Walked the Woodlands course and definitely recommend playing here. Staff was superb and conditions of course with the exception of the bunkers, which were more like waste areas, were great. Greens rolled deceivingly quick for this East Coast guy but were in great shape ! Course had great character even though there were houses located on it. Back 9 seemed like I was strolling through the neighborhood but was able to overlook this lil distraction. Enjoyed my experience!
Went in to pay for a round and caught the clerk standing not 2 feet away from another individual. One at the desk had a mask on the clerk standing did not. He saw me then put a mask on and told me legally he can not serve me unless I have a mask. I was nice and explained that I do have legitimate medical reasons why I cant wear one. He said once again that he legally cant serve me. I further explained that according to the mandate set by the Governor that there are medical exemptions and they needed to read it again. He looked at his friend and said again as before. I told him fine I will take my business elsewhere. He proceeded to say fine then. I know my business isnt even a drop in the bucket for this place and they wont care but their staff needs proper training on things and if they are caught without a mask they need to own up to it and not turn around and give someone a hard time that really cant wear one.
Hadnt played this course in a long time, but enjoyed it once again, walking. There are two 18 hole course here, the Links and Woodlands. Woodlands was closed a couple weeks ago when we played there. I dont remember much from the Woodlands course from years past, but Im sure I wouldnt have played it multiple times if it wasnt a good one. The Links has some good elevation changes and narrow fairways with plenty of bunkers and some water here and there. Will play again, but would like to get back on the Woodland course someday. I think they had said it was closed for the winter.
Played here for the first time recently, 18 on the Woodlands course. I was hoping for more trees and didnt think there would be so many houses, but I can see why they were literally building houses on the side of a couple fairways as a friend & I played through.Overall, a great track; very well kept. Its been sunny and 60 for a few days in a row: The greens were excellent and pretty fast. There was usually a lot of dance-floor, and where the green ends it was always surrounded by bunkers and /or knolls. A bit of distance between holes but quick with a cart, and very well marked. Definitely worth a round, I will play it again and also try the Links Course.
Friendly staff and greens/course was in great shape. A bit expensive but the course was certainly worth it. Dont hesitate if you want challenge.
First time here, at woodlands, great course. Lots of draws and fades. Good amount of hazards. Had a blast
Great facility. Nice staff. Good food. Ill be back!
Great courses.
Always a fun course. Winter rates now $43 with cart. Links course only. Woodland course closed for the winter.
Played the Pearl foundation tournament. The course was in good shape and the lunch served was really good. One of the best scrambles Ive played in along time. One of the best run scrambles I been fortunate to have been part of. The staff was the best. Will look forward to playing the course real soon
Nice course at great prices
This is a great golf course!! They have two courses. One is the Woodlands, pretty challenging course, but very fun. Take a cart if you play this course! Trust me :)The links, is my favorite out of the two though. It has some really cool unique holes. It does have some houses on it. But they dont really come into play unless you hit some ridiculously bad shots lol. Reasonable prices. Decent practice facility. I like to practice my putting and chipping there, because the practice green is always fast but it also has some hard chip shots, to practice.
Beautiful course but challenging coz of layout, hazards and walking distance from hole to the next tee. Great for experienced golfers.
Two great courses. My favorite was the links.
Its a typical Golf restaurant arrangement. Food is decent, there is a pro shop, you can rent thingies, etc.
Great course, nice greens. the links Is well maintained. Have golfed here 3 weeks in a row. And nice cigar selection as well.
Well kept greens and great staff
Beautiful golf club with two courses to offer. Well staffed and well kept. Havent played the courses yet, but the driving range was very nice for how inexpensive the cost is. Looking forward to playing many rounds here!
Great course. Friendly staff. The course was in great shape.
This course is good for South Puget Sound - especially Lacey. But it is average when compared to other more reputable courses like Washington National, Gold Mountain, McCormick Woods, Trophy lake etc. Still a course that is worth the play if it isnt too windy. When its windy its not fun playing... and it seems like it is more windy then not.... Maybe its the location of the golf course? Still, if you are local to Olympia - it is one of the better courses.
This is a fun and well, maintained links course. It has so,e very long holes that provide a nice challenge. The parking is free and there is a bar and pro shop onsite. There is also cart service for snacks and drinks on the course. The course is built in and around a lot of houses but you can still see a lof of wild life out on the course.
Fairways playing better than any Ive played in Washington right now and greens are rolling great as well. The course is in the best shape Ive ever seen it.
Amazing place to work play and eat 2 beautiful courses friendly staff amazing guests all around awesome. Come on over. 2019s even better
I also wrote a review but it didnt post! Basically this course is very pretty. They use what is around in nature to make the courses. It has been a year or 2 since I was there but I do like it. If youre looking for blown up exstavigent over done place that more hype and big bucks... This isnt it... If youre truly a love of nature, beauty, nice people and really concentrating on not losing your ball... This place is for you! I wish more places would do this... Make it look like the surrounding area...We dont need to be L.A.s sister city!!
I remember when this was a beautiful facility. I wasnt that long ago. Played the Woodlands yesterday. It looks like the water bill hasnt been paid. Many areas of unplayable surface. The greens are still in good condition and challenging but this place has really fallen off and is worth about half what they charge.
