Driving out to the dunes, there were people using little boards to try and ride down the dunes. Not sure how successful they were. ;) There is a nice, shaded path along the pond at the end of the park where the picnic shelter is. Beyond the shade, the sand was too hot for our dogs paws so we turned back. There was a family celebrating a birthday in the large shaded picnic shelter. The kids were wading in a small inlet. In addition to being a nice day trip spot, there are two campgrounds for longer stays.
Great spot to camp on a road trip through the state. We didn’t explore the park, but we’re very satisfied with our camping experience. FYI they charge extra if you are from out of state.
A nice place to eat lunch, hang out by the river, and learn about Oregon history.
This place is dumpy, no services, no park host, trash in and around most clumps of bushes,, and lots of overgrowth where you get to the water. We picnicd on the campground side because the day use side was gross.
A great rest area for kids to get out and run around
This is a great place to stop and get out of the car if youre weary from road travel.
Nice little park. Michael the host was friendly and helpful. Restrooms and park clean and maintained. Some highway noise should be expected but minimal at night. Move the parking bumpers back a couple feet for more clearance to the entry road. Need more access spots to the river.
Very beautiful State Park to visit. Have been here several times but was disappointed this time with park hosts. It was so obvious that they were there for free place to squat. Their dog roamed the park unleashed, fire rings had garage in them, in the six days we were there we saw them twice cruising the park in their cart and not once bc did they get off or drive into a site and check the fire ring. Very disappointed in the park hosting program being represented in this way.
Wondering what Im looking at lol
Great no-reservation sites right next to the river. Good hosts, restrooms with plumbing. Lots of highway noise, but it drops at night.
Its 10 minutes out of town to camping in beauty next to the Grande Rhonda river.
My favorite place to camp
Beautiful time of year, public restroom was clean and well-stocked. Much appreciated!
Nice park
Park was closed, seems like a frustration causing issue. Cant really rate cuz was not open.
Nice state park right off the highway. Has a good area to run the dogs and some public restrooms. Good swimming hole just downstream of the bridge.
Nice facilities but constant engine brake noise from trucks
Nice State Park just off the freeway. We didnt spend the night but it might be quieter than you would think since the campground is below the freeway. Ride Along at very nice River.
Beautiful place
The camp host was rude. Oregon state parks and rec took care of him. The parks dept was awesom
It was raining so some of it was flooded and gloomy yest strangely beautiful. Would reccomend when its not raining
Pretty nice place to get off I84 and take a break from driving
A nice little park by the Grande Ronde river. We stop there on trips.
David and Vicki were awesome hosts good location off freeway friendly people right by river didn’t catch any fish but your luck may be better
Nice little park just off I84 with small restroom for a quick break.
Pulled in here one night over 14 years ago and camped for $6... not sure what it costs now.Great location right off the freeway for easy access.
Beautiful place for a picnic!
This is a peaceful nature spot. BBQ pits and tables. Camp sites and nice clean bathrooms . Easily found just off the freeway.
Had a great night here. The bonus was we were the only ones at the park. Great camp host.
Clean, safe, and oh so friendly. River is fun to play in.
Great little stop off the interstate for the night. Barely heard the Hwy noise. $10 per night, water spots available, and toilets.
I got in a fight with a goose here... The goose won... I mean how strange is that? I mean you would expect that from a hawk, or maybe even an eagle ... But a darn goose? Didnt see that one coming . I was certain it would fly away, I guess I learned my lesson. When a goose comes for your Pop-Tart just let it have the damn thing!
Nice park, beautiful Creek side setting and clean, neat restroom accommodations.
Never get tired of beauty!
Lots of great memories here. Right off interstate 84 but you forget that as soon as you pull in.
Beautiful place. Great shallow river for kids . very clean !!!!-
Its beautiful but its right below the freeway and we heard trucks n Jake breaks, not very peaceful
Nice park along the highway when you need a break. Has bathrooms for the public and a campground.
Very nice river and trees. Very peaceful.
Right off I-84, you get some traffic noise, but its a nice little park. Clean, right on the river, good place to stop for a night or few on your way through.
Good swimming hole later in the summer and a good spot to stop and rest of picnic.
Quiet place for a quick nap on a cold day
Looks like a nice place to tent camp, bathrooms were better than expected. But very noisy freeway traffic and trains nearby.
Great little road side campground
Great park, love to bring my dogs out here
Friendly beautiful
Nice park next to the river
Wasnt there

Great place to get baptized!
Nice, clean, quiet place to stay
Flooded
Will be back!
