My parents use to bring us here when we were kids, and now Ive been bringing my kids kids. The ship is awsome, sadly this time we didnt get to go inside since theyre doing some construction but still we enjoyed coming. Very educational

Hate that it is closed to be able to board ship. Also hate that the governor has decided to move it period it will be years before its renovated and moved period but hopefully they will move it to Galveston

I had fun walking around on the battleship and learning about the history of the boat and spending time with my family out there as well.

Shes still upright. Like every other Texan, I want the Battleship Texas to be repaired. To a condition that it can dry docked permanent, and we can visit it up close again.

The Battleship is closed for renovation until further notice. Need some maintenance around the park aerea.

Nothing will ever change if the Texas is repaired (again) just to be returned to sit in salt water (again) to slowly deteriorate away. When it is in a permanent dry dock the need for extensive maintenance will nowhere be what it is now nor what it has been in the past.

It was fun, but just once. just visit it, because there is no other place near houston for quick break

I have enjoyed visiting the battleship Texas since age 10 back in 1979. My last visit was June 5th 2019, for the 75th anniversary of D-Day ceremony, as the Texas played a major part in the D-Day invasion in the European campaign. So everybody knows, the battleship Texas is now closed to the public for an indefinite period, as the Texas gets moved to dry dock for full renovation and much-needed repairs. The Battleship Texas will NOT return to its previous port where it was near the San Jacinto Monument due to its low number of visitors per year. The Texas State Parks System will no longer fund the Battleship Texas once it is dry-docked. It will rely solely on number of visitors to fund it, so it is best to find a place with high visitor volume, which would make the most sense to house it in Galveston. It is still uncertain at the moment where the Texas new home port will be, however, many are speculating itll be on Galveston Island.