Great greens. Courses always well maintained. Friendly and efficient staff in the clubhouse. A joy to play here.
Recently played this track and received a disappointing experience at best. The course staff had an attitude at check in was satisfactory. They took my money and provided my choice of carts that should have been scrapped out a long time ago. They must be one of the few courses in the county still using gas carts. I played the Woodlands and was surprised by the lack of maintenance to the grounds and the cart paths. This is a course that needs to be told about a thing called Weed & Feed. The back 9 is when the lack of maintenance becomes much more clear by the collapsing tee box on #11 that has resulted in creosote railroad ties floating in the water. I don’t see any concern for the safety of the public or the environment. The failing #11 tee box isn’t even marked closed. If you can see through all of the blackberry bushes and overgrown brush, you can see the potential for a beautiful course that has been lost to the lack of management, effort, attention and pride. The large bumps and disrepair of the cart paths make them borderline dangerous. If you have back issues stay on the grass. The drink cart has no problem staying on the cart path and is happy to drive by as you are taking a shot or putting. After my round a proceeded to the restaurant. I was presented with no other option then ringing a bell multiple times that resulted in more short tempered crappy service. If you like greasy mess on a paper plate, this is the place for you.If you choose to play this course bring your blinders, don’t talk to the staff and go somewhere else for a bite when youre done.
Range balls are averaged priced among the other golf courses in the area. The green fees are average as well. The links course is always fun to play, have not played the woodlands course yet.
Conditions were superb. Fun course, firm greens, open fairways. Not too easy and not too difficult.
Very nice challenging course.
Fun course in great shape. The greens are super fast.
We played The Woodlands. The greens were in great shape for the most part but the rest of the course was not at all. Fairways sometimes did not deserve the name. Some nearly bare ground even inside 100 yards.
Played the links course. Perfect for an average golfer - challenging but not overwhelming, while still making stronger golfers work to get to part.
Value of passes are hard to beat in this area. Greens are in great shape. I believe plugging starts soon.
Clubhouse staff is great. Hooked me up with an OkiCard because Im military. Restaurant staff and facility badly need an update. Took 10 minutes to get a hot dog and drink, and this was at 3:00pm, so not a weird time to want a dog and drink.I played on 25 July, starting at 4:00 pm. on the Woodlands course. The condition of the golf course needs a lot of work. There are way too many dead, burnt, and bare patches on every single fairway of the course. The grass is also very unevenly cut on the fairways, if cut at all. And the areas where it has been cut, its a quick run over and huge clumps of clippings are left behind in the fairway all over the place. Tee boxes are really chewed up. Id recommend putting boxes with a mix of potting soil/top soil/seed on the tee boxes for all par 3s, and get rid of the plain sand bottles in the carts and replace with a good seed/soil mix so people can fix their divots. I will say that the greens were awesome. I dont recall a single green that wasnt smooth and cut nicely. I dont recall even seeing a single bare patch or dead patch on any of the greens.Over the last two weeks Ive sit on my in-laws porch on Saturday and Sunday mornings and have been amazed by how few golfers Ive seen come through. The conditions encountered do not match the price being charged. Why pay $50 for a weekend round here when a person could go right down the road to the Home Course and pay $64.I started playing both these courses back around 2004 and have slowly seen it declining since then. Its a course that has tremendous potential if the conditions would just be improved to match the challenging design.
One of the best walking courses in NW. Links, very fair how it plays. Can scatter a few balls and not get killed.
I play often at Hawks Prairie and over the years I have seen things deteriorate . These 2 courses are not a big profit machine for OKI. The maintenance is minimal compared to other OKI courses. They do not price there greens fees in a competitive manner and consequently the play is down. Locals have much better options for their golfing buck. That said, they have 2 great courses with very nice greens.
Woodlands fun humbling pro shop great will go again
The Golf Course was ok very sort staffed only one guy working the proton with a line of about 5 people and only saw one person taking care of the carts and picking balls at the range. I was not very pleased with the service, I will not be returning and would not recommend it. Only reason for two stars is the golf course in kinda fun but customer service is terrible.
Great public golf course. The links side!
Beautiful big everything to do imaginable, even homemade cookies
Nice course. Dont hit the homes! Great breakfast sandwich.
Excellent course. Played The Woodlands and it was in great shape from tee to green.
Beautiful course in absolutely perfect condition. Ive never seen greens in the NW in better shape.
Great people, and the greens are AWESOME!
Great place to play golf
Two awesome courses, friendly staff, and a great place to host events.
Difficult to find, nice course. Lots of houses
Nice course. Long walk
2 full 18s. Quiet, wooded, fair course
Great food with fantastic club sandwiches!
Nice course and close by my home
Woodlands course was still mushy in many places in August after 3 months without rain.
Awesome course, well maintained, greens were perfect.
One of my favorite courses
Not to busy for a saturday
Great course, well kept, wonderful employees.
Fun time great price
Too many rocks in the bunkers. Someone is going to get hurt. Took a chunk out of my sand wedge. Not good.
Nice track
Played the Links, like the course layout but it is in very poor condition, most of the tees had grass that was 3 to 4 inches tall and the greens were in very poor shape, too much money for the course conditions.
Nice turf. Present people
Had a great time
Always a good day golfing
Greens are in excellent shape.
Its a lot of fun
