thank you Mrs. Davitas Funtastic Gymnastics for giving my daughter a practice gym during our transition, we appreciate you and all of your staff. Hope that our paths cross again. May God continue to bless this gym, the staff and all their gymnast. Gracias de corazón ️
You have got to be kidding me! Owner is giving away classes in return for good reviews on Facebook and Google. Probably because no one would leave a good review if they didnt. My child had been on team here and it was horrible. Yelling and degrading to kids. Found out they had Gym Secrets which were not to be told to parents. As soon as I found that out I ran for the hills. I think most team stays there because they are afraid of what will happen if they even think about leaving. Davita is very malicious. For touting on being a Christian she sure talks the talk but doesnt walk the walk. It was crazy! Did I create an account just to leave a review.....you bet I did. My child is now happily competing at another gym. Davita judges at meets and I know if she knew who this was she would be biased against my kid and her new, well adjusted team with great coaches.
LOVE Davitas! They offer a variety of rec classes as well as a team track for both girls and boys if thats what you prefer.
My daughter loves going for her classes. She has improved so much! I just wish the facility was bigger and more parking spaces were available. Its hard finding a spot at times and the waiting area is so tight. It could be more comfortable. There should also be a designated area for the kids to put there belongings instead of throwing the shoes all over the floor where someone can trip and fall.
Our daughter has been going here for 2 years. Loved it. Gets crowded on certain days. But besides that its great. Our coach loves our daughter and helps her improve. She looks forward to going every week. Highly recommended. They let you make up missed classes and the monthly fee isnt too unreasonable. When our second daughter gets old enough we will have her give it a go as well.
Is this all this place does the see your child is a number and care about bringing your money for the 45 minute class that you’re supposed to have it’s not individualized in anyway my child went there for a year did not learn any new skills and 15 minutes at the end of every single class so I third of the time they just sent off to do whatever they want on this little kitty player that a two-year-old should be playing on don’t waste your money or your child’s time here.
My 2 year has fun and has learned alot and they are really patient with toddlers!
Grate place I enjoy it very organized and grate coaches, and the girls are safe and know what they are doing.love it
Poor communication by owner. Emailing and calling multiple times with no response, when I do hear back its always not pertaining to the actual email as if they have no clue whats going on ever. The coach did not watch all the kids during class to make sure proper body mechanics were being taught. She spent most of the class leaning against the wall while half the class ran around having no clue what they were even supposed to be doing.Very unorganized facility, we decided to go elsewhere...def would NOT recommend.
I love the gym. My twins are improving greatly.
An amazing gym, loving family, very professional staff and an all around great atmosphere and the best gym in charleston South Carolina.
Amazing! Love all the coaches there, all nice, and its all that Ive ever wanted to do!!
Would not recommend this to anyone. Did not feel comfortable with my daughter taking lessons here.
Great experience there, everyone ik that goes there says they love it
In the year that my daughter was a gymnast at this facility we experienced a lot! In the gym things were good for the most part with the exception of my daughter splitting her head open and needing to go to the emergency room to have her scalp stapled back together. Apparently the gym was negligent in the way that the foam pit was padded, the owners were indifferent and never addressed the incident. The coaches were great and worked hard, sadly they were not appreciated or treated well by the owners. In our time there some good coaches left the gym, at times the gym seems to be very understaffed. All of the dedication of the coaches could not overcome the disaster of a business that this gym runs. This gym doesnt accept credit cards, is unorganized and behind the times. There are a flood of emails that are constantly being sent to parents that seem to just make things confusing for everyone and they are often offensive. The receptionist/coordinator/scheduler/manager at the front desk has way to much on her plate and cant keep up. At different times throughout the day the parking is horrible and cars are parked everywhere. One day my wife asked her about something for the third time because we had yet to hear back about it and she went off on my wife yelling and screaming and slamming a door. Again, the owners didnt really care. Another disheartening thing that we saw multiple times was many talented young gymnasts who had been there for years just leave. The owners did nothing to keep them there. Most of the time when parents had concerns with their gymnast and emailed the owners there was no response. Often parents keep there child at this gym in spite of all of the issues for fear of recourse as the owner is a well known judge and would likely be judging their child as some point.Safety doesnt matter to the owners. Again they didnt care when my daughter had to go to the hospital, but there are plenty of other examples of their disregard for safety. They refuse to close the gym for any reason including when the area is under mandatory evacuation for the recent hurricane. There was one occasion when my children attended a parents night out and my children spent the entire night sitting in the dark as the power went out in the gym for almost the entire night. One would imaging that provisions such as a backup generator would be in place and if not it would be reasonable to provide the children with a makeup or issue a refund, none of which occurred. The last in house meet that we attended was a mess, it was completely unorganized and as soon as our gymnasts were issued their medals we were all rushed out of the gym because they had booked a birthday party backing right up to the event. There was a constant lack of caring for the gymnasts and their feelings. There are many dedicated children there that never receive any positive reinforcement despite their efforts. The final straw was when my family and I, other parents and coaches were threatened and intimidated both physically and in writing because of our race and political affiliations. When this was brought to the attention of the owners they did as they always seem to do, they did nothing. I made it very clear that they would loss a gymnast if they were unable to address the issues and provide a safe place for my daughter. They didnt care and forced us to find another gym.Its sad that regardless of the nice facility, the dedicated coaches, or the inspirational young gymnasts the owners lack of caring, people skills, and overall business sense makes this a place to stay away from.
Kids get a good variety of skills and stretches.
Very unprofessional front office/reception staff along with actual owners.
The most unfriendly and unprofessional front office staff I have encountered in a long time.
